Asus Eee PC 1000H - One of the nicest netbooks to date

...I was very lucky to get our Asus Eee PC 1000H today. The version I have here is a 10-inch Windows XP version, with 1GB RAM and an 80GB hard drive. Having only just unboxed the tiny wonder and played with it for around one hour, this is my very early impressions. Firstly, the accessories you get in the box make it seem a lot better value than other offerings. The stumpy, yet high capacity battery should yield much longer runtimes than the 3-cell batteries shipping with other netbooks. You also get a nice little manual, a polishing cloth, Support CD and MS Works 9.0 licence. There is also a slip case, which is functional and means you can get out-and-about with your Eee very quickly. The 1000H unit is very very sexy. Sony NW-A1000: Small, stylish,

...I had my eyes on this player for a long time, and finally decided to treat myself and buy one. I was not disappointed! With the NW-A1000, Sony have managed to create a small, incredibly portable and stylish player, with great sound quality and superb battery life. The design is quite unique - when turned off, the intuitive screen blends into the player. The first issue on most people's minds with regards to this model is whether it is worth paying a little bit extra and buying the size up, with a 20GB hard drive. Another member of my family had this model, and I personally found it a little too large in dimensions. It didn't slip into my pocket easily, and was bulkier in my hands than my smaller 6GB model. ...about this section is that it may be impressive now but soon it won't be as much, as computers are advancing rapidly now e.g. dual core, quad core games will be maybe 5 times better than the ps3 will be able to show. So if you are one of those people who wants to get the most they can from games then go with PC instead as it is easy to upgrade and games will continue to improve. The GPU was developed by NVIDIA and Sony, This graphics card is similar to NVIDIA 7800. This tells me that already the pc has a better graphics card than the PS3 as NVIDIA has released 8800 ULTRA and soon will be releasing 9 series. Just makes you wonder how long it will be before Sony decides to make you buy a PS4. My bet is within 3-4 years. Advantages: fully-functional media center & Blu-Ray player, and LINUX!!!

Sony 6Gb NWA1000 MP3 Player

Advantages: Trusted brand, durable quality product

...The Sony Walkman NW-A1000 6Gb MP3 player is very user friendly. It has more than enough space to store most of the music you would need for the car or gym. As Sony were the original personal music centre creators, its kind of ironic that they have made a good, usable music player. The player itself is more blue in colour rather than violet (although the earphones definately look violet - I've replaced them for other Sony earphones) You need Sonic stage software rather than the 'Connect' software that it comes with, this can sometimes struggle to convert MP3s onto the player which is a pain. It means that on occasion, because the mp3 format isn't recognised (God Knows Why?) you need to burn the files onto a CD, then import the CD onto the music library for placing onto the MP3 Player.
