Cornish Heaven! (Waitrose Cornish Quartz Cheddar)

Advantages: Strong flavour and a lovely buttermilk colour.
Disadvantages: None although of course cheese is full of cholesterol.

...I rather like a nice chunk of strong cheddar and often go for Canadian as these rich cheeses are lovely with chutney and crackers. However recently I noticed a new cheese in Waitrose which is also available through the online delivery company Ocado called Cornish Quartz. There is something about the name which really appealed to me, so I purchased a small piece first to see if I liked it. Waitrose have done the correct thing here, I feel, which is to sell the cheese in three sizes. At the moment Ocado have a half price offer selling the smallest piece for £1.34 for 100g, and the largest is £1.97 for 350g so it is an excellent time to see if you like it. www.ocado.com The cheese is actually made by The Davidstow Creamery who are famous for only using milk produced in Devon and Cornwall to make their cheeses, supporting local farmers...

Smoky Bacon Infused With Spices

Advantages: nice tomato and bacon flavours
Disadvantages: too spicy for me

...I do like pasta but always like a nice sauce with them and get sick of the same old recipes. I was in my local supermarket and decided to have a look and see what there was, I do like a good brand but don't like paying more than £1.50 for a sauce as I feel it gets a bit much. This is when I came across the Lloyd Grossman pasta sauce which I have had before but have not tried many of the flavours. The one that I have chosen to write about today is the Smoky Bacon sauce which I cooked yesterday. Lloyd does quite a range of sauces and other things; he does pasta sauces, Indian sauces and Oriental sauces so quite a lot of different cultures. ...I got an "Accurist Quartz Multi-Function Alarm Chronograph" watch bought for me as a present. It was expensive looking (so it should be for 120 quid!) and had loads of the usual functions - alarm, stop-watch, countdown timer, could tell times in God-knows how many countries... etc... etc. Along with the "normal" chrono hour and minute hands it has three little dials - one to signify day/month, one for 12/24 hr, and one for which function you were in. Looks superb (even now)..! Smoky eyes instantly and easily

Advantages: Easy to use, great range of colours, high quality product, doesn't crease

This was all very easy to do as the powder is so finely pigmented - it doesn't fall off your eyelids or the brush while you're trying to apply it, so there's no wastage and no mess. --Texture-- A very fine, shimmery powder. I think all of the MAC pigments have some sort of shimmer or pearlescence to them. On the eyelids the powder feels very smooth and non-irritating. --Appearance-- While this could so easily look over the top, it really doesn't. With the smoky grey, brown and black shades, you can create smoky eyes with ease without looking like you've been in a fight. --Longevity-- Utterly perfect. I haven't attempted it without a primer, but with my usual combination of eye cream + primer before the application of the shadow, it lasted all day. --Value for money-- Not very much of the product...

...-Brilliant song and probably my favourite on the album! It's smooth background beat and smoky melody make it one of those tracks you cant help but skip to! ACE! Where Do I Belong-Good song but not the most memorable. Easy to skip this track if you aren't in the mood to listen to the whoel album! Maybe Today-Another good song but Anastacia swears in it! *GASP* Then again everybody swears so i guess it makes her more human, this song seems to have come from a personal experience maybe, very heart felt! ...got on with it and that is what is wrong the Country seems to dither on opinions and in my mind it can sometimes be the wrong opinions that they follow. Smokers also claim that they should have freedom of choice, I totally agree but where is the freedom of choice for people eating their meal when someone behind lights up a cigarette which can infact ruin their meal. Passive smoking can lead to low birth weights in childbirth and cot deaths in infancy, then as children grow up in the smoky atmosphere they have the risk of developing mild ear infections, asthma, bronchitis, Pneumonia is this freedom of choice? Worse still in adults that live with a smoking partner have an increased risk of Heart Disease, Lung cancer, Nasal Cancer and strokes, all of these are disputed by smokers stating that there has not been any proven evidence, maybe...

...Forever on the look out for a bargain when I do my weekly shop, I was seeking an alternative to the garlic bread baguettes which I usually serve with my pasta dishes. As if by magic, the chiller cabinet in Morrisons beckoned me with its cunning BOGOFF charm (that's "Buy One Get One For Free" to save you all worrying that the chiller had gone bad!!). *** I SPY WITH MY BARGAIN EYE *** In the chiller cabinet I found a new offering from the well known bakers "Kingsmill" - a Smoky BBQ Ciabatta, part of their new "Heat & Share" range. As ciabatta is an Italian bread, traditionally made with olive oil to give it a lovely moist texture and Mediterranean taste, I felt that this would go well with my Italian meal.
