Sony Handycam DCR TRV245 - a good camcorder

Advantages: Looks modern, good for it's age, many features, good battery life
Disadvantages: Can now get much better for much less! A bit big in todays world

You get plenty of features with this camera. The NightShot function and built in light is really useful for when it's dark, you can record anything in any lighting conditions what so ever. There is a exposure contol also, so it won't be too light! It has 20X optical zoom, 700 times digital zoom, which wasn't bad for when it was new. It has a stereo microphone built into it, which does work well, though not too good in a lot of wind. Needs to face the oposite direction to the wind really. Strangly, you can not add a external microphone, which would be useful, but oh well, it does the trick. It has 8 Picture Effects and 6 Programme AE, which aren't all...

Advantages: Becoming cheap, lightweight, feature packed.
Disadvantages: standard battery doesnt last long

...Sony have always had a great name in the market for Camera, as an entry level Camcorder, its quite capable of holding its own, and it wont be long until your video can be transfered from Camera and onto the PC, or sent off to Jeremy Beadle or who ever does that show these days. I find the TRV15E is quite light around 600g and fits neatly into the hand, within easy reach are the power buttons, snapshot and zoom buttons. The Camera has a digital Zoom of 120x. Hidden under the 2.5in colour screen are all the other controls for volume, search, display and playback. Beneath these buttons you also have the focus, fader and backlight , all within easy reach when your shooting your latest masterpiece.
