Nokia N97 - 'The new iPhone'

... Intro Being the previous owner of a Sony Ericsson w850 for over 2 years, I decided that it was time for a mobile phone upgrade. I had a few different phones in mind, the Apple iPhone, Nokia N97, Nokia 5800 Xpress Music and the HTC Touch Pro, in the end I chose to buy the new Nokia N-Series phone. It was a clear choice over the iPhone because of the price, also you do not have to buy the phone AND pay a monthly contract fee with the N97. Buying The Phone After choosing the phone I decided that I wanted to switch to contract instead of pay as you go. At the time the phone was only available on the Vodafone and Orange networks, but I believe that you can get it on most major networks now. I had previously been with Orange and wasn't too impressed with their service, so I chose Vodafone, they also had better deals for the N97...

Review - The Nokia N97 vs The iPhone 3GS

Advantages: Good Looking, Durable, Huge Memory, Very Very Good QWERTY keyboard
Disadvantages: Tiny processor leading to lag and application crashes

Nokias most recent attack on i-phone succes or failure

...as a owner and user of the nokia n97 i can say i am overall very happy with the improvements that nokia have made on previous models i.e N96 and N95. Lets face it all of us who went from owning an N95 to what nokia seem to believe was a better model (N96) were extremely dissapointed as although looking good on paper the N96 failed to meet the standards of its pre- deccesor but i am glad to say nokia have redeemed themselves on the launch of the N97. There have been many improvements made on previous models i.e the processor is alot faster and the slow transitions between menus has been completely iradicated due to the massive 32Gb memory which can still be increased to a huge 48GB by the handy memory slot tucked away under the rear cover of the phone. Another improvement on previous models is the slider mechanism after a few minor issues...

great phone, hopefully better than n96

...hey guys! this phone is great. no two ways about it. havent personally heard of any problems occurring with software, which happened quite quickly with the original n95 and the n96, so hopefully this is getting better. STORAGE the phone itself comes complete with 32GB of storage, a massive amount for a phone, with the iphone only offering a 16GB max. also ,the N97 has expandable storage of an extra 16GB, so thats a massive 48GB in total! plenty of space for movies (which you can watch) tv shows, music photos etc. DISPLAY 3.5inch screen which has a handy little tilt in it, so you can actually set it flat on a table and still use the keypad, much like a teeny weeny laptop, or you can watch your movies etc like that. 16m colours so very high quality. ...97.4 Rock FM is my City, Preston Lancashire's local radio station. (I mean that as in it's aired from Preston, but is available all over the North West of England). It's one of the main stations I listen to. I'm always switching from this to BBC's Radio 1 to Smooth FM! I don't know why it's called Rock FM, because it isn't a total Rock station. It plays R'n'B, Pop, Hip-Hop, Rap, Dance etc, all the music that's in now, plus some classic tunes on certain shows, so don't be mislead by it's name. ●DJ's● There's quite a few different DJ's on Rock FM, here are the DJ's and the shows that they present. ...Office 97 is an very good suite of products bundled together. It comprises of Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint (plus a few other useful utils). Word is an excellent word processor that has great functionality including on-line spell checker, mail merge, etc, and it is very easy to use. Excel is a very good spreadsheet that allow you to create simple and very complex speadsheets, it also include chart facilities to create graphs, etc. Access is a database product that allows you to create databases to store information (ie. Address, Products, etc), this is very useful but to get the most out of this product some programming skills are required. Powerpoint is an excellent presentation product, this allows you to create graphics presentations that can include sound and animations. I recommend anybody that needs to create documents...
