Sony's WEGA
Review of Sony KV 32FX60 by
GMulford
Advantages: Amazing contrast and colour
Disadvantages: Price
...I bought this TV after looking at many TVs,. I would recommend this TV for anyone who wants to get the best out of DVD's. The most shocking feature of this TV is that the screen is perfectly flat and has an amazingly vivid and colourful picture. The 100Hz processing dose not cause any artifacts or motion blur. It also has excellent sound but I would still recommend running it through a Hifi. A usfull feature of this TV is that it caches the pages on teletext so you can step through them.
The TV comes with a stand with tinted glass windows that intergrates with the TV seamlessly. Panasonic‘s Tau TV' are similar but I prefer the Sony....

KV28FX20 A good all rounder.
Review of Sony KV 28FX20 by
kelvinpapp
Advantages: Good Picture, reasonable Sound.
Disadvantages: Relatively high price in comparison to other manufacturers
...Sony have always been a manufacturer who like to stay at the top of the market and the launch nearly 18 months ago of the FX20 in its current form merely confounds this. Incororating Sony's WEGA technology, the picture is exceptionally good for a "basic" 50hz television, and coupled with a DVD player the effect is simply stunning. The set is catered for in the sound department with a simple Nicam setup which although not particularly technologically advanced, is effective none the less. If you're really looking for a Pro-Logic set, Sony also manufacture the KV28FS20 which is identical in every way except that it has a Dolby Pro-Logic setup in preference to it's Nicam equivalent.
In summary, the FX20 is a fantastic set, though if you can afford the 100hz set then you will obviously reap the benefits (the KV28FX60). If you're looking...

Sony WEGA - Probably the Best
Review of Sony KV 32FX60 by
jdesa
Advantages: Picture and Sound
Disadvantages: Boy is this thing heavy (65kg), SMART setting not too smart
...I spent over a year looking around before short listing the Sony. I actually brought it through the LetsBuyIt.Com co-buyer and spent £889, but that didn't include a stand or for that matter an English-Language manual!
However, you don't need a manual to set it up the TV or to use it. One of the more striking features is that the screen is perfectly flat which does take a bit of getting used to - now I have problems looking at stand 4:3 sets!.
I would recommend this TV for anyone who wants to get the best out of DVD's. The picture is superb and the 100Hz processing appears to work with no signs of flicker. The sound is excellent even with just the two speakers, but I would recommed hooking up a surround sound system.
The TV sports 3 scart sockets on the rear, one of which can be switched to phono inputs on the front. 3 sockets...

Flat Screen Heaven
Review of Sony KV 28FX60 by
sadcrab
Advantages: excellent flicker free viewing
Disadvantages: Heavy
...and if it is as reliable as the other Sony equipment I’ve got it will only need replacing when the technology inside it becomes obsolete!
I paid £890.00 for the set, which came with a Free Sony DVD player and was £100 cheaper than the Sony Centre sale price. I could have bought the set for £100 less without the DVD player but in view of the fact that the DVD player is retailing at £170.00 I am better off taking the deal and selling the DVD player.
The set I've got is the latest version of this TV a KV-28FX65 the KV-28FX60 is no longer available...

A very sexy Sony
Review of Sony KV32FX60D by
tan55555
Advantages: Great picture quality
Disadvantages: A very heavy TV at 70KG
...Firstly let me say that this review is for the Sony KV32FX60, not the KV32FX60D. The only difference beyween the two models is that the 'D' has a built in digital receiver. There is no Ciao category for my TV, the KV32FX60, so I've put it here until it gets moved.
Okay, on with the Opinion. I bought my TV in 2000 from John Lewis on Oxford Street. This is an excellent place to buy TVs from, because they have a policy of price matching all of the stores within a couple of miles radius. In the case of Oxford Street this includes all of the cheap shops on Tottenham Court Road as well as high street shops like Dixons etc. I paid £995 for it, and at the time the cheapest quote I got elsewhere was £1195 and the most expensive £1395 which is a big difference, so if you are buying a TV give John Lewis Oxford Street a ring. Another bonus...

All I can say is wow
Review of Sony KV 32FX60 by
leahslad
Advantages: Fantasic all round - the flat screen makes an amazing difference!
Disadvantages: ummmmmm.....
...Wow
The Sony team have really done it this time. I set out looking for a large TV, eventually settling for the 32" Sony. It cost me a pretty penny at £1435 but I thought it was well worht it - especially when I got it home.
Its hard to get used to a flat screen but now I wouldn't give it up, after a week or so it becomes second nature - and you notice just how bad ordinary screens are. I now refuse to watch my girlfriends TV as it doesnt seem right on my eyes (not that she minds, she is perfectly happy to cuddle up and watch it at my house instead :)).
The TV is able to support modern features and mine came with a stand and surround sound (which I highly recommend in the right surroundings). The problem I originally had with the surround sound was that I set it up incorrectly. It is important to get the right speakers...

Can outperform the models which replaced it.
Review of Sony KV28FX65 by
colin99
Advantages: Probably the best 28" picture available
Disadvantages: Lousy sound.
...must be very careful, there are some powerful springs and a mechanism which could probably chop your finger off.
There is a weakness in the set, which Sony refuse to admit to. There is a very slight ghosting on all images including even the sets own internally generated menus! The FX60 did not suffer from this, and it is almost certainly caused by penny pinching in the components. From a distance you shouldn't notice it, but it is a pity that Sony let down the picture in this way, because had it not been for this, it would have been unarguably the best TV tube picture available anywhere at any price. It probably still is the best, even with this weakness.
Some people (myself included) have had "purity" errors on these sets. Typically, the bottom left corner has strange coloured splodges and purples in it. If you get this problem...

Rectangular Eyes Saga
Review of Sony KV 28FX60 by
pasnip2000
Advantages: You can watch films how they were made to be watched. Excellent picture quality.Surround Sound is great for movies like the Matrix and the Fifth Element.
Disadvantages: Only 2 scart sockets can cause aggreviation, when you have a lot of extra equipment. Although you can loop them through the video.
...Hi i am Alex and this is my review on the Sony Widescreen TV:please rate this review, thankyou
This is my story skip to the end if you want info on what the tv is actually like.
I went around the internet for about 4 months before deciding at long last this was the TV for me. I had speculated over the fact that there are only 2 scart sockets on the back of the TV for quite a wile. But having made my mind up I proceeded down to the local Dixons to buy my new TV.
When I had got home I opened the rather large box and took the television out. I did not need the stand as I already had a cabinate to put the TV in.
I fiddled around for hours around the back to try all the different combinations of sockets and plugs.
The thing is I have got Sky Digital, a DVD player and a VCR, thus meaning I have 3 scart plugs but only 2 sockets. At first I...
