This time I have decided to review an old classic game known as Sonic the Hedgehog on the Mega Drive. *** In The Beginning *** The Sonic phenomenon started way back in the early '90's when Sega first released the Mega Drive and not long after that the hand-held Game Gear. Sonic the Hedgehog shows us his old moves...and nothing more.

Advantages: Save function on the virtual console, Same great graphics, Same addictive soundtrack
Disadvantages: Still the same game released on over twenty platforms, don't expect any suprises.

...Sonic the Hedgehog for the Wii Virtual console is identical to the Sega Megadrive version, alas bringing the same addictive gameplay and soundtrack of the original to the Wii. Following Sonic through various environments, including rolling green hills, underwater labyrinths and night time woodland, you are attempting to stop the evil Dr Eggman from collecting all the chaos emeralds and taking over the island. This game lacks multiplayer like the original but the game is still as charming as it ever was. A Super Sonic Start to the franchise

Advantages: Gameplay, The Sonic Magic, Level Designs, Fun fun and more fun

...Sonic The Hedgehog (or Sonic 1) released in 1991 on the Sega Mega Drive (or Genesis if you're living in America) set the foundation for one of the most endearing gaming franchises of all time that now 18 years on is still around. ...Sonic 3 came out in the mid 1990's on the back of the huge success of the previous 2 main Sonic games (Sonic The Hedgehog and Sonic 2) and featured the main protagonist from the previous 2 games, Sonic (the titular character) who's an infamous blue hedgehog. He's joined by his two tailed fox friend Miles ?Tails? Prower (Yes Miles Per-Hour...) and the returning antagonist Dr Robotnik (still known by such a name in Europe at the time, his name how ever was Dr Eggman in Japan, and America I think). ..."It's Nintendos way to get lazy kids fit" is how I described this to my rather unenthused friend the night I brought my Wii over so we could have a drink and a play around. "PAH! Get REAL!" was her response. This, if you cannot tell, is the Wii version of the olympics.
