Disadvantages: Price of Rewritable DVDs - well worth it though

...on the Rewritable DVDs. For a while now sony have teamed up with Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar to supply their lenses. I have had numerous sony camera's and there clear shots and focusing abilities have never let me down yet. The view finder is 2.7" which is easily big enough with 123200 pixels so you can instantly see quality pictures. The camera comes with shoulder strap and required cables for plugging into the computer and the T.V. I have been lead to believe that the software in these packages changes from month to month. However the Imagemixer that I got with this camera enables me to edit as much and as often to a high standard whenever I like. ~#Cost and Usability#~ The Camera cost £570 at the time I purchased it however I am sure that now it is available cheaper. Advantages: Really Easy to use and Excellent Touch Screen
Disadvantages: Batter doesn't last to long!

...This is truely an excellent Digital Camcorder, the touch screen display make setting all the features up really easy and makes them all quickly acessable. The Unit is really well made and has excellent conectivity via Firewire to your PC. The battery is not the best in the world and last a maximum of an hour and a half in normall conditions. The Camcorder has a very good loading mechanism for the Mini-DV tapes, which are quite reasonably priced in most shops and even better on-line! The DCR-PC8E is excellently laid out for all of the controls that are not provided by the touch screen and can all be used with your hand in the carrying strap. This camcorder is exactly what I require - its light and compact it can record about 7 hours video and 9999 photos. Its very easy to use - simply by flicking the dial to move between shooting video, taking photos and viewing your videos and photos. The photos are an excellent quality 3 mega pixels - and you could not tell the difference from those taken on my Sony P150 (which has 7 mega pixels) As the camcorder is so light and compact it is easy to carry it round and get it out to take some photos. Sony Handycam DCR TRV245 - a good camcorder

Advantages: Looks modern, good for it's age, many features, good battery life
Disadvantages: Can now get much better for much less! A bit big in todays world

...I brought this about 4 or 5 years ago, so it is getting fairly old now. I brought it from Agros, at £300, which, at the time, was a good deal, however, you now see camcorders 10 times better, smaller, and lighter, for a much lower price. Damn, if only they were that cheap back then... But oh well. The camcorder's looks is pretty nice, looks modern (even though now fairly old), and quite stylish. In it's time, it was fairly small and light, but obviously now you'll get lighter and smaller, but it is fine to take around anyway, and in the package I brought it with, I got a case I can take it around in. Overall picture quality is fairly good, better than VHS, not quite DVD though! You can use you computer to put the video onto DVD, or use a DVD recorder, and you'll get a fair image quality.
