Review of Toys (DVD)

Toy Story: One for the children.

Advantages: Good gameplay, alright graphics, fun for the kids.
Disadvantages: Unmemorable music, will become quickly boring to adults.

...Baby B has plenty of Taggie toys and this is one of the first ones we bought her. Mrs B and I are always on the look out for yet more presents to spoil our girl with and when we saw this dino we couldn't resist him. Taggies are quite a new 'invention' they come in all different guises from comfort blankets to squeaky toys, rattles and even baby grows now as well as pillows! They were designed due to the fact that babies are always so very interested in the tags on their toys. Every time we give Baby B a new toy she is more interested in the label than the actual toy itself and so that's why Taggies are so good- the labels are a part of the toy! DS - Cool Toy!

...What a fun little gadget. It's small but lovely. Its just what you expect from Nintendo. It's very small, but the screen is very clear to see. Its very easy to use, so it a good little tool to keep the kids quite for a little while. The DS, has been out a while now, so there are plenty of games for it, which range from around a fiver to about £25. Its also touch screen which makes this little thing a bit more entertaining. The price for these little bad boys is relatively good value for money, so if you have an extra bit of cash lying around and you feel that your a bit bored, then I would recommend that you get one of these little toys to keep you entertain for hours on end. ...I have been very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the toys for the prices that they are sold at in Tesco. They sell a fair range of toys. I find they are very definately for boys or for girls, don't do such a range of unisex toys (in my branch anyway). I have a son, and I have bought quite a lot of his toy cars and cuddlies (when baby) from here. The best value in my eyes is the wooden train sets. Trains/carriages are 99p each (they are the magnetic sort) and you can either buy a basic figure of eight track or a larger set that has trees, people, cows etc in. They have a wide range of accessories like - tunnel, level crosing, ticket office/station (with sounds), platform, turntable etc. The extra's start from about £3 each and are not that expensive. Good Things come in Small packages!

Advantages: An easy watch, great actors, enjoyable
Disadvantages: None unless you don't like choirs and music!

...Despite having hundreds of channels on our Sky television service, there is seldom anything to watch on there which is often disappointing. We often sit watching DVDs or just reading because there is nothing to watch, so when something of interest comes on, I set it to record and look forward to watching it on a quiet evening. I came across "All the Small Things" by chance when skimming through the TV Guide and thought it sounded more watchable than 90% of the rubbish on. I got around to watching the first episode days after it started and was hooked. The show has now finished, but it was a delightful watch and I hope it'll be back for a second series. All The Small Things was a drama shown in April and May on BBC1 at 9pm for one hour. There were 6 episodes in total, and it hasn't been confirmed whether it will be back or not...

Toys for the Boys

Advantages: Great cast and jokes - narrative is gripping and exciting
Disadvantages: having to wait too long for a sequel!

...This really was a film of my childhood, as I was about 4 or 5 years old when it frist came out and this gives me the advantage of being able to view it from two different perspectives - as the child that the film was aimed at, and as an adult who takes an active interest in films, especially films from disney, as it is a company that has successfully changed with the times since the thirties.
