My Sony TRV110
Advantages: not too heavy, good first-user DV camera.
Disadvantages: LCD Screen usage can eat battery if used unecessarily
...My main reason for buying the Sony DCR-TRV110 was the price drop as new DCR products came on the market. This price drop allowed me to access digital video and the wonders that come with it.
As a teacher of information technology one thing had eluded me and that was using computers for video capture, and in particular digital video capture.
The use of the Sony DCR-TRV110 can range from simple record and playback to attaching it to a computer video capture card such as Pinnacle Studio DV and perfoming amazing feats of video editing.
Even without attaching the Sony DCR-TRV110 to a computer it boasts some pretty amazing features such as Titling, different type of shoot mode including 'old film' and Sepia toning. There is a great range of transitional effects for blending shots.
One of the other good features is the Sony...

Sonys great cybershot camera
Advantages: Easy to use, Good amount of mega pixels for personal use, Diverse features
Disadvantages: Low end sony cybershot camera, Built in memory is very poor, Battery life does not last very long
...I needed to get a new camera after my older nikon coolpix camera broke and then I lost it. I wanted a new camera however I was on a budget so I started to look for a new camera. The sony range of camera caught my attention since they are a well known and the people who own sony cybershot cameras rate them highly. I paid £70 including postage for my the sony cybershot camera which I think is very good value for what you get.
The first thing you notice with the camera is how good it looks, it's all silver and shiny, the Lcd monitor is 2.5 which is a very good size and it is very clear. The build of the camera is very sturdy, it feels well built and you can defiantly tell that they have used good materials, not just got some cheap plastic together. It feels very light and the only weight that you can feel comes from the battery...

Ixus 110 - a great point and shoot camera but nothing more.
Advantages: Range of features, quality of pictures in night time mode.
Disadvantages: Quality of pictures in cloudy weather and low light,
... The looks
*This camera looks great. The curvy design makes it something you won't be embarrassed to carry around with you all the time, and it's the perfect size to keep in your admittedly relatively large pocket, but I'm sure it would fit just fine in most handbags.
The layout
*The Ixus 110 has a relatively minimalist layout which I like very much, but whether such a layout will suit you will definitely be down to personal taste. On the front you've got the flash, lense and autofocus LED, so nothing new there. On the top of the camera there's the shutter relase, shooting mode slider where you select the gallery, photo or video mode, and the on off button. The back of the camera on the other hand sports a much less traditional design, containing the high quality LCD screen and the scroll wheel. Whilst this set up...

Canon Powershot SX110 IS
Advantages: Lots of features
Disadvantages: Quite expensive
...Design
The Canon Powershot SX110 IS is a pretty big camera compared to some on the market. It is around 11cm by 7cm and feels quite large in your hands, although this does make it feel sturdy and strongly built. Despite the size, it fits into your hands rather smoothly and is fairly comfortable to hold. It weighs in at around 300g which is quite heavy but once again makes it feel strong. It is too large to keep it comfortably in your pocket and so the wrist strap comes in handy. (A neck strap would be a nice addition though). I was told you can also purchase a pouch for it to clip on to your belt. You can get to the buttons, pop up flash light and battery space easily and they are all well made and strong. The battery space holds two AA battery's and they are easy to change compared to some cameras which are fiddly or the battery...

Enter the Sony!
Advantages: Packed with extras, looks good and feels good.
Disadvantages: See review for the very minor con`s.
...Sony are one of the newest companies to venture into the world of DSLR`s, having been producing some quite excellent point and shoot cameras for many years this is a move that most people in the photography world had expected to happen a long time ago and a lot had feared the day it did happen too.
The reason many photographers feared Sony entering the DSLR market is simply that it would be hard not to get drawn into what they had to offer but they feared that Sony might find the market too challenging and bale out leaving many photographers with cameras that they could not upgrade and would struggle to find lenses and accessories for.
When buying a point and shoot camera you are spending in the region of between 100 and 200 pounds for a top of the range model, whilst when purchasing a DSLR camera you could be looking at spending...

