Advantages: Blu-ray, free online, nice extras like vidzone & iplayer. Almost silent operation
Disadvantages: Rubbish controller, still expensive, online nowhere near as good as xbox live

...Well, had the slim for a few weeks now (my 1st ever playstation), personally, I'm a little underwhelmed by it, I've been a gamer since the nintendo game & watch days & owned @ least 1 of the current gen consoles since the Mega Drive(Genesis). Graphically the system has the potential to wipe the floor with the 360, but this is really only going to apply to PS3 exclusives as any software house making a multi-platform game is going to be as cost effective (lazy) as possible & use the same graphics on all the games where possible(ok, they need to dumb them down for the Wii). My problem here is that I have yet to get a game for it that runs in 1080P, they all seem to be in 720P! Why???? I'm sure they are out there, but I haven't found one yet. I guess this is down to most HD tv's being HD ready rather than Full HD. Sound-Yeah, ok...

Advantages: inexpensive, quick to lose the weight, lots of support

...It got to thestage where I had to do something about my weight. I had finished working, and got a bit lethargic at home all day, hence the weigt piled on. I saw an ad for Slimming World in the local shop, and it was held just along the road from where live. I plucked up courage and went along to the group, on the Tuesday evening. I was welcombed warmly by everybody, and listened to the introductory talk. It all souded very good, but a little unbelievable. They were saying that you could lose 4/7 pounds a week!! I needed to lose 3 stone, and if that was the case, it wouldn't take too long to get it off. So I joined, and the following week, lo and behold lost 6 lbs. Amazing. Slimming world - a positive experience

Advantages: Support and advice from people who know how you feel.
Disadvantages: Works out costly

...I have tried all the well know slimming clubs and diets, but i have to say Slimming world is the best I have tried. I haven't succeeded in losing any near the amount of weight I need to, but I have lost by far the most through slimming world. I am joining back up with them this coming week and hopefully this time will be the time I follow through with it. The last time I stopped going was the cost, this (thankfully isn't an issue at the present time due to both myself and my husband getting better jobs). After I stopped going to the classes I tried to follow the plan but just didn't have the willpower to do it alone. Advantages: Excellent choice in food
Disadvantages: £4.50 per week and a £10 joining fee

...I have been a memeber of slimming world since september 2007 and i am still attending every wee which for me is an achievement in itself. Slimming world is a slimming club that you pay a weekely fee to attend this fee is £4.50 which can become quite expensive but they do offer count down packages where you pay for your weeks in advance and can get weeks for free. For me i joined slimming world after I gained lots of weight after having my son and also through a diet of mainly high fat, high sugar foods which i am now not ashamed to admit. Advantages: Gives you a set plan
Disadvantages: being on a diet

...Well yap I am back, and through my short term break from Ciao I really did not do anything but eat, eat, eat, and ummm eat. I found it too cold to do much bike riding, plus the bearings went out in my rear wheel and that kind of hindered me for a while to. Well what does all this have to do with Slim Fast? After eating, eating, eating, and eating and then not doing my normal 20-40 mile daily bike ride or any going to the gym anymore, I sorta added on a few pounds, well okay about 25 pounds or so. Advantages: Good way to lose weight, Support groups to help, Motivated and Enthusiastic Leaders

I'd tried other diets before, and the weight came off, but as soon as I stopped going to the meetings it all piled back on. I decided to go to Slimming World as 2 other women where I work had started the week before. From what they said it sounded simple and so I went along. The meetings are weekly, and living in Southampton, there were loads of meetings to choose from. They have them most days of the week and at different times, so you can choose when and where you go.
