Sony TCM-200DV Dictaphone

...I always wanted a dictaphone as a child. Largely, I admit, for slightly dubious reasons (i.e. I wanted to plant it in my big sister's bedroom and find out if she was talking about me.) Many years on, as a student, I finally received one as a birthday gift so that I could record important lectures. This certainly did come in handy during those classes that, however hard I tried to stay alert, had me head down and drooling on the desk within minutes. The Sony TCM-200DV Cassette-Corder (or 'dictaphone' to you and me) is a fairly basic model compared to some products on the market - but it does what it says on the tin and it does it to a perfectly acceptable standard. The machine is silver (with a charcoal grey back panel and battery compartment) and weighs in at 171g - it's roughly the same size as a cassette-playing personal stereo...

Walking with Sony

...The Sony WM-EX 605 is purely a personal cassette player. I bought one last week for my six year old daughter, as she likes to listen to books on tape. The unit features are: Feather touch controls, auto reverse, remote control, and up to 35 hour battery life. Feather touch controls basically just a gentle touch of the button will activate that function. Auto reverse well this turns the tape over without removing the tape from the unit but this is an intelligent auto reverse it can be programmed to play both sides of the tape once or continuous play (where the tape will continue to play until the player is stopped). Remote control this is fitted on the headphone cable and controls the volume, oh it also controls all the other functions as well Play, Fast Forward, Rewind, Stop and Auto reverse! Battery life well it?s supposed to last...

Advantages: Variable recording time, mains compatible
Disadvantages: No tape counter

...and briefcase. The unit takes two AA type batteries. The big plus for me, however, is that it can be mains powered. A word of caution though, the jack to fit this isn't the standard one, but one of Sony's own. It's a lot smaller than you would expect but you can buy adapters with multiple fittings, which is what I did. Overall, a good product. If it's just personal dictation you need, I'd look elsewhere for a micro-cassette machine. Those wishing to combine recording with some audio book listening (in a quiet room!) may need look no further....

A Great System from Sony

Advantages: Nice Classy Design, Great Graphics, and a Good Online

The Very DAB

Advantages: Inexpensive, decent output for a bedroom or smaller room, mp3 capability
Disadvantages: No good for a larger room due to the 5 watt output per speaker

I discovered that I was going to struggle to find a decent boombox style DAB with CD player, and quickly realised that given the price and output level of some of the smaller DAB radios with CD players that I would actually get more bang for my buck if I bought a micro system. Advantages: Great Design

...This is a great controller jus like the classic ps1/ps2 the design stayed the same. This is the perfect controller i can not say anything about the slick design. As you may know this controller is wireless so you may use it from newere in the room so no messy wires hanging around. And the batttery lasts very long i dont have to charge it very often but i dont play hours every day either. Only bad this about this controller is that unlike the ps1/ps2 controllers this does not have dual shock so no rumble :(.This is because sony could not get rights for the technology. Sony what happened? Well good news this controller is being released again next year as Dual Shock 3 is comming out. Another great console from Sony

Advantages: Really good graphics, Blue Ray player built in, wireless internet for free
Disadvantages: High price, loud fan when playing games

...Sony's next generation console was well worth the wait from the Playstation 2. I have owned a PS3 for just over a year now and I have so far had no problems with it and to see the quality of the graphics of any game was incredible, and it was such a step up from the PS2. Although Sony was late in releasing the PS3, it was worth the wait in the end, although I did consider getting an Xbox 360 instead. The Xbox 360 came out much earlier and allowed microsoft the oppurtunity to get more Xbox 360's out there before the PS3 was even out. However there have been many reported problems with the Xbox 360, such as the console freezing, so I thought I best play it safe and instead get the PS3 when I had some money. The PS3 also offers more benefits over the Xbox 360, like free online play and less reported faults with the console in general...

...Let me start by saying, that despite the hefty rrp, despite the fact that its 3rd in the console race behind the nintendo wii and xbox 360 respectfully, the playstation 3 is in my honest opinion, the best out of the three without a doubt. Sony's new games console the Playstation 3 or more commonly known as the PS3 was finally released across the European Union and Australia as well as the other PAL region 2 compatible countries on Friday 23rd March. With up to 300,000 units available at launch it was unlikely that the PS3, which had already been available in Japan and US from November last year, was going to be an overnight sell out. Even now as I write this review they are still available in the stores. Disappointed ebay sellers, who had hoped to make a bit of profit from pre-order sales riding on the launches of Microsoft's Xbox 360, Nintendo's Wii and Sony's PSP, are well and truly kicking themselves now...
