An Amber Gem Full Of Nostalgia! (Pears Soap)

Advantages: Cleans beautifully and smells fresh and clean.

Happy ones when I first met my husband in 1978; his mum always used this soap, and when I went to stay at his house I will always remember this sturdy chunk of nostalgia perched on the side of the bath in its little dish. Advantages: All the plots in advance, must read!
Disadvantages: Some people don't like the spoilers, too many adverts

...Inside Soap Magazine is an absolute must for any soap fan! It gives you all the information you could need on upcoming plots that you just can't wait till it's aired to find out about. It's also great if you're going away or unable to watch the shows, so you can still catch up on everything that has happened. Inside Soap has all the plots and a 7 day TV guide a week in advance, which can be annoying that you have to keep the previous weeks magazine for the TV guide. The magazine is quite pricey at £1.30 and is a weekly magazine, which comes out every Tuesday. It can be purchased at most newsagents. The magazine always contains a letter from the editor, currently Steven Murphy; soap star style, which contains a picture of a soap star on an event wearing a great outfit, and providing a cheaper version and where you can buy it...

Soap..Soap..Soap!!!

Advantages: 20% Shea Butter, beautifully moisturising

...There I was on one lazy Sunday afternoon flicking through the channels. Carefully not over doing it or straining my finger..I paused on that lovely tackorama channel QVC. Well there were these two grown women..literally orgasming over this small tablet of soap. I was'nt really taking much notice until they stated that it was made with 20% Shea Butter. Now I have used the Body Shops' Shea Butter moisturiser, and really liked it. And having really dry skin, I am constantly looking for something that will put a bit of moisture back into it and get rid of that tight feeling. A soap full of surprises

Advantages: Smells nice, good on sensitive skin

...I didn't actually buy Milky Bar soap, I received a small piece as a sample absolutely ages ago when having a bit of a splurge in Lush. This is not a soap I would have chosen for myself, nor is it one that I was particularly eager to try - hence why it has sat in a drawer for months on end! For me, if I'm going to pay the sort of prices Lush charge for a soap, then I want something special from it. Ideally I'd like it to smell amazing, and if it looks good or has some sort of quirkiness about it as many of the Lush soaps do, all the better. When looking at this soap in the shop, I felt it had neither of these things. Soap Me Up!

Advantages: Cleans and is Very Cheap

...Tesco Value Soap.......... This is not a product that I would usually buy but with things being to tight at the moment I thought I might as well give it a try. I am not too sure what my partner does with the soap as it seems to go down rather rapidly and we go through tons of the stuff. Up until now I have been buying Dove gentle soap but because I have all my lotions and potions for my face I never use soap on my face which is why I wasn't too fussed about trying this stuff. For three bars of large soap, you pay a meagre 17 pence! This is a total bargain compared to the price of a bar of Dove soap, which is nearer to a pound for just one bar! Of course you are not paying for the packaging as the three bars comes in a clear cellophane wrapper with the usual Tesco Value stripe across it and not much else. It gives ingredients list...

Simply Great Soap

Advantages: non drying, natural ingredient based soap
Disadvantages: not moisturising though non drying, stings if gets in eyes so careful use is advised

One part will be made up of ingredients that are water binding, and most of the rest will be fatty acids that are water repellent. Basically the soap grabs dirt, grease and bacteria and bind them to the particles that are also water repellent , and rubbing the skin in water causes it all to wash off into the water due to the water binding portions. Soap literally makes dirt and germs become slippery and to slip off of the skin into the water and down the drain. This means that normal soap is very efficient at removing unseen bacteria as well as visible dirt, and extra antibacterial cleansers are not usually necessary. Nor are antibacterial soaps...

The cover is enough to draw you into the world of soap as it is covered with great little snippets of stories from the soaps and just asks to be read from cover to cover. Upon opening the cover we have a great contents page which tells you all you need to know to find the stories. The magazine is full of inside scoop about the current weeks adventures in each and every soap and gives a great view to the plot lines with interviews and words from the cast members included in each story. We have a very handy glance at each soap and what happens in each episode, so if you unfortunately miss an episode you can easily catch up. Soap Nuts for laundry

Advantages: cheap, extremely eco friendly
Disadvantages: The bag can get lost in the washing and end up all over the house nowhere near the machine!

...I've spent a long time looking for an effective eco-friendly washing system and I think this is the best. I've tried supermarket own brands, ecover, bio d etc and soap nuts come out on top by far. Spread the word. And I'm learning that you can use them for all sorts of cleaning from household to personal. I get mine from Spirit of Nature. There so simple and so effective - working well to remove most stains and more then the other eco brands that I've tried. For stubborn tomato stains I use sunshine to return white to white and for heavy grease and chocolate I use a little bit of washing up liquid. We have really hard water so I'm really pleased with the result - if you're lucky enough to have soft water they'll probably be even more effective. Happy eco-washing Sarah...

Soap for your little squirt!

Advantages: Nice smell
Disadvantages: No lather, disintegrates too quickly, you need to use a lot

...Harry always used to love baths as a baby, but after some unfortunate showers and sea experiences when we went to Mauritius just over a year ago, he has hated anything to do with the water and still does. We have to manhandle him into the bath, wash him as quickly as humanly possible and then get him out again, its just a nightmare! I have been trying to find things to make the bath more fun, from foam letters to ducks but nothing has helped. When I saw this Peppa Pig squirty soap in Boots, I thought it'd be worth a try and indeed he didn't scream as much as last time we bathed him! Result! Peppa Pig is a hugely popular children's TV show shown on Five and Nick Jnr, and is aimed at toddlers.
