I chose Sony as they are a company that I like to use and I have always been impressed with their products. The cost of this mp3 player has gone down in time, however it is still cheaper than the 20GB ipod. There are other brands on the market now such as the creative zen and apple so the price has gone down. The design is very sleek. It is smaller tham a packet of 20 cigarettes, as a woman who loves tiny bags, this is the perfect size. It can fit in your pocket or even the smallest handbag. ...I was bought this MP3 walkman as a birthday gift a few months ago, so have had a little while to test it out. The unit itself is extremely compact and is a similar size to the USB flash memory sticks you see on the market. For those who have not used or seen one of these, it's about the size of a disposable cigarette lighter. As such it will fit easily into any pocket, but it also has a small hole at the top so a strap can be fitted (not included), allowing it to be hung round your neck. The unit charges from the USB drive on your computer. Just pull off the cap at the bottom and plug it in and the display on the front tells you it is charging. ...clip, armbands and earphones that have a neckstrap as well as water proof cases etc. but these obviously come at a price which cunningly is not included in the leaflet they provide with the MP3 in the box!! All in all this Sony Walkman is a great purchase, as it is easy to use, looks great and is reliable. I myself have bought 2 of the little wonders, one for me and another as a present. ...Good Points: -Looks good. -Small, fits easily into crowded pockets. -Good battery life and very fast recharge. (mine has recharged in half an hour) -Nice sound quality. -Display is easy to see and read. -It's reasonably durable, I have dropped it on numerous occasions without and damage. Also a friend of mine spilled wine all over it, which pooled inside the player, after which it worked fine and eventually most of the wine has come out. ...of battery warnings, this machine WILL tell you how much battery you have left, rather than telling you it has full battery for 90% of the time, then running out about 30mins after the first bar goes. I have been sitting here for an hour now........looking at it and listening to it..........i have found 1 flaw...........the plastic shield that covers the charger port and usb jack, is held on with two tiny thin pieces of plastic.........one of the is broken. Thats it................... I cant finnish this review without a comparison to the ipod......i held the NW-HD5 upto my old ipod......and i could actually hear the ipod sobbing. In 5 years time........If MP3's are stll the format of choise, their design and functionallity will be measured against Sonys Network Walkman NW-HD5 MP3....

...working fine again just like that. Software? Yeah right. it uses SonicStage which was already dropped by sony but still in use in JAPAN. For some people its a crap software. But familiarity and regular usage will give you enough knowledge on how to use it. I prefer SonicStage than Windows Media Player though. (Since I'm Used to it) Total Hours of Usage depends on the Battery that you will use. So I suggest you to use a higher MaH of AAA Battery. for longer Hours of playback. I use Fully Charged 1500Mah Rechargeable Battery on it and WOW. Continuous playback gets up to 30Hrs. Swear.....
