...Good All-round head unit, Quick Install and Good Sound Quality My Lust for all things Sony continued when I had to replace my old Sony CDX-MP40 head unit. The old unit was exceptional and had lasted me 4-5 years so my expectations were high and so far I haven't beed dissappointed but I guess only another 5 years will show whether sonys have improved. But what I can say is as follows: Sound Quality - very good, stereo output is very crisp and the choice of equaliser options is better. Bass sounds better too and doesn't distort even at louder volumes. I found the chemical brothers best hits were a good test for this. Features are excellent and include MP3, CD, Radio, USB and Aux input for your ipod, flash drive or a good tip is to get one of those mini usb hard drives which you can copy hundreds of tracks onto. ...When i first bought my 100 Disc changer it was one of those fads, one of those things that i thought , "well, even if i dont use it that often it still looks pretty" . Now a few years on the player has had hours upon hours of trouble free usage. The player is based on Sony electronics and is as good as it gets for CD Changers, yes there are others, nowadays you can get 200,300 and even 400 disc changers, but this is the one that caught my eye the most.. ...I have the Sony head unit installed into my Peugeot 106 and have hooked up a set of pioneer fronts components and an external amplifier and it copes very well indeed. The basic spec is 4 x 50 watts output with 32 presets and the usual face off facility, also 1 pre-out for either a sub or amplifier and an auxiliary jack. ...The once flagship model of the Sony (Xplod) head-unit range would appear to have a lot on offer in terms of looks and functionality; Sat Nav, CD Changer compatible, Colour screen and a Simple design amongst other things. The exact specifications are still available on the Sony.co.uk website. Most of the various functions on the unit are controlled through a series of menu's. In all honesty they are very easy to navigate but take a bit of getting used to. The included remote control makes life a lot easier, especially as there aren't the usual 1-6 stations buttons on the front; however you can set one of the rotating wheels on the front to cycle through them. ...Stylish and sleek MP3 CD Radio Head unit. Looks great in your car and sound quality is excellent. I have owned this Head unit for 4 years and it has lasted me really well. First of all the Radio has plenty of presets that can be used to store all your favourite stations quickly and easily. It benefits from FM, MWand LW radio which I use for listening to the cricket. The CD player is excellent too, no problems, doesn't skip and you can play CD-R, CD-RW and your MP3 Discs which is great for all your downloaded music. It comes with a remote which I have always found a bit strange for a car stereo... consequently I have never used it but I'm sure it is very useful if you need that kind of thing for a drive by party or something. Only downside is that the volume down button has become difficult to press and the unit sometimes...

It has 45 x 4 watts rms, and the sound quality is pristine! You have the ability to change the colour of lights surrounding the volume dial depending on your mood. It has a variety of 'Eq Dancers' which you can change manually or set onto Demo for a continuous randomization Although it lacks Mp3 play back, it allows you to play Wma Cd's which some head units do not support. ...This is a great little head unit. The distinctive display looks brilliant and can be customised to show your own photographs or images. All you need to do is put in a cd with the images on and it will take them and store them and use the as screensavers or display pictures. It will even show cd videos although the screen is pretty small for them. The radio has all the usual functions made more attractive by the lcd type screen. This makes the display attractive and clear. It has RDS and auto-tuning but really needs the remote control to handle it properly. You can use the handful of controls on the unit but its much more difficult. Perhaps the biggest problem with this unit is that the face isn't removable. You have to leave the whole unit in the car.
