CDX-GT 200 review + installation
Advantages: Excellent sound quality + output power, Pre Sub Out, Price
Disadvantages: Irritating detachable face, poor display, poor installation instructions + manual
...read but it plays well and has never skipped from a bump or read error. The tuner has excellent reception, without a booster aerial. The auxilary input, which is my mp3 player is good as long as you have the EQ on the mp3 player off, and about 90% volume, too low will create more noise and too high will create distortion. I have the non MP3 version which cant play MP3s, so an mp3 player connected via a jack works just fine. The 3 band EQ on the unit is good as you can edit it from +10 to -10db. All the setting hold and can be stored. The only flaws I have with the unit are a fairly basic display, which is typical of a budget sony, but still a spectrum analyser would be nice. The detachable face is also a problem, easy to remove but a hassle to get back on, the golden connector is hard to line up with the spring loaded connector and takes...

Sony CDX-GT620U CD Radio MP3 USB Aux Car Stereo
Advantages: Great Design, Easy to use, good sound quality
Disadvantages: usb socket flap looks a bit flimbsy
...Good All-round head unit, Quick Install and Good Sound Quality
My Lust for all things Sony continued when I had to replace my old Sony CDX-MP40 head unit. The old unit was exceptional and had lasted me 4-5 years so my expectations were high and so far I haven't beed dissappointed but I guess only another 5 years will show whether sonys have improved.
But what I can say is as follows:
Sound Quality - very good, stereo output is very crisp and the choice of equaliser options is better. Bass sounds better too and doesn't distort even at louder volumes. I found the chemical brothers best hits were a good test for this.
Features are excellent and include MP3, CD, Radio, USB and Aux input for your ipod, flash drive or a good tip is to get one of those mini usb hard drives which you can copy hundreds of tracks onto.
One other...

Sony CDX GT 420 U - Very Good All Round Head Unit
Advantages: Stylish, Plenty of Features and Good Sound Quality
Disadvantages: none so far
...Excellent All-round Head Unit
I bought this Sony head unit for my partner exactly 1 year ago as a christmas present and I can only say that I made an excellent choice.
I bought this model because I had already bought a sony for myself a few years earlier and it had lasted me a long time with no major problems.
This model looks great in her Fiat dash board and I'm sure the stylish silver finish would look good in most other modern cars.
The Sound quality is excellent, even at loud volumes where the top notes and the bass remains clear. You also have a selection of equaliser options to choose from.
The choice of functions is good to and if you can use either the radio - FM/MW and LW or CD. There is also a usb input which can be used to play music directly from a usb stick. Alternatively you hav an aux input at the front...

Sony cdx 200 head unit
Advantages: Cheap, Easy to use and does what is says on the tin
Disadvantages: Can look too understated
...I have the Sony head unit installed into my Peugeot 106 and have hooked up a set of pioneer fronts components and an external amplifier and it copes very well indeed. The basic spec is 4 x 50 watts output with 32 presets and the usual face off facility, also 1 pre-out for either a sub or amplifier and an auxiliary jack.
Sound Quality
The head unit comes with 7 pre set equalisers and these are great when you just want to turn on your radio be it on the way back from work or a simple trip to the shops. When excessive bass or squealing high notes are not needed. The head unit is great at playing simple music from the radio. The unit is also very good when you enter the custom equaliser mode and set it up how ever you like either with a thumping bass or a very clear crisp mid/treble. These three aspects can be adjusted form -10 db to...

A good CD player
Advantages: Plays a wide range of discs - including CD R & RW - & filetypes
Disadvantages: Poor radio function, poor installation guide
...When I was looking for a new cd player to put in my first car, I was looking for something relatively cheap, but that played mp3 cds and sounded good. Looking good was also pretty important, and in fact one of the things that made me choose the GT200 was its quite understated appearance. However, most important to me was to get a good brand for a good price, and with Sony you can't really go wrong.
On opening the box, the first thing that is quickly apparent is that the instructions are hopeless. If this is your first time installing a stereo then, frankly, its a good thing the whole process is pretty easy. For starters, if you're replacing the stock stereo you will probably need the appropriate tools to remove that.
Having removed the stock stereo, you next need to fit the outer frame into the big gaping hole in your dashboard...

Sony Alpha A200 (Digital SLR)
Advantages: Price, brand, quality
Disadvantages: Manual modes
...camera is compatible with the old Minolta lenses - which are cheaper and often better that the Sony ones (for more advanced photos). The manual settings are easy to use, however are a little rigid, and I find do not give you the same flexibility as some of the more expensive digital SLRs or manual ones (Cannon ones are very good for this), however for the price of the Sony, the settings are reasonable.
Down to the most important point - image quality. I cannot really find fault with this at all, and this is comparable to some of the much more expensive Canon and Pentax SLRs! The lens provided with this camera is not the best for very close up and macro photography, however it tends to perform very well for any other shots - and there is always the option to change to a better lens for these purposes.
Overall - excellent camera...

Sony a200 - one of the best budget dslr cameras available.
Advantages: Great battery life, comfortable in the hands, picture quality.
Disadvantages: Flimsy memory card and remote release slot.
...I was looking for a new camera and had a budget of around £300.
Compact cameras such as the Panasonic Lumix TZ and the Nikon Coolpix P80 kept coming up, as did the Nikon D40 and the Sony a200. I decided to go for the Sony in the end as it was a name I trusted and I had used a compact Sony in the past.
The quality difference between my old compact camera and this camera was incredible. Shots always seem to come out crisp and clear, whatever lighting conditions the picture was taken in. Battery life is great and the percentage meter of battery power remaining is invaluable.
The camera fits well in large hands, and all of the buttons and dials on the camera are comfortably positioned. Having only used a compact camera in the past, the sheer number of options took a while to get used to, but once I was familiar with the camera everything...

Never mind the iPod and bluetooth
Advantages: Sleek, excellent audio, good navigation
Disadvantages: No blue tooth and iPod support
...lots of products on my mind for the car stereo and there were, of course, lots of healthy suggestions. Number of my friends gave their vote for Clarion products but all suggested and done I decided to keep my faith on Sony and decided to go for Sony CDX-GT620U. First thing that is very impressive about this mp3 player is its sleek and gorgeous looks. Impressed I dug into its features and here it is for you:
>·Detachable faceplate
·>DRIVE-S gives extended durability of the CD drive
·>52 W x4 S-MOSFET amplifier
·>CD/CD-RW/mp3/WMA/ATRAC (from USB only)/AAC playback
·>USB input for easy playback of digital music
·>3 Segment LCD display for clear and readable playback information
·>Blue key illumination
·>Front AUX-INPUT compatibility
·>QuickBrowzer optionality.
>Wireless Remote control
Although someone suggested that it...
