...I have heard a lot about Play Station 2 also being a DVD Player. People have however told me that this will only play Sony DVD's and will not be a normaL DVD Player. I keep reading publication on the subject but I an not getting any clearer information. Originally when the publicity info was launched is said it was also a DVD now I am unsure. ...i got a play station as a present of my girlfriend two years back it is now classed as an old console now that dreamcast is out and the upcomming play station 2 but the play station is still the best(well untill psx2) there is just some thing about the games for it the main ones that come to mind are gran turismo 1 and 2 it doesnt have the option of playing other people in different areas via modem like the dreamcast but it is still a far better console when i first got it i though it was going to be one of them ones that get hyped up to hell and end up out dated in about two months but still hasnt been bettered the games that came out at the begining didnt use the entire memory but the newer games like dino crisis use the whole amount i recomend the play station... ...If you are looking forward to the release of the Playstation2 on October 26 then you might not want to read on. The US release is still scheduled for October 26 but the European release is expected to be put back until March 2001. A good friend who works for Sony Europe has told me that Sony cannot deliver the number of units needed for a simultaneous release in the United States and Europe, as the US is a larger market all current units and all those made up to October will be only for the US. ...The Sony Playstation was revolutionary ion its time and gave me a glimpse of what I dreamed about when I was messing around with a Sinclair ZX-81. The graphics, sound, and game play are simply awesome and games like Colin McRae Rally are so realistic that you could almost be there. I admit to spending more time on it than my son when it first arrived. Now the Playstation 2 in imminent and this will be a highly attractive proposition with Sony making the unusual step of allowing PS 1 games to be played on PS2. Sony are still the market leaders until the likes of Nintendo and Sega con come up with the huge software backup.... Read review

...If you want a solution for a rainy day other than board games buy a Play Station . They cost around £70 a lot cheaper than when they first came out!There are no end of games to play and you can get older games cheaper than newer ones. When you are transfering the disks from the Play Station to their cases becareful not to touch the back of them or scratch it as it could totaly ruin the disk. Also do not remove the memory card when it is saving a game as you could delete all the games saved on that card . You must turn off the Play Station when you turn your T.V off or you will find you have a rubbish picture on your T.V.... Read review

...I am a profound hater of the Sony Playstation, why? Firstly internet play is a none-starter. The internet is growing majorly and without adding external components (if you can at all) there is no way of playing a playstation game on the internet. Secondly, the graphics are poor. When yo compare them to the PC or Dreamcast it is clear to see that they are way behind the times. Thirdly, the sound is poor. I do not rate the sound quality of the Playstation at all. Personally, I do not know why the machine has become so popular. Definately one to avoid here. PC's although they cost more, they are much better for gaming.... Read review

...The Sony Playstation is an excellent console. It has great graphics and sound effects (depending on which particular game you are playing). It now great value for money at a measly £80 with dual shock compared to £300 when it was first launched. But the best bit is the games available such as Gran Turismo 1 and 2, Tekken3, Tony Hawk Skate boarding and more recently Colin Mcrae Rally 2, all of which are amazing. I can't wait for Playstaion2 with it's DVD player and uprated processing power, let's hope the games improve as well, if possible!... Read review

...The sony playstation i feel is ok but there are one or two problems. when playing theme hospital it is very hard to use cos the controle pad obviously is not a mouse and so does not mve as fast as on a Computer. the game itself is GOOD! and o would recommend ANYone to try it but can get very annoying when you do not win! the product is very GOod value for money i feel and will keep u busy for a long time. it is not real life though! and is a little anoying when the same diagnosis comes up. if i was gonna give it a mark i would say 6/10....
