...I have heard about this hotel chain for a long time and the online £10 supersaver rate looks very attractive. In April 06, I had to attend an event in Slough and the organiser booked me into Travelodge Slough. I was sent a confirmation code and was told that it would be £61 including breakfast. I got into Slough railway station at half seven in the evening and then I was told to take a taxi to the hotel since that's more convenient. It only took a few minutes ride and I paid £3.60 for the taxi. The hotel looks nice from the outside but upon entrance, it looks simple and really a no-frills hotel. There's a queue at the reception and there's only one staff on duty. The other staff with her uniform on told me she's on her break and told me to wait to be served by the staff on duty. Review of Travelodge, Slough

The Innkeeper's Lodge, Slough

Advantages: Clean, comfortable, unfussy, economical
Disadvantages: Under the Heathrow flight path so can be a little noisy at times

...I have stayed at this particular lodge on several occasions on both business and pleasure trips (yes pleasure - I have friends and family in Slough) Having stayed at places like the premier inns, and travel lodges, I have to say that the Innkeepers Lodge would be my preference. My main reason for this is that the rooms at the Innkeepers Lodge are comfortably furnished and tastefully decorated whilst retaining a bright and airy atmosphere. I find that the rooms in the premier inns and travel lodges are too basic and lack character perhaps bordering on the clinical at times. Considering that the Inkeepers Lodge is attached to and part of the Toby Carvery I think that the accommodation they offer is of a very high standard. Judgement Time at the Courtyard Slough / Windsor

Advantages: Convenient location, no fuss, Marriott standards.
Disadvantages: It's clearly Marriott's poor relation - but not a major "con"!

Sloughing sounds Yucky but this is GREAT

Advantages: exfoliates dead skin off, prepares body for moisturiser better, helps clear pores of dead skin and dirt, polishing granules leave skin softer all over

Marriott Slough did not win, Sir!

Advantages: Location. Child friendly.
Disadvantages: Location. Rather too child-friendly!

...Marriott must be absolutely mad! Slough not only sounds disgusting, it even has a poem written about it. In 1937, Sir John Betjeman wrote famously wrote: "Come friendly bombs and fall on Slough! It isn't fit for humans now, There isn't grass to graze a cow. Swarm over, Death!" And many more lines ensue; you get the picture, I'm sure! The first paragraph sets the scene, anyway, for this new town adjacent to London's Heathrow airport. Holiday destination it ain't! And yet Marriott call this hotel "Marriott Slough / Windsor". Why not settle for Windsor (which, with its imposing castle and idyllic location on the river Thames, is lovely)? In the AA hotel guide, you won't find this hotel listed under Slough - nor under Windsor. Nope - look under Heathrow Airport and you'll find it there, just adjacent to junction 5 of the M4...

...Staying at the Travel Lodge in Slough is a good option if you have to stay overnight after a long flight and don?t want to pay through the nose for hotels in the Heathrow airport area. Slough is also close to Legoland and Chessington World of Adventures. We stayed at the Travel Lodge in June, 2002. The double room we had was basic, but we didn?t expect anything else for 50 pounds a night. Our room wasn?t facing a busy road so that was a bonus. What we had was a double bed (with a duvet), a desk and chair, telephone, hairdryer, tea/coffee-making facilities, TV without a remote control for some reason. ...The Premier Travelinn brand is a recent amalgamation of the Premier Lodge and Travel Inn brands. The chain is owned by the Whitbread group and this merger means they now have 460 inns up and down the country. Indeed some big cities have as many as 10 Premier Travelinns within their boundaries. My recent stay was at the Premier Travel Inn, in Slough. Firstly the reason I selected this inn was down to both availability and more importantly in Slough - CAR Parking! I have to visit Slough quite a bit, and many hotels charge for parking, including their nearest competitor Travelodge. It's not just the parking fees that are frustrating - it is the fact you need something like £50 in coins for the week, just to pay for it! Room at the Inn?

Advantages: Price, Modern, No Fuss
Disadvantages: Limited dining options for sole traveller, limited reception support

...Innkeeper's Lodge are a fairly large chain of lodge accommodation style hotels the length and breadth of Britain, from Perth in Scotland down to Plymouth in Devon, England. Until last week, I have never stayed in the chain, but have now made two separate stays at the Slough/Windsor Inn during the last week or so. This Inn is located conveniently just off the M4 J5 and across London Road from the less attractive and undoubtedly more expensive Marriott Slough/Windsor. Innkeeper's Lodge do not compete with full service three and four star hotels, and nor do they attempt to do.