A Great System from Sony
Advantages: Nice Classy Design, Great Graphics, and a Good Online
Disadvantages: Small Gamelist Thus Far and Some Games Suffer From Framerate and Graphical Pop-Up Issues
...Sony's Playstation 3 is thier third go around in the Video Game business. My console reviews usually consist of reviews in the following categories Controller, Graphics, Multiplayer/Online, and Game Library. Much like the Xbox 360, i'll also be reviewing the Design of the PS3.
The design of the PS3 is the more classy of the three new consoles. The PS3 is a black square system with a curved top. While the design is beautiful, this system is very big, matching the 360 in terms of size. The system also offers Blu-ray but, in my opinion, that should not be the only reason you should be spending $400-500 on this system.
The PS3's controller is the classic Playstation controller once again and that shouldn't be a problem for any gamer. The original PS3 controller was the Sixaxis but is now Dualshock 3. For a company that created...

Sony is back with a bang!
Advantages: slick piece of hardware, great games, so much to do!
Disadvantages: not cheap!
...Having just recently won a competition to spend a night with the PS3 I figured it would be a smart idea to do a personal review of the console which everyone will be talking about (in the UK) in a few weeks to come. Please bear in mind that I have only had a chance to test this baby out for a few hours and so my review will not be as in-depth as you might expect.
First Impressions
The PS3 is indeed a slick looking machine, about the size of it's older brother (PS2) it seems as though finally Sony have caught on to the fact that the outer design of the console is as important to a gamer as the leather interior is to a 2006 Aston Martin V8 Vantage.
Gone is that ugly block-like design and in comes a smooth surfaced console with curved edges just begging you to caress them. Much like it's predecessor, the PS3 can be placed...

Sony Playstation 3 (PS3)
Advantages: Best Entertainment System Avaliable, Region free games only
Disadvantages: 4GB file limitation External Storage, Cant read NTFS
...I am going to be reviewing possibly one of the biggest console in the market currently the PS3. Firstly I have one and it is great, now let's take a look at it in detail:
LAUNCH
November 11, 2006: This is when it debut in Japan
November 17, 2006: It released in North America
March 23, 2007: Finally was released in Europe, Australia, the Middle East, Africa and New Zealand.
The UK launch was a shock for who went to it, as it was announced that everyone in the queue would receive a 46" Sony Bravia TV worth £2000.
The launches did not turn out great for Sony as initial figures were low, here are the figures below:
Worldwide: 5.59 Million - Japan 1,341,000 - North America 2,105,500 - Other 1,300,000
The launch was initially supposed to be as follows:
November 11th for Japan and November 17th for North America...

Great quality headphones - great price too
Advantages: Quality, loudness, price, comfortable, durable
Disadvantages: none for me (for others maybe the lack of volume control)
...When you think of good headphones you think of either those gigantic buns which look bigger than the head or those of minute dimensions that seem to disappear in the ear in the most complicated twists of modern design. In both cases the spelling is E - X - P - E - N - S - I - V - E.
What I want to introduce to the general public (aka people that are not professional users of headphones but doesn't mean they have to buy and use rubbish ones) are the Sony MDR-110LP. The most underrated and unknown headphones of Sony, possibly also the cheapest.
I have owned a pair for what seem to be decades and now that my fianceé took them away for herself (and for good reason too) I find myself LOST and surrounded but sub-standard cheap substitutes and with no intention of spending money for a new pair (what a cheap one I am lol).
The MDR-110...

Another great console from Sony
Advantages: Really good graphics, Blue Ray player built in, wireless internet for free
Disadvantages: High price, loud fan when playing games
...Sony's next generation console was well worth the wait from the Playstation 2. I have owned a PS3 for just over a year now and I have so far had no problems with it and to see the quality of the graphics of any game was incredible, and it was such a step up from the PS2. Although Sony was late in releasing the PS3, it was worth the wait in the end, although I did consider getting an Xbox 360 instead. The Xbox 360 came out much earlier and allowed microsoft the oppurtunity to get more Xbox 360's out there before the PS3 was even out. However there have been many reported problems with the Xbox 360, such as the console freezing, so I thought I best play it safe and instead get the PS3 when I had some money.
The PS3 also offers more benefits over the Xbox 360, like free online play and less reported faults with the console in general...
