...I am sure you can tell from the name of this product, Sony PlayStation2 Slimline, that this product is alot smaller in size and shape to its bidder brother, The Sony Playstation2. This new design was released in September 2004 and overall, it is much prefered to its previous because of its weight, size, sound and mobility. In my opinion, the slimline model is much more attractive than the origonal one because it is so much smaller. The thickness of this product has been reduced to under 3cm which is almost one third the thickness of the older version. As a result, the PlayStation2 Slimline looks much more compact and in my view, the smaller the better. Furthermore, not only has the size of the product been reduced, but also te weight too, which again, adds to the appeal of the product. Overall the slimline version has lost half...

Playstation Eye

Advantages: Good Mic, Good Camera
Disadvantages: Lack of compatible games and features.

...This is a good little addition to the playstation 3 acessories collection. This camera/microphone is probably the best one out for the playstation at the moment. The camera boasts great features such as voice recognition microphone which in my personal opinion is spot on! it filters out uneccesary noises (dog, hoover,fridgefreezer) and is great because there is no echo in game. The main disadvantage of the voice recognition is the fact that you can only use it when you are in a quiet environment with nobody there as it will pick up on any conversation in and out of the room. As for the camera its zoom and auto focus make it very easy to use however the zoom is manual and only has two settings either really close or really far away. (depending on room size and position) The camera is fully interactive with compatible playstion eye games...

...I owned a Playstation when they were new, I didn't buy mine right away though. Instead I was sensible and waited for a 1st then 2nd price drop when I bought mine in 1996. New games were still being released pretty much every week so you had a huge choice. I've had my current Playstation for over 8 years now having bought it off Ebay with a few games, a memory card and an extra controller for under £30. It was slightly damaged (the aerial input wire is a bit loose) but it works fine with a bit of tape to keep it in place. Games are easy to come by and just keep getting cheaper & cheaper. Extras memory cards & controllers are also still cheap and will work if you ever decide to upgrade to a PS2. ...When I was looking for a console, as they were the craze at the time, I made the big mistake of choosing the N64. I came to realise in time that the playstation was a lot better. The Playstation just has loads of games and the games are a lot cheaper than N64 games (although Nintendo havn't realised that no one wants there consoles anymore and are still charging £50 for some games). Yes, O.k, the Playstation has to load but it's worth the 2 minute wait for better games. Another thing I've noticed with owning an N64 is that light guns are not compatible with the N64 where as with the Playstation you can use a light gun on games such as Die Hard Trilogy or even Point Blank. Also the game disks dont because as scratched as they used to. Finally the analog control ad feels much lighter than the original control pad. Also the console comes internet ready meaning that all you have to do is wire the console up to your internet connection and you can play online. With the original console you had to buy an Internet adaptor costing £20 to do so. Bad Features The tray, where you put the games in, is a flip lid. The lid is a little flimsy but should not break if your not too heavy handed with it. The tray on the original playstation 2 is much better because you press a button and the tray comes out. ...-BOx and PS2. Looking at it aswell, you will soon notice its not really that much bigger than a CD case. I cant really mention the manufacturer support because I have never had a problem. But a friend had a problem with his, phoned them up and they gave him an address to send it to. He had a new one sent back within 3 weeks which I think is fairly good! And yes, consoles are getting better all the time, but this is a MUST have! It looks lovely, sounds lovely, plays lovely. So why not have it in the back room....

...After recently acquiring a Sony Playstation I have spent many happy hours wasting the day away playing games. It really is the best games console I have played in a long while and with the ever closer release of the playstation 2 the prices are rapidly dropping making it an affordable computer in todays highly expensive electrical society. The range of games available is extensive with a wide, variable choice available for all standards and ages!!! Action, adventure and fantasy games are all available and can be brought in a wide variety of places for what are quite reasonable prices, although new releases can set you back a fair bit of money.
