Sony BDP-300
Review of Sony BDP-S 300 by
Ronnie_2008
Advantages: SIMPLE TO SET UP,
Disadvantages: NO EHERNET, NOT AS SOLID AS OTHER MACHINES
...Considering how much effort sony invested in the blu-ray format, it was a weirdly long time getting players on o the market - players that weren't globe straddling games consoles, anyhow. And having finally got its finger out, the resulting BDP-300 is not quite the format-war-winning lap of honour you might expect. Though sturdily and attractivly built, up to sony's usual standards, loads discs relatively quickly and is simple to use, its not without compromises.
It decodes hi-def audio on board, but cant send it via HDMI. It's missing BD 1.1 ability and has no ethernet port for future firmware upgrades. And picture quality, where you might expect it to claw back some credibility, raises a few more doubts. Any blu-ray disc feauring fast, unpredictable motion can flummox the BDP-300 - it doesnt judder , but theres less solidity than...

still not the finished Blu-ray Player
Review of Sony BDP-S500 by
wm_babyboy
Advantages: Hi Sound Quality
Disadvantages: No DTS-HD Master Audio through HDMI. No Ethernet.
...I Had recently Visited Sony's show case just to see this product. I learned allot.
Let me tell what i got for you all.
the Design is look really silly, Its such a bulky equipment, it doesn't look like a Disk player it look like an amplifier, or security monitoring device.
I would rather recommend you all a PS 3, because it has almost all the feature and also you could play games.
But Sony BDP-S500 definitely has some advantages like the sound quality is much advanced.
The greatest disadvantage is that the Blu Ray disk a quite costly.
And they are not available at every store.
But this device has a great sound processor, DTS HD with Dolby True HD format and Low rate loss Audio is produced, to give you the exact sound effect as if your at the studio and the shooting is just in front of you. The real effect of sound is produced...

The Future is Blu...
Review of Samsung BD-P1400 by
buyer991
Advantages: Cheap (for Blu-Ray), better than the Sony ones, works well, upgradable
Disadvantages: No DVD+R / +RW playback, no SVCD or VCD playback
...Overview
--------------
One of the new crop of Blu-Ray disc players coming out post announcement that Toshiba is giving up on HD-DVD.
Blu-Ray will now enjoy growth in players and discs as the studios just have to back one type now and the shops only have to stock one type now. With discs costing between £18 and £30 it was too much to ask for them to stock the same movies on both types and then there was the problem of some movies only available on one type or the other (because of political allegiances to either Sony or Toshiba).
Pity the poor people who bought HD-DVD though...
Upgradability & HD Compatibility
---------------------------------------------
This player finally made me buy into HD for a couple of reasons. Firstly, it has an upgradable firmware (like the PS3) and secondly it allows 1080i HD output from it's component...

Beginners Guide to Editing
Review of Better Digital Photography by
gwarwick
Advantages: Easy to follow tutorials, free CD
Disadvantages: Only for beginner photographers, advertisements
...Better Digital Photography (BDP) is a magazine published by IPC Country & Leisure Media. It is a monthly magazine which comes out around the 2nd of every month.
Better Digital Photography is a new magazine which has hit the ever growing market of digital photography publications. The first issue was in September 2003 and is primarily aimed at new digital camera users wanting easy-to-follow guides to photo editing.
In order to complete this review I am going to use December 2003 (issue 4) as an example.
~Prices~
As at December 2003 the magazine costs £4.40 and is available from most good newsagents. ( I got it from WHSmiths)
It is possible to subscribe to the magazine. One years subscription (12 issues) will cost £36.95 for residents of the United Kingdom, $76.30 for USA residents and €65.80 for all other European Countries...

the blu ray seduction masterplan
Review of Samsung BD-P 1000 by
1st2thebar
Advantages: it's blu-ray technology
Disadvantages: slightly overly sensitive
...I must confess I have been one of the most fortunate few who has had the blu ray experience. It happened one crazy evening at a friends house.... a few beers and a couple of slices of 4 seasons pizza, lights dimmed and there she was all dressed to kill..... the Samsung BD-P 1000. I guess like many I had heard of blu ray but had never experienced it. It was all unexpected the effects the slick, stylish ,shiny, manageable, sexy, piece of technology was astonishing, maybe I was in the mood for a lift, something exciting. I had to have this DVD blu ray technology at my beck and call in my living room. At my own pace.
Price.. Well I must say it did seem a good offer, for such a piece of stylish technology. Will it catch on.........mmmmmmm.....yes I do think it will. I no doubt many will have been seduced and would want a bit for themselves...

