Neat addition
Review of Ericsson chatboard by
winprizes2000
Advantages: easier sms-ing
Disadvantages: not standard
...This is a little known but extremely useful mobile phone accessory - and one that is available for avout £10.
The Ericsson chatboard plugs directly into the base of the mobile and supplies a QWERTY keyboard to enable you to type SMS messages quicker and more accurately than via the traditional multi key press method.
There is a fractional time delay between the character being input and appearing on the screen but you soon get used to this. I find the chatboard more user friendly that predictive text input but it is not supplied as standard as does have to be carried seperately though it does come with a neat case.
The chatboard works with T10/18/28 and other new Ericsson mobiles....

Jimmy_D

Disadvantages: Track name only scrolls once
...part is the pice/sound quality mix. everything sounds so crisp and well output. Sony have created a cheap CD/MP3 system that blows the socks off my last setup.

Sonys IPOD Rival
Review of Sony Vaio VGF-AP1L 40 GB Black by
grovej
Advantages: Good design and allows photos to be viewed on the screen
Disadvantages: Still uses sony ATRAC3 format and all MP3's have to be converted
..., the album sleve, Kylie, or whatever. One of the good things about the player is that it allows you to download and view your photos on the screen as well, although 2.2 inch is not very large if you are away it can provide a nice reminder of your loved ones. If you have a Sony digital camera you can download photos directly from the camera to the device, perfect for long holidays where your memory card is not quite big enough!
To sum up unfortunatly for Sony it is a good looking device, but it is not an IPOD, if you can live with that then functionaly it is a good device and with Sony offering firmware updates it looks as if it will only get better. You will almost certainly get this device cheaper than a 40GB IPOD so it is good value with all the other features that would make you go to an IPOD Photo.
I paid £250 for this one on the Totenham...

My sony vaio
Review of Sony VAIO K315S - Mobile Pentium 4 532 3.06 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
cj101uk
Advantages: Great range of software, Excellent for media
Disadvantages: Heavy
...When i was looking for a laptop I wanted something that would last, something that was affordable, and something that offered all my needs. I searched for a long time, never finding anything with the specifications I needed, all offered what seemed to be uncompatible features. Then I came across the Sony Vaio range, the K315S, and immediately I was drawn to it. The quality of the on board speakers, the crispness of the 'X-black LCD' and the power of it, supporting a 3.06Ghz processor and a 'Mobility Radeon 9200 64mb'. This allows me to play some of todays demanding games such as 'Doom3', and has now become my favoured choice for watching Dvds. I found my Sony vaio to be excellent for my work, allowing me to connect my sony memory stick directly into the unit itself allows easy access to my photos and movies, with the adobe software...

Excellent Ericsson Car Hands Free
Review of Sony Ericsson T18S by
johnalderton
Advantages: Excellent Ericcson self-fit car kit
Disadvantages: phone has a habit of turning itself off
...I have been using the T18s for about one year now (on the Cellnet network) and reception is excellent compared to earlier phones (have been with Celnett since 1987). My one complaint is that the phone does have the habit of turning itself off on occasions.
Ericsson does an excellent self-fit car kit which consists of a cradle to fix to the facia, and a speaker and microphone which fits to the roof-lining of the car just above the drivers ear. The cable is flat, and can easily be pressed into the area between the rubber door surround and the roof lining so it is invisible. In the shops this costs about £120 but I phoned Ericsson direct and it cost me less that £60. It is reliable and also charges the phone battery. Fitting took me less than 30 minutes. the power comes from the cigarette lighter....

Good solid MP3 player!
Review of Sony Network Walkman NW-E107 1 GB Blue by
sam_mule2k
Advantages: Small and compact, good sound quality, replaceable battery
Disadvantages: A tadge flimsy, no clip
...with it for only a short time. It accomplishes everything it is intended to do. I compressed several CD's and transferred them directly into the player via the software. I also transferred numerous MP3's into the player. The player came with a coupon for five free downloads from the Sony Connect Music Store. I took advantage of the coupon, and downloaded the free songs. The music store can be accessed directly via the Internet or through the SonicStage software suite.
The buttons are simple and excellent. There are too many players with tiny buttons that these big thumbs can't press easily while jogging; this player does it right.
I have no complaints with the sound of the player. The sound is crystal clear, and tone preferences can be adjusted manually. I also found the player to have plenty of volume when used with the included headphones. It does...

Sony Walkman NW-A1000 MP3 6 GB
Review of Sony Walkman NW-A1000 6 GB Violet by
BLACKDOG100
Advantages: Looks well, feel great in your hand
Disadvantages: Connect software as supplied, that must be used to load music
...with the player.
For me anyway it was difficult to configure onto my PC. and it just is difficult, and akward to use.
The real problem is that the Connect software is the only means of transfering music onto the player, as direct transfer of files from your PC does not work. The files will transfer if you copy them across but the player will not recogine them unless they have been transfered using the Sony software.
The price does seems to be a bit excessive when compared to some other players outside of the "ipods"
In summary it does look, sound and feel like a quality item which I and my son are pleased with. It is just a pity about the poor software package that is supplied which Sony need to address.
Thanks for reading.

Sony HT-K215
Review of Member Advice on Mini or Micro? by
cabletow
Advantages: A tiny blast
Disadvantages: I suppose you could lose the speakers
...away easily. There is a subwoofer included to give depth to the sound and that is 8 X 10 inches.
Contrast this with the Technics 125W per channel but the central spaeker only has 8 watts. The amp produces prologic and 6 channel sound only and the speakers are 3 foot high.
I cannot beleive at the difference in sound performance. The Sony produces crystal clear directed sound that fills the room completely. The Technics sounds muffled and boomy.
Never before have I been a fan of the micro system. Sony have however shown me that micro is now best by far and this icoming from such a tiny package....

Sony + Carl Zeiss = pure quality
Review of Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T33 by
chapuk
Advantages: Strong, sleek, amazing lens quality
Disadvantages: no viewfinder
...This is the third in the series of "T" range cameras from sony, and the best looking yet. A slim, strong, robust, metallic casing makes this a very desirable model with a sony badge to finish it off. Although sony do not traditionally make cameras, they are a brand who always make quality products and have collaborated with Carl Zeiss to produce a very high quality lens for this model.
With respect to features, this camera is jam packed. With a 5 mega pixel CCD, coupled with a Carl Zeiss lens, the print quality from this camera is outstanding. The 3X optical zoom gives good flexibility to the type of photos which can be taken. The camera comes equipped with a video function with sound which is very high quality, and the 2.5" LCD screen makes for perfect viewing. This camera also comes with pre-program modes such as portrait, landscape...

Amazing display, though this does not have XBLACK feature of SONY ,the display is verybright and good.(14 inch)

The INBUILT SPEAKERS are very clear and i would recommend this for any personal music.Very smooth keyboard and easy to type unlike the dell inspirons.
It gives an onboard MEMORY STICK DUO slot to read the MS Duo , this is very helpful for sony fans.I use Sony handycam and sony digicams of which the MS-Duo can directly be plugged into the slot to read the data.
But, if you...
