Dont buy it Ewbank 940 Power sweeper

...February 2008 I purchased a Ewbank 940 Power sweeper. Immediately on unpacking I saw there was no manual. I sent an e mail to Ewbank and they responded with an attached Adobe File. Putting it together I found the handle swivelled round so I sent this back and it was replaced. Quickly I discovered that it worked on a flat thin carpet sometimes chugging but not on mats I had which are 1.25 cm deep. The dustpan tipped over depositing its contents on the mat. Within the guarantee 12 mth period it stopped charging, further e-mails were sent and two batteries were despatched to me to replace those inside the dustpan cavity. I could not remove the contacts from the old batteries as I have weak hands. As well the tubes of the long handle fit together with pressure and plastic screws between the ends of each tube. My 1994 940 SE Turbo has 115k miles with a full Volvo service history and this reflects a silky smooth engine, excellent engine torque, tight suspension handling breaking and steering. Carrying out maintenance my self, I recently changed the complete ignition system, consisting of Volvo HT leads, distributor, rotor, spark plugs and ignition coil. This surprisingly reduced the idling speed considerably and the lurch caused by the automatic transmission when selecting drive. Review of Volvo 940

Volvo 940 ESTATE 2.0 litre

Advantages: Good reliable car, easy and cheap to maintain. Good bodywork.
Disadvantages: Slow acceleration, but great after 60mph. Cruise at ninety all day.

...I have owned a 940 estate manual 5 speed for eight years. It had 111,000 miles on the clock when I bought it; it had been a one owner car and had all of the service details. I have just covered another 100,000 miles in it and it is still running well. Changed the clutch at 195,000, changed the alternator at 175,000, although it was still working ok. Bosch alternators are generally good for 200,000 so the change was just for extra reliability. Front discs were changed at 203,000, the rack was changed at 207,000 and that was only because of a slight knock on an inner ball joint. Not worth fiddling around for the price of a recon unit. Other than that no other problems have been experienced. I change the oil and filter at 4000 mile intervals, I can do this job in under fifteen minutes. If you want a reliable workhorse get a VOLVO 940

..., I have been the very proud owner of a lovely red Volvo 940SE. The car is 12 years old and cost me the princely sum of £300!! I cannot praise this car enough. Yes, it does have a fair few gizmos -- but they ALL WORK. It is unspeakably comfortable and cruises at 70 - 80 MPH on the motorway quite effortlessly and this is a car with 153,000 miles on the clock.!! Another plus factor is that there are no rattles or squeaks at all! It has a 5 speed manual gearbox, is EXCELLENT on fuel (I never expected that) and starts first time, every time!. The handling of this car is superb, like a new car and the space is amazing considering that it is the saloon model. The boot is cavernous and the back seat folds down to give even more space. There is also a very nifty child seat which folds down onto the back seat in much the same way as an armrest...

Inexpensive High-End performance Processor Phenom II X4 940

I choose it because I need more powerful performance to operate my favorite games and some design graphics activity which need high end peripherals requirement to run smooth. Advantages: Less electric than CRT, smaller footprint, better image, lower heat output
Disadvantages: Software average, where do you put that old CRT?

...tune your settings. To be honest I would avoid using the software as occasionally it errors when starting and in truth all the adjustments you need to make are hardwired into the monitor menu's. Mine is paired with an ATI card and games run in superb blistering colour with no ghosting. The preset brightness is a little harsh and you will probably need to adjust this. Mine came complete with DVI cable, I would guess that you would be mildly disappointed were you to pair it up with an analogue card. Why would you anyway? There is a widescreen model (940BW) which I suggest you may also be interested in... One last thing the manual is on CDROM, I always prefer the paper things myself!...

A good safety product

...The betterware socket guard is very simple to use and a very good way to keep your children's prying fingers safe for a very little price! It's different to other products on the market as instead of just slotting into the actual plug, this slots onto the entire socket so it will cover up both the plugs and the plugs inside are still usable so it's not taking up the plug space! It just comes in one standard size- the size of a general double plug socket which is 15x9 cm and is 3xcm wide so large enough to accomdate the plugs within. It is available in white, I haven't seen it in any stores or online stores in any other colour. I presume this is because the majority of sockets are white. You don't need any tools to put it onto the socket either, it's really simplea nd straight forward to clip on. I think it's a great product...

...Baby & child safety should always be the main priority in any household and this is no exception in my sister's house with 4 children under the age of 14. 12 white socket covers are available from Mothercare for £4.99 and these are available online or in store. The covers are just white plastic covers which go in to 13 amp plug sockets and help to prevent little fingers from inserting their fingers in to a plug socket and giving themselves a potentially fatal electric shock. They are very easy to use and you little just plug them in, in the same way that you would a standard plug and to remove them may take a minute or two and you simply put your finger under the left or right edge and pull them out (make sure the plug socket is turned off first). This may be a little frustrating if you are in a hurry or just an impatient person...