Blu-Ray Player - The Future
Review of Panasonic DMP-BD30 by
mikeywhitto
Advantages: High Quality, Great Design
Disadvantages: Expensive
...The DMP-BD30 is half the price of its predecessor (the original Blu-ray player - BDP-10A was £700). This makes the upscaling to Blu-ray far more appealing and many people will buy this product and invest in Blu-rays. Nevertheless, the question still remains, why don't people buy PS3s which can play Blu-rays as well as HD games and a lot more? Well, the PS3 cannot upscale non-Blu-ray DVDs as well as the DMP-BD30 and the audio functionality is very complicated on the PS3. Overall however, the PS3 is very capable of playing Blu-ray.
Appearance
The DMP-BD30 is very sleek, smooth and stylish piece of equipment. The black colour works well with most living rooms. The remote control also looks stunning with many
buttons - most of which you will probably never use.
Price
As I have already mentioned, this Blu-ray player...

Superior Picture Quality
Review of Samsung LE32M86BD by
m_howey
Advantages: Picture Quality
Disadvantages: Sound
...Wow!! What a great TV. I have purchased this about 2 weeks ago and I can honestly say I am extremely happy with it.
I previously had a lesser model Samsung 32" tv, which unfortunately was stolen, but I had the last laugh as this upgraded version is so much better. The picture quality is unbelievable on all settings, analogue, digital and hi-def all look life like. It has taken a bit of time for my girlfreind to get used to the picture quality as she say it is "too real" but she has now come round and is happy with it.
I purchased a Samsung Blu-Ray player, the BD-P1400, at the same time and this is amazing too. The fact they are both Samsung means they communicate really well and infact have a built in feature called Anynet+, which mean one button can switch on tv, blu-ray player and start the blu-ray disk playing.
The sound...

One very amazing disc player!
Review of Pioneer BDP-LX70 by
03bintls
Advantages: Full HD playback, amazing film experience!
Disadvantages: Price
...Ok first things first, this is one very expensive disc player! But don't let that put you off......
Despite the fact that there still isn't any form of winner between the two HD formats (HD-DVD and Blu-Ray) I decided I still wanted in on the hi-def game and decided to take the Blu-Ray route. I believe the selection of films is better, they are easier to buy in more shops etc, and deep down I hope the format will win! I guess everyone will just have to wait and see what happens though.
I had read good reviews about this player in many magazines etc, so knew it would be a good purchase. The model I bought is actually the BDP-LX70A. This 'A' version has had a few tweaks apparantly and also now supports the whole HD audio business etc. This gives you better quality surround sound and a much more thrilling movie experience. Taking...

Good product
Review of Sony VAIO FE41E - Core 2 Duo T5500 1.66 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
skinney05
Advantages: good and fast
Disadvantages: cost
...very fast and up to date bit of kit. This gives everything that you expect from a sony, unfortunetley this includes the price as with most of there other products, sony expects you to not only to pay for the product but also for the brand name. whereas other alternatives of the exact same spec tend to be less in price. having said that it is a very good laptop that if you do like myself trust the sony brand you mind paying a little extra for your peace of mind. If however you prefer value for money or do not have a budget to get you a sony then other more affordable examples exist.
Every aspect is either good or excellent on this product another good example of sony equipment....

its not that good
Review of Nokia 3310 by
dlav99
Advantages: Everyone thinks its cool.
Disadvantages: Its not as cool as everyone thinks.
...I bought this prduct beacause of all the hype that surrounds Nokia phones. However since purchasing my Nokia 3310, new phones such as the Seimans C35i and Sony J5 have appeared on the market and im my oppinion the are both alot better than the 3310. The Sony J5 is awesome, with great sounds, games and much more capability than my Nokia 3310. Ths Sony J5 is smaller lighter and battery life is alot better then that of the 3310. On the practical side the 3310 is ok, but the tones and games arnt really as good as those on the Sony J5. Also the sounds on the Nokia 3310 are just beeps the SOny J5 uses real sound and has a better speaker. Im not happy with my 3310 i wish i had a Sony J5....
