...Originally bought as an upgrade from my battered old Sony video camcorder, this has proven to be quite the gem i thought it wouldnt turn out to be... Able to record both at widescreen and tv aspects, sony has already given the advantage to users who wish to watch on their 48inch plasma screens(a luxury most of us do not have), and so instantly grab a whole chunk of the market. As for recording time, it leaves much to be desired if using a standard DV tape, which can, surprisingly, only take an hour of footage. If your pockets are big you could shell out and buy the memory chip (up to 2gb worth is supported), and thus give yourself more recording time, but, realistically, at that price you could buy a whole load of tapes. Advantages: small, very high quality, durable,
Disadvantages: none to be honest

...a strap which prevents it from falling (I didnt do so when I dropped it twice but no harm done, still its a heads up), all relevant buttons which you might use when recording are reachable with the hand that is strapped in and holding the camcorder. It takes mini DV tapes. it takes 5-6 hours for it to charge fully. The company is reliable as it is sony and they give good customer support. I would recommend this to all camcorder buyers....
