Mario and Sonic in the Olympics?
Advantages: Graphics
Disadvantages: See review
...Mario and Sonic have come together to make a game called "Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games" this game was made for the 2008 Olympic Games in China. It isn't a promo game and is still around. But is it worth it?
GAMEPLAY
You can choose from a variety of different games, like 100m, 100m freestyle, table tennis, pole vault etc. These are fun, but some of the controls are hard and get boring after a while.
GRAPHICS
The game has good graphics, and it is a game with both Mario AND Sonic in it. It's great that the two rivals look good together in one game. The graphics are 3D which is also good, because mainly in the "Mario" and "Sonic" games, the graphics are 2D. It's good that they look good in 3D
SOUND
There are good sound effects, like when you land on a mat, but there isn't much music. Most of the characters say...

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games
Advantages: Great multiplayer fun, lots to do
Disadvantages: Slightly Repetetive
...The Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games has been with us for a while now, and it hasn't been too badly received either amongst the Wii-mote waving, button bashing members of the public out there, so now that the DS version has finally arrived, should these same gamers still be as excited as they were the first time around?
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games on the DS is certainly not short on features, 16 playable characters have all been included, each of which are split into four categories such speed, skill, power and the all rounder's, therefore you can choose which characters you would prefer to use for each event based on their ability. The game also offers plenty of choice when it comes to events, these range from sprinting, swimming and cycling to more specialist events such as fencing and gymnastics...

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (Wii)
Advantages: Great fun, realistic actions
Disadvantages: Will tire you out easily
...At The Olympic Games firstly on the Nintendo Wii, but followed shortly on the handheld DS, and I must admit it's a cracker!
With all the talk about games consoles these days being no good for children, who sit bashing buttons when they should be outside getting exercise, Mario & Sonic comes as a breath of fresh air, as after a few rounds of events and waving the Wii remote around, I certainly was soon out of breath.
There's 24 events to choose from which will work out a certain part of your body and co-ordination, from reaction speeds to accuracy. Most events require you to use both the Wii remote and Nunchuck, but some only need the remote. The most common action which is used on a lot of events, such as the 100m sprint and swimming, is to wave the remote and nunchuck up and down as fast as possible. Believe me, you will get tired after doing this...

I've always been stuck, which to go for Mario or Sonic, so I am so glad they teamed up and made a game together. And the Olympics, what a great place to compete in the world of sports, and Wii.

Its great, this game also makes fantastic use the Wii's Controller, and Nunchuck. In most events only the Remote is required, although you can choose the choose the nunchuck for extra, realism.

Cashing In On The Olympics?
Advantages: Lots Of Events
Disadvantages: No Online, Some Poor Events
...Cashing In On The Olympics?
It can hardly have escaped your attention that the Olympic Games has been held in China and "Team GB" did quite well all things considered. So sales of this game must be up. This time Sega's Sonic The Hedgehog has joined in with Nintendo's Mario this time. The reason for this pairing up is purely commercial.
You can control a myriad of characters from the Mario and Sonic games, or you can play as your Mii character, I always do. Each character has different characteristics and handle events subtly differently. The events are split into the relevant categories of Track, Field, Gymnastics etc... There are nine categories in total.
Some events however are total turkeys such as rowing, where you have to maintain a rowing like motion with the two controls while pressing two...

Mario & Sonic for kids & adults alike
Advantages: loads of different events, suitable for all, good multiplayer functionality
Disadvantages: tiring controls
...This game has great appeal for children - anything with mario and sonic in would - but is also appealing to adults due to its playability.
Basically, various characters (mario, sonic, luigi, peaches, yoshi...) compete in the popular events of the olympic - track and field such as long jump, high jump, 100m, hammer, swimming, trampolining, archery. You control the players and therefore, there is excellent multiplayer functionality. It's a great game to play at parties (I've found the table tennis particularly popular) as well as with the children.
It's a great game and there's loads of different events to choose from and try to master. Therefore, it'll be a while before you even start to get bored with it. However, the controls for some of theevents can be very tiring, due to what you need to do with the Wii remote. Swimming...

On your Marios, Get Sonic, Wii!
Advantages: Makes great use of the wii controller, good for multi- or singleplayer, exercise
Disadvantages: none for me.
...Nintendo's had a great idea with this one: a game which appeals to fans of Mario, Sonic, sports games, and children who want a brightly coloured game thats a lot of fun. I think you'd have to look far to find someone who couldn't find anything to like in this game.
In this game, you get to play a variety of Olympics sports on the wii, either against the computer or with a group of friends, providing you have enough controllers. You can choose between 20 characters, who are all from the Mario games on Nintendo or Sonic's Sega games, for example you can play as Tails, Yoshi, Amy, and even Princess Daisy, who my friends tell me is from the first Mario adventure. Each of them has their own strengths: for example sonic is fast, but dr robotnik (annoying called dr eggman in this game) is really strong. This means that if you're doing a 100m...

I'm An Olympic Gold Medalist !!!!
Advantages: Hours of fun, for the whole family
Disadvantages: You arms can ache.
...This game has brought back many memories for me, I remember in the 1990's playing Sonic on the Sega consoles and Mario on the Nintendo console. So I was amazed when I noticed the both sonic and Mario had been brought together for the first time in this Olympic Games wii game.
OLYMPIC GAMES
This is unlike any other older Mario of Sonic Platform game, it is basically made up of many mini games, which are based around the Olympic Games.
The object of the game is to compete against the computer or other opponents, and gain a winning place in the top three, this will then give your character a bronze, silver or gold medal.
As you gain medals other games will be unlocked, the aim is to gain medals within the top three for every character in every event.
There are no online play options on the game, but the game tracks all...

Mario & Sonic finally together
Advantages: good graphics, makes good use out of the Wii controls in some games,
Disadvantages: controls can be bad in some greats, worldwide online should of been used,
...Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games is the best Olympic game that is out there is pure fun all the way. The game features a whole load of events such as athletics, gymnastics, shooting, rowing, archery, aquatics, fencing, and table tennis also included the dream events. The dream events are nothing really to do with the Olympics and are fun.
You can chose from all your favorite characters from the Mario and Sonic series also add your Mii into the action. I found a problem as my favorite game character Donkey Kong was not added and he is part of Mario. My favorite to play in what the game offers is Sonic, Shadow, Blaze, Wario and Browser. My favorite on the game is the skeet shooting and the aquatics events which have you in the pool. The game wears you out easy but you will want to keep playing because it does get very addictive...
