Sony e reader
Advantages: lightweight
Disadvantages: not cheap
...**** Sony E Reader ****
I really enjoy reading but somehow my suitcase always ends up really heavy so when i saw that my local Waterstones had some in stock i decided to purchase one.At 199 quid its not cheap but i felt i could easily spend that on buying the books alone.
**What is it?**
Basically it is an electronic device that you can store books on.The memory size you get with it holds up to 160 books but there is also slots for you to add extra memory if needed, not that you would need it.
**Pros**
One of the best things about this is that you do not have to carry loads of books around with you.
Books are cheaper on the ereader than they are to buy normally and when you buy the ereader from Waterstones it comes with 100 classic books so if you are like me and would read these anyway the ereader pays for itself.
It can...

The Day The Sony E reader Changed My Life
Advantages: It is very useful and very simple to use and it looks and feels fantastic
Disadvantages: The screen isn't backlit, and the zoom only has three sizes
...I love the Sony E reader because since I found this gadget it has made life sitting on a bay for hours on end whle Im in my Lorry a pleasure and no longer a chore.
I love the idea of the e reader by Sony, hundreds of books all in one place and all available with the push of a button. I have books all over the cab and they always get filthy and dog eared. I always lose my page when I have to put them down because the red light on the bay changes to green and they want their bay back.
Another thing with a paper book is that if you take it into a waiting room , every one can see what your reading ( well the ones who can read anyway) and I'm a little shy about sharing my reading habits especially when I'm picking up the free books in the waiting room at Blacks In Northampton, ( at least I hope theyr'e free).
The e reader looks and feels...

Tiny Reader...Vast Capability
Advantages: Takes 18 different cards
Disadvantages: Possible problem recognising reader when online
...Delkin eFilm External card reader
When my old card reader died on me, I rushed straight out to find a new card reader as I had about 200 plus photos waiting to be uploaded and printed and all on my camera card. To be honest, I wasn?t looking at high spec or anything else the reader had to offer ? all I wanted was an external reader to enable me to upload photo images and so I went for one of the cheapest in the local computer shop (which is actually a privately owned one and so is more expensive but being a wimp I didn?t want to drive far in the storm!). This particular card cost me about £10 though after searching online it can now be picked up for as little as £7 which ok, isn?t a huge saving but these days every little helps. It also seems that a lot of sites which have this card reader are American sites (all in dollars) such as...

Trust my Card Reader
Advantages: reliable, USB2, vista compat, 42 different formats, lively lighty up bits
Disadvantages: bit boring to look at
...I bought this card reader at that famous hit-tech computer store ;) Tesco. So I didn't expect that much especially at the price but it was going to be better than my ultra cheap no name card reader it replaced.
I've been using this card reader now for about 9 months. It cost £9.00 when I bought it so I didn't expect too much. But it surpassed my expectations and has beaten off my attempts to replace it with newer more modern units (usually ones advertising it will read 99 different card types and ones which are much much prettier).
The Trust EasyConnect Card Reader is a USB 2 device which does its job without fuss or fault. It accepts cards via the front panel or the back panel and handles (amongst othersCompact Flash, Mini Drive, SMC, XD (for Fuji and Olympus), MS, MMC, and SD cards. Basically, if you have a memory card for your...

Is the Sony card really worth it?
Advantages: Good opening offer
Disadvantages: Need to spend a lot to earn points/ Send you credit card cheques
...The Sony Card is an American Express credit card from MBNA. It is basically a reward card earning you one Sony Pulse Beat for every pound you spend (triple points if you buy Sony products).
The trick is to find a link where you are guaranteed points as soon as you sign up. If you go through Sony site you will only receive 4000 points but I got it through a link on moneysavingexpert (see earlier review) with 8200 points but this now seems to have been withdrawn.
The basics are as follows but should be checked on the website
0% pa on balance transfers for 12 months (3% handling fee)
0% pa on card purchases for 3 months
15.9% APR (typical rate)
No annual fee
You can access your account on line and there are competitions and you can sign up to an enewsletter to receive exclusive offers and the latest product info.

