...One of my daughters' favourite books has always been 'Guess How Much I Love You?' by Sam Bratney because it is such a cute story. That is why, when we spotted another of his books - It's Lovely when you Smile - at the local library we just had to book it out. We were so pleased that we did because it is just as sweet, cute and loveable as the other and is also bound to become a favourite! The only problem is that I think the girls are going to object when we have to return it so I will probably have to go out and buy it! This story is all about Roo, a small kangaroo and his mum. Educational fun.

Advantages: Versatilty, price.
Disadvantages: The pencil is a little too thin

...This is the first handheld console I have ever owned. I'm 27 years old. The main reason I purchased the DS was so I could play 'Brain Training Games' or other Educational games. I played on a friends and found it very entertaining, I figured that if I bought one myself I'd challenge myself mentally and wouldn't just sit around watching TV! The best thing about the DS is the genre of games available for it, similar to the WII - Nintendo decided to target a different audience than the stereotypical gamers. I feel the succeeded in doing so. I read an article that a school had introduced the use of Nintendo DSs into children's mathematics lesson, with results of better learning and improved concentration. I am also a teacher and my children loved testing their knowledge on various maths games. The feel of the DS is also very nice...

...Colgate Smiles toothpaste....... Jack is now 2 years old and I have been brushing his teeth regularly since they first popped up at around 10 months. However I have only recently changed to using this toothpaste as the age range on it if from 2 years to 6 years of age so I couldn't have really been using this for Jack any sooner than now. The bonus of buying this toothpaste in the last few weeks is that Tesco have had around 20pence off the price so it has been selling for £1 a price that I find rather good seeing as a whole tube does last a good month or so. Jack brushes his teeth morning and evening and loves using this toothpaste. One reason for him liking it so much is the fact that on the packaging it has pictures of Shrek and other characters from the film. Jack hasn't seen the film but he does like to look...

Smile - mostly good for you !

...I've used Smile as my main account for six years and have very pleased with their service. Any difficulties, you can send an enquiry via their website, and you get a prompt and helpful reply. However, I recently had a problem (when completing my tax return) because the account transactions are only available on-line for ten months. For earlier transactions a charge of £10 is made for a paper copy - apparently they are stored on micro-film. Not very helpful when the tax return relates to a period which started maybe 18 months earlier. Information about this aspect of Internet accounts is surprisingly difficult to find but I've been making some enquiries at recommended banks. One gave the absurd figure of six months. But I've found two which offer 27 months on-line availability: Nationwide and First Direct. So I'm planning to leave...

I looked at the competition – EGG, IF, CAHOOT and settled, in the end, on SMILE. I opened purely a ‘Savings’ account, but they offer a cheque book current account too. You also get a free £500 overdraft with the current account, plus a slightly higher interest rate on your Savings account balance...

SMILE was my first choice of internet bank as I was aware that they had an excellent customer reputation and importantly to me also, they only invested in ethical practices with their money. Smile - A Reason To Be Cheerful

...Smile is an internet and telephone bank, one that does without the high street branch. But that doesn't prevent it offering great customer service, and a variety of decent products. It's part of the Co-operative Bank, so its customers can make use of Co-op branches if really necessary, however in the 4 or so years I've been a customer of smile, I've only had to use a branch once - everything else I was able to complete online or over the telephone. My first Smile product was a cash ISA, but that was joined by a Smile (joint) current account about three years ago, and a credit card shortly afterwards. To be honest, I've got nothing but good things to say about the company. So, onto the details: 1. Smile pays 30 times the interest rate of other current account banks. .... Thier student package is very good. £2000 interest free overdraft. Excellent for the drinking and partying months ahead if you are aged 18-25! A £500 free overdraft for us normal people too! That is very useful. The best bit is it can all be handled over the web. The bottom line.... Smile.co.uk makes me grimace. That pop up haunts me in my sleep.... DING DING!...
