Sony Handycam
Advantages: Great Features, Easy to use, Sony product - well priced and quality, Durable
Disadvantages: None
.... The battery would have a lot of power on it but it would still turn off. I expect this Handycam to be in the family for a long time to come. I think it will last for many years because it is well made and technicaly superb.
*Range/Quality of Features*
This Sony Handycam does have a large number of different features and functions that it can perform. This is another positive about the camera which made my Dad purchase it in the first place.
The camera has a Digital Zoom capability of 120x. This allows the user to get really close up shots of objects in the distance. This Handycam can double up as a Webcam for your PC. This is quite a good feature to have, because it saves you a few quid not having to buy your own Webcam. The Viewfinder, or screen for some people, is high quality. It is an LCD monitor which gives you really clear images...

The Energizer Battery Charger
Advantages: Good value for money
Disadvantages: Takes a long time to charge batteries
...I had been intending to purchase a battery charger for quite a while. In fact I had even dropped hints to certain family members around Christmas time, but to no avail. I was recently reminded of this missing piece of equipment in my life when I rediscovered the PC lead to my digital camera. Remembering that a pair of standard batteries lasted for only about 30 photos in this camera I decided that it was certainly time to invest in a battery charger and some rechargeable batteries.
I purchased an Energizer CHDCW8 ? 4 battery charger from Argos for just £9.99. This decision was based on several factors, the most important of which was the price and what I considered to be the best value for money. The design also played a part in my decision process, but in the end it was the price/value that were the strongest influencing factors...

Sony Handycam DCR DVD202E - a beauty
Advantages: Watch playback instantly
Disadvantages: Price of Rewritable DVDs - well worth it though
...~#What you need to know!#~
This is the same camera that you see on the sony adverts. And I believe this new direct recording on to DVD is going to drastically change the way we view Camcorders. It really is stupidy easy to shoot and film, even for novices such as myself.
The 1.07 Megapixels Advanced HAD CCD enables unbelievably true image recording. I'm not sure whether on the images it is still 1.07Mp's as I have another sony camera with 7.2Mp and the image quality is identical. Also the 12x optical zoom offers all of the close-ups that you could imagine. However after taken the pictures there is a 480x digital zoom which allows you to people watch on you street beautifully!
Finally for this section the coloured view finder enables you to snap instantly and quickly what you require. Also its rotating system allows...

Sony Handycam DCR TRV285E
Advantages: good quality pictures, small, stylish, remote control
Disadvantages: Only 90 mins battery life, can be confusing connecting to PC
...The Sony Handycam DCR TRV285E is a great camera for first time users. This camera can easily be operated without even having to read the instruction manual. It has the "Easy Handycam" feature which sets the camera settings automatically. The camera is light and easy to use. When recording there is a zoom function, the ability to have a title for the movie and various faders for opening and closing shots. The camera has a nightvision mode which uses infrared and gives you an eeirie green appearance to everything which is actually quite handy, or if filming in dull locations there is a handy light on the front of the camera. The camera can also be used to take still shots with a simple press of a button, this means you don't need to carry your normal camera as well.
The camera comes with a remote control which allows you to control...

Super Sony charger
Advantages: Fast Charge, Auto CutOff
Disadvantages: Only takes AA/AAA
...Getting fed up with constantly having to buy new batteries for our Wii remotes, we started looking into buying some of the rechargeable battery packs you can buy for them. I read a few reviews and decided that it would probably be better to buy a battery charger and a few sets of batteries instead.
After looking around I found the Sony High Capacity Super Quick Charger For AA And AAA Batteries and for £16.99 with four AA batteries included it seemed like a good deal, almost all of our electrical items seem to be Sony so with it being a brand we trusted I bought it.
The charger itself is fairly compact measuring 4" x 2½" x 1" (not including the power lead) it won't take up a lot of room, the power lead is also removable so you can store it away quite easily. The lead is also the same as the other Sony leads we have so if it gets...

Sony Handycam DCR SR90E
Advantages: very easy to use, records over 7 hrs on to hard drive,
Disadvantages: you need a dvd burner
...a bigger battery than the one, which is included with the camcorder.
You can burn the video on to DVD- plug the camcorder into the computer and press the DVD burn button - easy
You can preview you video on the screen or using the cable provided plug into your TV to view.
You and create a sequence of video clips to play after each other.
I haven't had time to mastered editing my video clips so I can't comment of the software provided
Overall this is an excellent all round camcorder - easy to use - no expensive DVD's to buy - as you can record on to normal Blank DVDs
Bad points - you need a DVD burner to burn on to DVD and if you use the underwater kit you will need to buy a bigger battery....

Sony Handycam DCR TRV245 - a good camcorder
Advantages: Looks modern, good for it's age, many features, good battery life
Disadvantages: Can now get much better for much less! A bit big in todays world
...I brought this about 4 or 5 years ago, so it is getting fairly old now. I brought it from Agros, at £300, which, at the time, was a good deal, however, you now see camcorders 10 times better, smaller, and lighter, for a much lower price. Damn, if only they were that cheap back then... But oh well.
The camcorder's looks is pretty nice, looks modern (even though now fairly old), and quite stylish. In it's time, it was fairly small and light, but obviously now you'll get lighter and smaller, but it is fine to take around anyway, and in the package I brought it with, I got a case I can take it around in.
Overall picture quality is fairly good, better than VHS, not quite DVD though! You can use you computer to put the video onto DVD, or use a DVD recorder, and you'll get a fair image quality. The picture you'll get on the LCD screen (2...