USB Card Reader With Free 1GB SD Card
Advantages: 9 in 1 card reader, 1GB SD card, Compact design
Disadvantages: None
...The Kingston MobileLite 9-in-1 Card Reader is the only device you need to store, transfer and read data on any USB enabled device. As I use a variety of flash cards for mobile phone, digital camera and camcorder.
This card reader is designed with a USB 2.0 connector which is ideal to connect via you PC or laptop. It has memory expansion slots that support nine different types of SD and MMC flash memory cards. It also comes with a 1 GB SD memory card for free, what more would you want.
This device is called mobile for a reason, as its small and compact it's ideal to take with you anywhere. You won't find a smaller more compact card reader on the market which carries a respectable name as Kingston. I have another card reader which I use for my PC, I bought this because it was cheap and had free 1GB SD memory card with it. I use this...

Get a sexy card and free Sony stuff too
Advantages: Free Pulse Beats, exclusive monthly competitions to win amazing prizes, efficient and friendly customer service
Disadvantages: APR could be more competitive
...The best thing with SonyCard is that you can save up PulseBeats (loyalty points) and get some free Sony stuff! Whether you want to save for a free CD or a DVD player, this is the credit card for you! You receive one PulseBeat per pound spent, so the more money you spend, the quicker you can get free Sony stuff. Also whenever you buy a Sony product you get triple PulseBeats. This is great if you buy a lot of TriStar Columbia DVDs, Playstation games, or Sony Music CDs, or even a widescreen Sony TV as you will receive a lot of PulseBeats quickly.
There are also exclusive monthly "Dream Draws", where you have the chance to win 'money-can't-buy' holidays and Sony stuff like that cool robot dog AIBO. In the past they've offered trips to the Oscars ceremony and a VIP trip to the Monaco Grand Prix.
They gave me 1300 free PulseBeats when my...

Jessops USB Smartmedia Card reader - Serial Killer
Advantages: Upload Speed, Increased Battery Life
Disadvantages: None
...I've been putting up with slow upload on my Olympus C2020Z digital camera for over a year, but when I got a 32Mb card it was painfully slow - like watching paint dry. So I finally bought a Jessops USB Smartmedia Card Reader and it's great.
The installation on a Windows 98 PC is simple, the card comes with a CD with the appropriate drivers, and has bundled Piccolo thumbnail software for viewing and sending files to Jessops over the internet for printing, though I've not tried that service yet.
The USB Card reader is powered via the USB port, and comes with an extension cable which makes it easy to connect to a desktop PC. Once installed and with a Smartmedia card inserted, it appears as a new removable drive. Piccolo will automatically catalogue all your pictures on your PC, and a thumbnail viewer will launch. I close them down...

Jenoptik Smart Card Reader very good
Advantages: Fast, effecient and easy to use
Disadvantages: none
...Having owned a digital camera for 6 months I got heartily sick and tired of waiting for images to download through the serial port of my computer. I therefore decided to invest in a smart card reader from Jenoptik. I bought one direct from the web and paid £27 for a USB reader. It was one of the best investments I have made. Being USB it requires no power source and sits nicely on top of my monitor. The downloads speeds are almost instantaneous and the management of the card is as simple as a floppy. I highly recommend you purchase one if you intend to take digital photography even a little bit seriously....

Marymoose reads "The Reader"
Advantages: A different take on the Holocaust, thoroughly thought-provoking!
Disadvantages: Could have been longer...
...............................................................................................................
Intro Whilst perusing the charity book list at work (books for 25p) I came across ?The Reader?, and being vaguely aware that it had recently been made into a film and that it had issues surrounding the Holocaust in it I was quick to part with my 25p before someone else got it!
I haven?t been reading much this year, choosing instead to stare out of the train window at sheep. However, from the moment I picked up this book I was hooked and it was over before I knew it (well, a day and a bit later technically).
This is a difficult book to review since I don?t want to give away too much of the plot, I have read reviews which give away something quite major which we don?t find out until well into the story (although I...
