PS2 is still one of the greatest consoles!

...fine, nothing wrong with it as far as i can hear. Controller - Comfortable, not as good as an XBOX360 controller but then, what is? Games - Just about every genre of game is on the PS2, there are masses of games to be played and they are all fairly cheap nowadays. Also plays some of the greatest games of all time like Final Fantasy, Grand theft auto and Need for Speed. Extras - It uses memory cards so you can use your save game on other people playstation - Until recently I found out that the removable plastic section at the back is for a harddrive (this is not in the slimline version) - It can be connected to the internet (for multiplater etc) - It can use a range of accesories, eyetoy (camera), steering wheels, guns, microphones, skateboards and even chainsaws. Even though it is 'out of date' it still have hours of play value....

Sony Playstation 2 - What More Can You Ask For? :P

Advantages: Sleek; lots of good games; DVD movie playable - good value for money :-)
Disadvantages: Still waiting for hard drive peripheral; Xbox's graphic capabilites are superior; only two controller ports, compared to the higher rated Xbox. Plus the games are quite costly...

...From my own playing experience, I would say that the Sony Playstation 2 is a amazing, high quality little games consule with extraordinary gaming power capible of being achieved. Many people tend to dissagree, but I think that the Sony Playstation 2 is the best games console going and other consoles such as the XBOX and Gamecube don't even compare to the quality of this tiny black/silver box of fun! hehe! The Specs of the console are as follows : CPU 128-bit 'Emotion Engine' Clock speed 294 MHz RAM 32 Mb DRAM 4 Mb Graphics 147 MHz DVD/CD drive 4x/24x. How about the size?: The Sony Playstation 2 has a decent size, a lil bit bigger than the original Sony Playstation. PS/2 Slimline a real tonic from Sony

Advantages: small and sexy
Disadvantages: is it a fragile kitten

...I should start by saying that I am not part of the PlayStation generation, I'm 44 and my first introduction to gaming outside of arcades was awarded to me as the result of an on line competition when I won a good old PSOne (yes, people do win those draws), that was about 7 or 8 years ago I guess. About 5 years ago I upgraded to the original PS/2 and have enjoyed many late nights / early mornings gaming on that till about 8 months ago when it gave up the ghost. With the launch of PS/3 'imminent' I thought I could wait for that - but Oh No it gets delayed and delayed again and my patience runs out. So a couple of weeks ago I find myself on Amazon making an impulse buy of the new slimline PS/2.
