...My family is big on tradition at Christmas whether it be the way we make Christmas lunch, lay out our stockings or hand out boxing day presents. Some of the stranger traditions involve cartoons or films that we watch, one of those being the incredibly strange "Elmchanted Forest" which we watched by accident one Christmas morning only to find it being showed again the following year, from then on it became a regular event every Christmas morning. Snow White - 70 years and still as good as ever

Advantages: The dwarves, the animals, the imagery and the sense of fun
Disadvantages: A few old fashioned features - particularly some of the songs/singing voices!

Snow White-The next installment

Advantages: A good sequel
Disadvantages: I don't like the Prince, the villain scared me as a child!

...Well, where to start with this. This was the scariest cartoon I had as a child and I still think it is creepy now! This is the continuation of the Disney classic we all know and love. It is not Disney, it is Starvison Filmation's Snow White In "Happily Ever After". Basically, it starts off where the Disney one finishes. Snow White is happily getting married to her Prince (who has no name apparently!) and is riding off into the sunset with him. She wants to invite the seven dwarfs to the wedding, so they are going to ask them. Snow White stops to pick some flowers in a field, and thinking that she has nothing to fear with the wicked Queen gone, she happily takes her time. Then, out of nowhere a huge dragon swoops down and grabs her and flys away with her. The Prince manages to shoot the dragon's leg with an arrow and he lets Snow...

I'm Dreaming of a White ...Snow Bite

Advantages: Creamy, different and quenches your need for sweet stuff
Disadvantages: Packaged in two's and needs a handy pocket sized fridge to keep the spare in.

...Have you noticed that shops start selling sweets for Christmas in August – I went into my local Woolworths shop in August and they were selling those Advent calendars with chocolates in them. It seems the Christmas season gets longer and longer, but there are up sides to this – any Christmas season special edition chocolates are on the market for longer too!! Due to an intolerance to caffeine I can only eat white chocolate – so when there’s something new on the market, I have to try it as soon as I can, and I also get exceedingly excited at the prospect of trying something new. The most delicious snowballs I have ever tasted

...I had some time waiting for my flight at Gatwick so I went to Boots and checked their products. I have bought a pack of Cadbury Snow Bites for 1.20 pounds. I haven?t seen this kind of sweets in Sainsbury?s before so I had to try it. Packing ---------- It comes in a Cadbury purple wrapper with a winter design: houses and trees covered with snow. The Snow Bites label looks like it was written with a snowball. There are snowballs all over the wrapper. The sweets are actually chocolate balls covered with a crispy white dusted shell. The Scent of Snow? No!

Advantages: Pretty glass jar with snowflake print is seasonal and ideal for a decorated living room
Disadvantages: Smell not really what they claim, burns faster than suggested, after scent can be pungent

I have a terrible fear of fire and have sadly read of too many house fires caused by candles, but now and again I do like to have a scented candle burning and I like candles in particular at Christmas. I spied in Morrisons last week Glade scented candles on offer for £1.46, which seemed reasonable to me, so I picked up a ?Glistening Snow? candle to burn beside my Christmas tree in the evenings. The Candle What drew me towards this candle was, I will admit, the winter theme. Packaged in an attractive blue and white box, the candle sits inside a glass jar which has snowflakes printed upon it.
