Boots Soltan Sun Care Lotion - SPF50+

Advantages: High protection and mostly reliable
Disadvantages: Sometimes hard to get just the right amount

...I spent 6 weeks in California this June and July, so went prepared with lots of sun cream as I'm known to burn easily - especially my face, shoulders, and feet. I chose SPF 50+ from the Boots Soltan range, as it was cheaper than the same SPF in other brands (on BOGOFF at the time) and offered the highest SPF available. I also took Boots Soltan After sun with me, but that's a separate review. ~ - ~ Soltan ~ - ~ Soltan is the Boots own brand sun cream and as such is only available from Boots stores. The sun protection products are in yellow/orange bottles and the after sun range is in a 'cooling' blue color. There are both Lotions and Sprays available, and also several variations of the basic sun cream - kids, baby, wasp and insect repellent, extra tanning, and some others. I used the original kind. Advantages: Gentle on skin, nice smell, well protecting
Disadvantages: Bit pricey

Advantages: easy to apply, absorbs well, good protection
Disadvantages: goes runny in the heat.

...I have always used Soltan sun protection whenever i go abroad as i have got a boots card and have heard that it is one of the only ones with 5 star uva protection. On my recent holiday I took factors 40 and 15 as I was ussure of the weather The product comes in a bright yellow bottle and I chose the 200ml size, although I am sure you can get a larger size as well. I prefer the squeeze dispenser to the spray as I had difficulty in aiming the spray. The cream is easily applied and is not too greasy and absorbs easily into the skin. It seems to last even after swimming, as long as you are careful not to towel dry too rigorously! I am extremely pleased to say that I have never once been sun burnt whilst using this product and would not use any other brand. Boots "12 hour" Aftersun lotion

Advantages: Much less peeling, smells okay, absorbs quicky
Disadvantages: just smells like aftersun, bottle gets messy

Self Tan Shimmering Lotion - Soltan Self Tan

Advantages: No streakes, golden shimmer, worth the cost
Disadvantages: Light smell

...This product is fantastic. I have tried eco tan, st tropez (far to orange) and all with the same results. I am fair to freckly so I do not want to put a self tan on and be orange the following day. This fake tan looks real, natural and properly sunkissed . It is easily absorbed, it contains a light shimmer so you can see where you have put it, it washes off the hands easily and leaves no marks between your fingers. If you have dry areas on knees or elbows it does not stain these. And you can put it on just before you go out and it looks like you have lightly dusted yourself in body glitter. This is a must buy product. For extra effect I also used the Soltan Pre Self Tan exfoliator and you dont have to pre moisturise your body either before applying the fake tan!!...

exfoliating lotion

Advantages: tightens pores, reduces pimples and blackheads..exfoliates!
Disadvantages: can smell like pure alcohol..can dry the skin out if not using the right lotion for your skin
