8mm Tapes are so last year!

Advantages: Good quality tapes that will work and last

Getting movie data from camcorder to computer

Advantages: Digital movie format, good price and good optics
Disadvantages: Super8 tape, USB stream

...and it appears to load the driver. But it doesn't. Then a window comes up titled USB Streaming and you can see your video from the camera in a window and hear the audio from your soundcard. But if your USB is version 1 the picture and the audio will flicker. you actually get broken and only part of the audio. The video appears better. With USB version 2 which is faster the audio is still broken but better. I must say, in my opinion I wasted my money buying the camcorder that has a USB port. Sony recommends using the Ilink which is a IEEE1394 format which I do not have on my computer. I will Google and see if the IEEE1394 device can be purchased for my computer. Then you need to buy the proper cable from Sony because the plug on the camcorder is special. I hope someone manufactures a device that mounts in a computer that plays...

Can't Believe I Waited So Long To Buy One!

Advantages: Cost, picture/sound quality, ease of use
Disadvantages: Needs brighter light or ability to use a better one

...went to Circuit City to see what happens in that situation, and it was well worth the drive. Without the receipt, and only the Credit Card I used to purchase it, they refunded the difference back onto my card, all in about 5 minutes. So I ended up getting the camera for around $240.00!!! Awesome! I took it home, opened it up, and began to charge it while I went through all the features in the manual. Some things I just had to wait for a full charge for, so I could actually try it on the unit, as to familiarize myself with the functions. After that it was time to start playing. It comes with 2 books, and it covers a wide variety of camcorders made by Sony. I'm sure they save a lot of money like that, but it becomes a pain to see features in the book, and when you look for them on the unit, they don't exist, because it is for another...

Sony Alpha A200 (Digital SLR)

...camera is compatible with the old Minolta lenses - which are cheaper and often better that the Sony ones (for more advanced photos). The manual settings are easy to use, however are a little rigid, and I find do not give you the same flexibility as some of the more expensive digital SLRs or manual ones (Cannon ones are very good for this), however for the price of the Sony, the settings are reasonable. Down to the most important point - image quality. I cannot really find fault with this at all, and this is comparable to some of the much more expensive Canon and Pentax SLRs! The lens provided with this camera is not the best for very close up and macro photography, however it tends to perform very well for any other shots - and there is always the option to change to a better lens for these purposes. Sony Camcorder Battery

This meant that when I got my new camcorder for Christmas this year I was then able to transfer my old battery for a back-up. I have bought so many of these batteries because I do a lot of sightseeing. I have also choose this battery over any other because it holds an extremely good charge. The Best of the range of Digital 8 Camcorders

Advantages: Super night shot and 25x optical and excellent stabilisaton systen

...has a ring manual focus which is handy. Comes with a 8MB memory stick which gives about 80 photos in best mode, image size max is 640x480. Have used this a lot instead of taking a separate digital camera. The quality of pictures is quite good and have used this a lot when on holiday. The Sony rechargeable battery that came with it last about 120mins so it would be good to get a spare especially the infoLITHUM for a back up. Size of camera approx Depth (mm) 85.0 H. 101.0 W. 206.0, quite big compared to newer models but easier to hold and keep steady when shooting, has excellent super steady shot when filming on rough terrain. Having a remote come in handy too, digital program editing, as Hi8/video8 playback, software pixela imagemixer version 1.0, didn't think much of that but you can pick up a very good different software nowadays...
