Panasonic PT AX 100 E

...Updated review. I have been using the Panasonic PT AX 100E as my main TV, in conjunction with a freeview box and a DVD player, for just over a year now. I paid £900 for it then, but the price has dropped and even the improved PT AX200 can now be bought for about £700. The reason for the low rating is because of it's unreliability and Panasonic's inability to fix it when it went wrong, as described below. In all other respects it is a very good projector. The picture quality is extremely good in a dark room and quite watchable during the day even with the curtains open for all but the darkest movies. In bright conditions the colours can become a little washed-out although there are various viewing options on the remote control to compensate a little. For some very dark films however you should wait until the room can be blacked out...

Fantastic multi purpose DV camera

Advantages: Everthing you would expect multiplied by 10.
Disadvantages: Low light, lowers the picture quality. But nightshot is great.

...I have always enjoyed videoing my friends and family. Like many people, when I do venture abroad I am filming constently. I used to use an old Sony 8mm video camera and recently upgraded to the PC100E. This DV Camera is unreal. The steadyshot feature is unshakable. The 0 LUX nightshot mode really means 0 LUX. Due to the megapixel CCD, the digital zoom (after 10x) is very good when compared to a lower spec DV camera. I also use this camera for photography, the sony memory sticks are easy to come by and the digital photo quality it brilliant. I don't use my 35mm still camera anymore. Also another feature which isn't mentioned much, is the ability to take analogue inputs to the camera!! You can convert your analogue movies into digital. Combined with a pinnacle studio editor, I am now able to produce broadcast quality films about anything...

Sony Official PS3 SIXAXIS Wireless Controller

Advantages: Great Design
Disadvantages: No Dual Shock

...This is a great controller jus like the classic ps1/ps2 the design stayed the same. This is the perfect controller i can not say anything about the slick design. As you may know this controller is wireless so you may use it from newere in the room so no messy wires hanging around. And the batttery lasts very long i dont have to charge it very often but i dont play hours every day either. Only bad this about this controller is that unlike the ps1/ps2 controllers this does not have dual shock so no rumble :(.This is because sony could not get rights for the technology. Sony what happened? Well good news this controller is being released again next year as Dual Shock 3 is comming out. So if you can wait i strongly urge you wait for it to come out as it is a great feature. The feeling for the game is lost without dual shock. Need...

Advantages: fully-functional media center & Blu-Ray player, and LINUX!!!
Disadvantages: expensive / limited number of available games

Have Sony rolled in the next gen with a bang??

Advantages: Excellent multimedia package ahead of its time

..., interesting to say the least. I am not going to sit here and crunch numbers because the most part they do not mean anything. The most obvious platform to compare to is the 360, but if I was to say to you that technically on paper the 360 seems to have the edge, you will all be cursing me right now telling me I am talking through my bottom. However I am not going to chastise or be biased to either console since I believe that they both have their fair share of ups and downs. Like everything that Sony release there has to be some new technology which in reality is no different to what you get in most high end PC's or games consoles. ...about this section is that it may be impressive now but soon it won't be as much, as computers are advancing rapidly now e.g. dual core, quad core games will be maybe 5 times better than the ps3 will be able to show. So if you are one of those people who wants to get the most they can from games then go with PC instead as it is easy to upgrade and games will continue to improve. The GPU was developed by NVIDIA and Sony, This graphics card is similar to NVIDIA 7800. This tells me that already the pc has a better graphics card than the PS3 as NVIDIA has released 8800 ULTRA and soon will be releasing 9 series. Just makes you wonder how long it will be before Sony decides to make you buy a PS4. My bet is within 3-4 years.
