Playstation 3: Next-Gen capable?

Advantages: Eye-Candy. Visuals and Sound are stunning. Ease of option navigation. Downloadable classics.
Disadvantages: A bit pricy. Kinda heavy to carry about.

...I try not to sound like a fanboy when talking to my peers about Sony's new, Next Generation Console. But sometimes i find it hard not to. While it has been out for almost two years now, it still manages to make me smile at its robust capabilities. The Playstation 3, while not the cheapest of the newer game consoles, certainly provides some quality for its price: For starters, in my opinion, it is very sleek and stylish looking when viewed from afar or up close. Two buttons on the front give you the basic functions of ejecting the disc and turning it on and off. No tray required for this bad boy, as it uses rollers to accept the disc inside. Playstation Eye

Advantages: Good Mic, Good Camera
Disadvantages: Lack of compatible games and features.

...This is a good little addition to the playstation 3 acessories collection. This camera/microphone is probably the best one out for the playstation at the moment. The camera boasts great features such as voice recognition microphone which in my personal opinion is spot on! it filters out uneccesary noises (dog, hoover,fridgefreezer) and is great because there is no echo in game. The main disadvantage of the voice recognition is the fact that you can only use it when you are in a quiet environment with nobody there as it will pick up on any conversation in and out of the room. As for the camera its zoom and auto focus make it very easy to use however the zoom is manual and only has two settings either really close or really far away. (depending on room size and position) The camera is fully interactive with compatible playstion eye games...

...I owned a Playstation when they were new, I didn't buy mine right away though. Instead I was sensible and waited for a 1st then 2nd price drop when I bought mine in 1996. New games were still being released pretty much every week so you had a huge choice. I've had my current Playstation for over 8 years now having bought it off Ebay with a few games, a memory card and an extra controller for under £30. It was slightly damaged (the aerial input wire is a bit loose) but it works fine with a bit of tape to keep it in place. Games are easy to come by and just keep getting cheaper & cheaper. Extras memory cards & controllers are also still cheap and will work if you ever decide to upgrade to a PS2. The Sony Playstation

Advantages: Cheap games.

...When I was looking for a console, as they were the craze at the time, I made the big mistake of choosing the N64. I came to realise in time that the playstation was a lot better. The Playstation just has loads of games and the games are a lot cheaper than N64 games (although Nintendo havn't realised that no one wants there consoles anymore and are still charging £50 for some games). Yes, O.k, the Playstation has to load but it's worth the 2 minute wait for better games. Another thing I've noticed with owning an N64 is that light guns are not compatible with the N64 where as with the Playstation you can use a light gun on games such as Die Hard Trilogy or even Point Blank. The Playstation is an easy to use console with extra features like being able to play CD's on it. You can also buy any Playstation magazines and get free demos...

...-BOx and PS2. Looking at it aswell, you will soon notice its not really that much bigger than a CD case. I cant really mention the manufacturer support because I have never had a problem. But a friend had a problem with his, phoned them up and they gave him an address to send it to. He had a new one sent back within 3 weeks which I think is fairly good! And yes, consoles are getting better all the time, but this is a MUST have! It looks lovely, sounds lovely, plays lovely. So why not have it in the back room....

...Sony Playstation a must for the video gamers who want to play good games on not too costly consoles. I have already own it and i have an idea of what it is all about. I owned a AMD K6-2 450 mhz PC before i buy the playstation but i still prefer it. The reason is not only one. The most big reason which forced me to buy the playstation is that when playing games on a PC you cannot just enter the cd and play it. Few games are there which can be run directly from the cd but mostly are the demos and the games of no significance. You have to install games on your hardisk and this sometimes takes so much time that you are start to irritate and think that your PC is a piece of junk! Further more you have to check this that the game you are buying is compaitable to run on your PC and if you don't do this you have to face problems like the game...
