Luxury from the Sofitel

Advantages: Gorgeous rooms, nice facilities and great location
Disadvantages: Price may be too much for those on a budget

...On a recent work trip to Paris I went to see a variety of hotels - in fact I saw quite a few of the same hotel chains including the Mercure, Novotel and Sofitel and from the Sofitel chain this was one of them; Sofitel Le Faubourg. The Hotel: The Sofitel Le Faubourg is a luxury hotel in the heart of the city centre. A four star hotel that has a variety of room types and an elegant style it has a range of amenities to suit every type of holiday maker. Location: The Le Faubourg hotel has a brilliant location in terms of how of how central it is to the Champs Elysee and so not far from many of Paris' main sights and also in terms of the fact it is on a road that is not directly open to traffic unless specifically going to a building on the street. Advantages: Location
Disadvantages: Quality of rooms

...I have just come back from Paris having spent 2 nights at the France Louvre. This is my review.... Location The best part of staying at the France Louvre was the location, right in the centre of Paris with great transport links. Metro station 'Chatelet- Les Halles' is only a 5-min walk away and seems to be a main station of Paris. The location of this Hotel is particularly useful if you are travelling on Eurostar as Chatelet station is only one stop away from the Gard Du Nord Eurostar terminal (Line B - Blue line). Also if you are visiting Stade De France this is only two stops away on the same line. After a game at the Stade De France you can be back to the hotel within 15 minutes providing you don't get caught up in queues!! This hotel is also a couple of minutes away from the Seine and around 10 minutes walk to the Louvre...

Elysees Opera/America Opera Hotel - Paris, France.

Advantages: Location, Room Size
Disadvantages: Facilities offered were minimal.

...and Disneyland Paris. It is also in walking distance of Montmartre and Le Galleries Lafayette. I felt that our hotel was in a prime location making it easy for us to get around the city. Paris itself is a very noisy city; being the capital of France this should be expected. There is always a lot of noise around including during the evenings and at night time. The fact that our hotel was situated in such an area did not make it any better; this was clearly visible with our balcony doors open. However, the hotel offers soundproofed rooms, as standard to combat this noise, of which I will go into more detail later. Overall for the location I would give it a 9/10, we never struggled to find anything that we were looking for, apart from the hotel itself in the first instance. Everything is easily accessible, and with a Patisserie and small shop...

Great little find in Paris- Hotel France Albion

Advantages: Fantastic location and large sized room!

...Fresh off the plane from paris i thought I'd share my thoughts on this hotel in Paris where my best friend and I spent a long weekend. We chose the hotel for its location- close to shopping district and centre of Paris and we werent disappointed there. We were feeling confident about the hotel as we had had good communication with them before we left- we had changed dates and asked to leave our luggage in the hotel as we were arriving early. We were not disappointed when we arrived- the outside of the hotel was a freshly painted blue. of all the buildings in the street it was by far the best cared for giving a very good impression. inside, the staff could not have been more friendly and willing to help. we spoke in French to them but I did hear them speaking English with other guests. the desk is manned 24/7 which was a relief...

Euro Disney Paris, France

Advantages: A quick taster of Disney parks, easier to get to, great hotels close by
Disadvantages: Can work out very expensive if your not careful

...We went the week before Christmas to get us in the spirit of things, on a 4 day deal for the price of 3. Different ways of getting there include: Euro tunnel and driving Euro Star takes you right to the resort Or Flying As there was 10 of us we took two motors and caught an early train. You should arrive 45 minutes before departure at the Euro Tunnel but don't panic if u do miss your alloted time, very often you can catch another one without the extra cost of it. We took the 6am train with a journey totalling 35 minutes over to Calais, France. From there it's head towards Paris direction under the Charles de Gaulle Runway. Journey time from the Euro tunnel is about 3 half hours depending on stops and traffic. The hotel we stayed in was the 2nd best in Euro Disney called The New York, which is a taste of The Big Apple...

We stayed in budget accommodation all around the world, some of it was good enough and the rest well thankfully we survived unscathed. However when we arrived in Sydney things changed. My girlfriends mum had treated us to a hotel break away in the Sofitel for four nights as our Christmas present -------------------Our arrival-------------------- We arrived into Sydney from Bali, but arrived at the domestic terminal as we changed at Darwin in the early hours of the morning. We jumped in a taxi straight outside the airport. Taxis appeared to be plentiful which can be rare at airports sometimes. The taxi driver instantly offered us two routes to get to the hotel. Formal elegance

...I have recently been to Paris as many people who read a lot of my reviews will know and another hotel that I saw whilst there was the Sofitel Arc De Triomphe. This hotel was another one of my favourites due to the nice standard although I did prefer the sister hotel Sofitel Le Faubourg out of the two. The hotel: As I am sure is obvious by now from my opening statement the hotel is part of the Sofitel chain. It is classed as a 4 star luxury hotel and is certainly fair to say it is. The hotel is more of a classic luxury type rather than modern luxury by the way it is designed and the style of the rooms.
