About Ronnie O'Sullivan Arguably the most gifted player ever to hold a cue, current World Champion, Ronnie O'Sullivan, has been thrilling crowds since he turned professional at just 16 years of age. He is the ultimate crowd-pleaser, playing exquisite shots with either hand at lightning pace. At the 1997 World Championships he achieved a maximum 147 break in just 5 minutes and 20 seconds - an almost incredible feat. In 2001 he ended his long hoodoo by winning the World Championship, and repeated the achievement in 2004. He is one of only 5 players to win the UK and World titles in the same year. Like Alex Higgins and Jimmy White, Ronnie is often thought of as a loveable rogue and he is sure to inherit Jimmy's 'People's Champion' mantle. Like Alex, he's had his share of disciplinary problems but tickets for a Ronnie O'Sullivan match are always the first to sell out. As his friend and mentor, Ray Reardon, said, I've never seen anybody who could play the game better than this boy."

Status: New - Jimmy White has been beaten six times in the final of the snooker world championship and on at least two of those occasions it was easier for him to have won than lost. But at the death White always managed to pull defeat from the jaws of victory. It is now likely he will be remembered only as the people's champion but he isn't complaining. White has made a fortune and then lost a good chunk of it, mostly through gambling. He's been in trouble with the law, had his share of tabloid exposes and pushed his marriage to the edge of collapse. But if one thing comes out of this sparky autobiography it is that White is a chancer and he will always keep going. Behind the White Ball starts with an illiterate teenager getting both a street education and an income hustling in a south London snooker hall and ends with an older, a bit wiser, and literate man still making a living from his cue. But in between there is all the mayhem you could ask for; escaping irate locals after taking the money off the customers in a Liverpool snooker hall; fetching up a bit too often for his wife's peace of mind at Ronnie Wood's place--"although when I hang out with The Stones I end up making the tea"--and, bizarrely, attending Chelsea matches with Peter Cook. Whirlwind stuff indeed. --Nick Wroe
No review would be complete without a mention of Jimmy White, the people’s hero. Known as the whirlwind I have no idea why he is chosen above other players, except his exciting play and have-a-go-hero personality.
Snooker is a great game, try it!...

Review of JimmyWhite
...I have been playing pool for years, and I was truly gutted when my cue went missing. I figured it was time to buy a new one, but I wanted one which not only looked nice, but which I could play well with. After about 2 weeks of searching on the Internet, I came up with the Peradon king. It looked good, and it had everything I would ever need in a snooker cue.
Something I have often found...
Advantages: excellent graphics, accurate physics, many extras. Disadvantages: perhaps a little too hard for the non-snooker-player.
...This game is made by the people at "awesome develpoments", and published by Virgin interactive. This being the sequel to the top-selling Jimmy white's Cueball in 1993, and as you would expect, this game is a massive improvement of the origonal, because of the graphical capabilities of today's machines over the PCs you could by in the early 90s.
This is the first thing that catches your...
