...I have used this Sony Projector for over 3 years. It is very light, compact and easy to use. It comes in a canvas carry case with shoulder strap. The projector itself folds up in to a compact carry case. The front cover folds over with a handle and locks so it can be carried like a mini briefcase. The control functions are on top of the projector. There is a row of buttons on the front, Power,Input,APA, and volume control. On the right are buttons for reset,menu,arrow keys and enter. There are 4 light signals,lamp,fan,power saving,standby. The port at the back has audio,mouse,video,svideo and scart to laptop connection. THe SONY LCD Projector made in Japan is very reliable. THis one is probably 5 years old. Replacement lamps for it are now very expensive. When you switch it on it is ready to use in about 3 minutes. The picture...

Advantages: Huge. Soothing. Good value.
Disadvantages: Takes forever to heat up.

...A lava lamp is, in principle, very simple. It consists of a lamp, which heats up a glass bulb filled with a waxy solid and a liquid. These cannot mix together and must have very similar densities. As the solid heats up, its density is lowered, so it rises. This cools it down and it then falls to the bottom of the lamp, creating a strangely soothing effect. Sony VPL-CS1 A Projector Well Ahead Of It's Time

Advantages: 1280 x 1024 Maximum Resolution
Disadvantages: Not designed for ceiling mounting.

The picture quality is excellent with this projector, owing mainly to its 1280 x 1024 resolution. There is a good range of inputs on this projector allowing you to connect anything from a PC to a dvd player to it. The only downside to the inputs is that it has only got a single RCA for video input and relies upon a 3.5mm (headphone type) audio jack. Which can be a pain at times as you cant just use a triple RCA lead. This projector is not designed to be ceiling mounted. It can only be desk mounted which makes setup time much quicker but if your looking for a permanent installation that's out of the way, this isn't for you. Advantages: Great functions, east to use, looks and feels good and produces great images.
Disadvantages: The kit lens isnt the best and no live view may bother some.
