Is the Sony card really worth it?
Advantages: Good opening offer
Disadvantages: Need to spend a lot to earn points/ Send you credit card cheques
...The Sony Card is an American Express credit card from MBNA. It is basically a reward card earning you one Sony Pulse Beat for every pound you spend (triple points if you buy Sony products).
The trick is to find a link where you are guaranteed points as soon as you sign up. If you go through Sony site you will only receive 4000 points but I got it through a link on moneysavingexpert (see earlier review) with 8200 points but this now seems to have been withdrawn.
The basics are as follows but should be checked on the website
0% pa on balance transfers for 12 months (3% handling fee)
0% pa on card purchases for 3 months
15.9% APR (typical rate)
No annual fee
You can access your account on line and there are competitions and you can sign up to an enewsletter to receive exclusive offers and the latest product info.
Here are...

Get a sexy card and free Sony stuff too
Advantages: Free Pulse Beats, exclusive monthly competitions to win amazing prizes, efficient and friendly customer service
Disadvantages: APR could be more competitive
...The best thing with SonyCard is that you can save up PulseBeats (loyalty points) and get some free Sony stuff! Whether you want to save for a free CD or a DVD player, this is the credit card for you! You receive one PulseBeat per pound spent, so the more money you spend, the quicker you can get free Sony stuff. Also whenever you buy a Sony product you get triple PulseBeats. This is great if you buy a lot of TriStar Columbia DVDs, Playstation games, or Sony Music CDs, or even a widescreen Sony TV as you will receive a lot of PulseBeats quickly.
There are also exclusive monthly "Dream Draws", where you have the chance to win 'money-can't-buy' holidays and Sony stuff like that cool robot dog AIBO. In the past they've offered trips to the Oscars ceremony and a VIP trip to the Monaco Grand Prix.
They gave me 1300 free PulseBeats when my...

Winning the card wars
Advantages: Use 2 types of cards in one camera
Disadvantages: Pricey
...If like me, you've got a variety of cameras, using different memory cards, you sometimes wish there was only one format. Why? Because then you can just buy a load of cards all of the same sort, and they'd work in all the cameras. The Minolta SD-CF1 is an adapter for those with a whole load of SD (Secure Digital) type cards, who also have a CF (Compact Flash) compatible camera too. Why should I need to buy a 512Mb CF for my Minolta, when I have a perfectly good 512Mb SD card for my brand new Megxon? Well with this device, I won't of course.
Although it's made by Minolta, and Minolta themselves only advertise it as compatible with certain cameras in their own range, it will in fact work with a variety of other CF cameras, including Canon and Nikon.
It's very simple. You take your adapter, slot the SD card into it, then slot the whole...

Goodd idea for sony fans..
Advantages: Loyalty scheme, special offers, special rates
Disadvantages: APR is higher than some others
...I admit, I got this card for the reason that. From the advertisement I saw online, it came with a free walkman, & I at that time needed one....
However, when the card arrived, I decided to keep it, and have yet to claim anything from the pulsebeats.
Pulsebeats are Sonycard's loyalty scheme. You get 1 pulsebeat for every pound spent, and you receive a catalogue where you can send for different sonly products when you have collected enough points. These include CD's, DVD's, and Sony electronic equipment. Currently when you apply for a Sonycard, you receive 2000 pulsebeats, which will buy you a CD, for example Beyonce's Dangerously in love is 1600 pulsebeats. It's not the best loyalty scheme, as it is limited, but its nice getting something back for your spending. Most people will find something they like in the catalogue. You...

SonyCard
Advantages: Great reward programme
Disadvantages: don't know
...This is one of the Credit Cards, where you can get accepted more easily, than any others. If you had problems with getting yourself a Credit Card- try to get this one.
This is Bank of Scotland card, which offers you 15.9% APR (variable) for balance transfers and purchases with reduced interest charges of 2.9% p.a. on balance transfers for the first 5 months.
If you pay off your balance in full, first few month, you'll get a bigger credit limit 6 month later.
SONYCard pays you back by giving you 1 pulsebeat per £1 you will spend using your Card. Every time you use your card you'll earn Pulsebeats, which you can exchange for FREE Sony products.
And you'll get 2000 Pulsebeats for FREE, just for getting accepted, that?s enough for claiming a FREE Columbia TriStar DVD or video, PlayStation® game, Sony Music CD or Sony WALKMAN...

