...PACKAGING These come in a long cardboard box with various different colours of pink occupying the front of it. :Angel slices" is written on the front of it and the word "angel" is written in quite fancy writing with a halo above the letter a. Also written on the front it tells you that it has "no artificial colours" or flavours and is twin packed for freshness. Inside there is six angel slices and two in each packet. The packets have a plastic covering and the slices are in a little plastic container inside it. ...Does Mr Kipling really make exceedingly good cakes??! Well, to argue for this say hello to the Lemon Slice... Each box of slices comes with six of the little treats in three sealed packs of two, so ideal for lunchboxes and keeps them fresh. The cakes themselves are approximately three-inch strips of sponge with a "zesty lemon icing"...not my words, the words of the front of the packaging. But true to his word, Mr Kipling has produced a zesty lemon icing, which makes the slices both refreshing and flavoursome. The sponge is very light and not at all stodgy which is never appetising. A slice of nuttiness

...When some-one mentions cakes the first thought to cross most peoples mind apart from cream is Mr Kipling. It seems there is nothing this dude can't do with some pastry some sponge and a few mediocre fillings. Most of the products in the Mr Kipling range are adequate at best, with perhaps the exception of Cherry Bakewells and Almond Slices. It is the latter which I shall be reviewing today along with a nice cup of coffee. The packet containing the six Almond Slices is a nice red colour with a picture of the slices on the front and sides. In the centre of the front of the packet is the familiar Mr Kipling logo. On opening the box I can see that the slices are held in a plastic tray and placed inside a plastic bag to keep them fresh. Once I frantically open the bag I get a whiff of the Almonds along with a nice sweet smell...

...Continuing in my quest of trying to shed the extra half a stone I am buying Weight Watchers (W.W) cakes although am not following the W.W regime, perhaps that's why I'm not losing the weight and my friend is, as she follows it religiously and is fast becoming a thin W.W bore!! ~ Price ~ The cheapest place I have found so far for these cakes is Asda at £1.04 per pack which works out as approx 17p per slice, not too bad for 30 seconds of pleasure. ~ Packaging ~ The cakes come in a rectangular shaped outer box.
