...The Playstation 2 has sold in excess of over 100 million consoles since it was released back in 2000. When orginally released the Playstation 2 was much larger in size than the slimline version which Sony released in 2004. I am going to look into what are the benefits of the new system and look at the good and bad features. Good Features The Slimline Playstation 2 is much quieter than the original console because it simply looks much better, the slim design is better on the eye and also it is less noisy as the console does not have a fan. Instead it uses air vents to keep the console cool. It does the job to be honest because I owned the console for over 2 years and it has never crashed or overheated. PS/2 Slimline a real tonic from Sony

Advantages: small and sexy
Disadvantages: is it a fragile kitten

...I should start by saying that I am not part of the PlayStation generation, I'm 44 and my first introduction to gaming outside of arcades was awarded to me as the result of an on line competition when I won a good old PSOne (yes, people do win those draws), that was about 7 or 8 years ago I guess. About 5 years ago I upgraded to the original PS/2 and have enjoyed many late nights / early mornings gaming on that till about 8 months ago when it gave up the ghost. With the launch of PS/3 'imminent' I thought I could wait for that - but Oh No it gets delayed and delayed again and my patience runs out. A Model Book

Advantages: Good story, good twists, entertaining
Disadvantages: Poppy did whinge a LOT

...I'm forever browsing Amazon for the latest book releases to try to find something new that catches my eye, and I've been lucky lately because there has been quite an influx on new books on to the market this summer! Also worth noting is the fact that there are two MagicGate? ports for memory cards so you can still save your position in any games to come back to at a later time. Another smart move is to have an internal Ethernet port for network game play fitted; now you simply have to load the Sony network access disk and link your PS2 to a router to enjoy fun and games with other like minded folk. But why Sony have not included the network access disk in the box is beyond me, perhaps it is to ensure you register your PS2 as you cannot get the disk without doing so. Review of America's Most Smartest Model

Fantastic console, even if it is 9 years old!

Advantages: Game palying facility, CD Player, grpahics, sound
Disadvantages: Pricey, average range of features

...basically it. Considering this was first made nearly a decade ago, you can't expect much to be on it either. Ease of Use I've found this very easy to use. I was 10 when I got my PS2, and I got on very well with it straight away without having to look at the manual all the time. The controls are simple and the menus are quite easy to follow so you shouldn't have a lot of difficulty getting around. Value For Money I'm not exactly sure how much it was, but it was between £90 and £100. I think, that this price is a bit too high especially when you can only do three things on the console. I think a price between £70-£80 would be more reasonable but because this is a Sony product, the prices go through the roof (I'd wait to some sort of sale to get a Sony product). The game playing function is brilliant and so is the CD...

Why didn't they make this in the first place?!

Advantages: Nearly silent, saves more room than the original PS2
Disadvantages: None really, just a bit expensive, not by much though!