Thumbs up for the Sony M2 memory card
Advantages: Good value for money (cheaper than most 2GB USB flash drives), and highly compact and portable
Disadvantages: Very small you so have to handle it really carefully
...I bought this memory stick for my Sony Ericsson Mobile phone back in December and it's still serving me well 6 months on, at the time I am writing this review. One of the desirable features of this product is its size. It's small compact nature means it can be easily popped in and out of your Sony Ericsson mobile phone at any time. At 2GB it can store about 500 MP3 files and about the same number of photos. It's also useful for storing PDF and word files if ever you don't a have a flash drive to hand You can also buy this memory card along with a USB card reader, which you just pop into your computer's USB port, and you're set to go.
However, the fact that it's so small means you have to be really careful when handling it, becuse if you drop it, it can be realy hard to find again. This is the only reason why I didn't give this product...

Nectar Card
Advantages: Lots of retailers to collect with
Disadvantages: Online points may not equal amount of cashback available elsewhere
...The nectar card is the loyalty card associated with Sainsbury's, however it has since branched out and is affiliated with many companies which allows for maximum point collecting!
Let's start with the basics, you get 2 points per pound spent at Sainsburys or 1 point per litre of petrol bought at the Sainsbury's petrol garage. Each point accumulated is worth half a penny, so you need 2 points to equal 1 pence. If you redeem your points in store at Sainbury's then you will need minimum 500 points for £2.50 off o your shopping. Points need to be redeemed in increments of 500.
Points can also be collected in other stores, for example Dolland and Aitchinson also give 2 points per pound, as do Homebase. As far as I am aware however, you cannot redeem your points against your total bills in these stores.
Points can also be collected...

Sony Playstation 3 (PS3)
Advantages: Best Entertainment System Avaliable, Region free games only
Disadvantages: 4GB file limitation External Storage, Cant read NTFS
...about this section is that it may be impressive now but soon it won't be as much, as computers are advancing rapidly now e.g. dual core, quad core games will be maybe 5 times better than the ps3 will be able to show. So if you are one of those people who wants to get the most they can from games then go with PC instead as it is easy to upgrade and games will continue to improve.
The GPU was developed by NVIDIA and Sony, This graphics card is similar to NVIDIA 7800. This tells me that already the pc has a better graphics card than the PS3 as NVIDIA has released 8800 ULTRA and soon will be releasing 9 series. Just makes you wonder how long it will be before Sony decides to make you buy a PS4. My bet is within 3-4 years. So is it worth spending that much money on a PS3 is the life expectancy is not long?
Storage is important...

Its only Sony - but I like it
Advantages: Its Sony
Disadvantages: You still have to pay it off
...Having been with my bank for over 15 years I was a bit peeved when m current bank decided that they would stop their rewards program and pu nothing in its place. As luck would have it, I received some junk mail - because surprisingly it was both well timed and welcome as it was the Sony Card application form.
The blurb said that the rewards program (called Pulse beats) was better than the norm, typically 3% of value rather than 1% - the twist is, if you buy Sony products you get double points - and at 1 point per £1 normally, this can soon stack up.
The rewards program is strictly Sony - no cash back, no vouchers - just Sony goods. So if your not into Sony - this is not the card for you.
The application process is slick enough, fill out the form and send it off, and within 10 days the cards are in your hands. As you can see by...

A Great System from Sony
Advantages: Nice Classy Design, Great Graphics, and a Good Online
Disadvantages: Small Gamelist Thus Far and Some Games Suffer From Framerate and Graphical Pop-Up Issues
...Sony's Playstation 3 is thier third go around in the Video Game business. My console reviews usually consist of reviews in the following categories Controller, Graphics, Multiplayer/Online, and Game Library. Much like the Xbox 360, i'll also be reviewing the Design of the PS3.
The design of the PS3 is the more classy of the three new consoles. The PS3 is a black square system with a curved top. While the design is beautiful, this system is very big, matching the 360 in terms of size. The system also offers Blu-ray but, in my opinion, that should not be the only reason you should be spending $400-500 on this system.
The PS3's controller is the classic Playstation controller once again and that shouldn't be a problem for any gamer. The original PS3 controller was the Sixaxis but is now Dualshock 3. For a company that created...
