Reclaiming The Stone Of Destiny

Advantages: Gentle comedy
Disadvantages: A bit twee in parts

...The Stone Of Destiny is the film account of the story of the rescue of the Stone Of Destiny. The stone, also known as the Stone of Scone, is symbolic as it was used to crown Scottish monarchs. It was stolen from Scone by Edward the first in 1296 and has been used in the coronation of British monarchs ever since. Many saw its location as a symbol of Scottish oppression and appealed for the stone to be brought home again but powers that be insisted that it stay put. In 1950 Ian Hamilton (Charlie Cox), a law student at Glasgow University and Scottish Nationalist decided to go to London to claim the stone back. Obviously this presented a few problems, firstly the stone was fixed to the Coronation Chair within Westminster Abbey and obviously it is a huge heavy stone so is not easy to transport or hide. Reclaiming Scotland's Destiny

Advantages: Good acting and storytelling
Disadvantages: The making-of could have been better utilised

The dissapointing end of brilliance.

Advantages: is the conclusion to the saga of darren shan
Disadvantages: ending is dissapointing

...Son's of destiny.... first of all it should be said that Darren shan's vampire series, is one of the best series i have read. It was full of orginality, adventure, and action. Son's of destiny is the conclusion to this magnificent series. Personally for me it has to be said, i was disapointed. Don't get me wrong most of the book was a brilliant read. I just feel it should have ended in the middle of this book. The ending left me wondering if there was any point to the series. I can not say what happened for it would ruin it for others but it was a bit strange. Most of the book was quite clever and well written. there were moments of great excitement like there is in all previous 11 books. We follow Darren through some of his toughest challenges, all the characters that have died, all the fights that have been fought...

Advantages: I FANCY great tracks like DANGEROUSLY IN LOVE that give me a HAPPY FACE.

Would You change your Destiny?

Advantages: Great family film
Disadvantages: Not available to buy in this country

...Mr Destiny is a film which my hubby has been telling me about for years and what joy he had when I managed to get a copy on eBay for him. The only downside to the DVD is that it is a Dutch import so the cover is all in foreign words so you cant read any of it. Despite this the film is, to my surprise, very good. THE FILM Larry Burrows (James Belushi) is living a normal life with his wife and his boring job. The only positive thing to his job is his best friend who he has been friends with since school. It is his birthday and he is having a very bad day at work and to top things off his car breaks down again on his way home, where unbeknown to him there is a surprise party waiting for him. Destiny's calling

Advantages: Some fresh tracks with things that women could relate to.
Disadvantages: There aren't more tracks on it!

...and inside booklet - The cover is simple but effective with just Destiny's child posing on the front. The designers have pretty much blacked out the background and just left the girls faces. Inside the booklet are photo's of the girls seperately and then a small poster at the back. All the words are included except for the last bonus track and have the details of the song (writers, producers, etc.) Also included are the girls thank-you's and in small print in the back (same page as the thank-you's) is a bonus feature where if you were to insert the CD in to your computer disk drive and connect to the internet then you can see exclusive videos and more! All in all this is a great album, powerful and meaning and showing how much Destiny's Child have matured and grown over the past four years. There will be songs that...

Childish Destiny...

Advantages: Loadsa tracks. Cool music.
Disadvantages: none, none , none.

...I asked my father what he would like for Christmas and the first thing he said was "The Destiny's Child Album- The Writing's On The Wall" Well, not only was I shocked at him knowing the title of the album, but also his sudden change in musical preferance! He's an old rocker usually listening to the likes of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. You can imagine how completely shocked I was! LOL :) Anyway, onto the review... I bought this album at Notting Hill Market for £10 which was a great start. The album was the recent special edition containing two CD's, the bonus CD including the very latest single, "Independant Woman," which features on the 'Charlies Angel's soundtrack" Now, before wrapping the CD and giving it to Dad, I (obviously) recorded me a copy to see what it was all about. Stone Of Destiny-An okay film!

Advantages: Natural comedy
Disadvantages: Not as thrilling as an adventure film should be.

...Stone of destiny- directed by Charles Martin Smith stars Charlie Kox and Kate Mara in principal roles. I had decided to watch this film since it falls under the "adventure" genre, a genre that is hardly ventured into. I won't say it satisfied my expectations but its not too bad a film either. The story is about a group of young Scottish students lead by Ian Hamilton who venture out to reclaim the stone of destiny from London where it is safely kept in a museum. There is not much to add to the story but you need to watch how the adventure unfolds. I dearly missed the thrills and suspense which you usually associate with such films; the film is somehow very quiet and the focus seems to be on the characters. The director seems to be giving a lot of attention to building up his characters and to adding a lot of layers to them. Its like...

Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny

Advantages: Great graphics, involving gameplay.
Disadvantages: Uses archaic game mechanics, terrible voice acting, short.

...After selling two million copies worldwide, Capcom's oriental action-survival horror game, Onimusha: Warlords, seemed due a sequel. Despite the original game being stuck in developmental limbo for years (switching from N64 to PSone, then finally to PS2 over that time), a sequel came out just a year after the first game's release in 2001. While the original game was among the first to really showcase the PS2's prowess in several areas, the gameplay was firmly stuck in the PSone era so there was a lot to improve and refine for Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny. One of the decidedly next-gen parts of the original game was the astounding graphics, and that's no different here.
