Simple MP3 phone from Sony Ericsson

...SONY ERICSSON W810i The Sony Ericsson W810i is an early Walkman phone from Sony Ericsson. Mine was originally obtained from a contract a few years back but it's currently worth around £70 when bought new, but much less on eBay. It's a candy bar phone with a camera and the ability of playing MP3s out loud. NAVIGATION Navigation is very zippy and I've not experienced any crashes. Moving from screen to screen and selecting the desired options is very easy using the directional buttons. The Play/Pause button looks like a joystick but luckily it's just a button, which is just as well as later Sony Ericsson phones had a joystick for navigation which was prone to problems. Advantages: long battery Life (about 25-30 hours depending on whether you are just listening to music or surfing through tracks
Disadvantages: Can't see the screen very well in bright sunlight

...I'm on my second Sony now (having had one stolen by some thieving scumbag). When it came to looking for a replacement i thought hard about whether to get a sony againbut when it came down to it there was little choice. The massive battery life of the sony compared to other MP3's makes it the obvious one to choose especially if your planning to travel with it. I t has a massive 30-35 hours straight playing time athough this is reduced a little if you spend a lot of time searching through tracksor comiling playlists. The charge time is pretty minimal too. you can get about 10-15 hours out of a one hour charge which totally wipes the floor with the I-pod and the creative. It looks great, is light and fits nicely into your back pocket it is also pretty scratch resistant (i dropped my first one twice and no marks were left on it!) unlike...

...I was bought this MP3 walkman as a birthday gift a few months ago, so have had a little while to test it out. The unit itself is extremely compact and is a similar size to the USB flash memory sticks you see on the market. For those who have not used or seen one of these, it's about the size of a disposable cigarette lighter. As such it will fit easily into any pocket, but it also has a small hole at the top so a strap can be fitted (not included), allowing it to be hung round your neck. The unit charges from the USB drive on your computer. Just pull off the cap at the bottom and plug it in and the display on the front tells you it is charging.
