...The Sony PSP is a gaming device made for on the go gamers. There is a very wide range of games you can play on the PSP, and these mainly consist of previous PlayStation 2 games such as Grand Theft Auto Vice City and other classic games. The PSP is set out like a PlayStation controller but with a 4.3 inch screen in the middle. The console itself is a great size and does not weight very much. The screen also is very good - it delivers a clear picture and depending on the game, not bad graphics. The games are stored on a UMD disk which stands for Universal Media Disks which consist of 1.8GB. As well as buying games on the UMD disks, you can also buy popular films such as Spiderman and watch them on the go. ...I love my PSP, but I'm still playing games I bought 2 or 3 years ago for my original PSP-1000. For a new user, especially, the lack of new games is enough to make anyone worry about investing in one. The 4.3-inch LCD wide screen remains, and it's been tweaked. Sony says the new screen now delivers better color reproduction, reduced glare, and reduced "ghosting" on high-motion scenes. When compared with the 2000, the PSP 3000 does, indeed, deliver better color vibrancy (you can toggle between "wide" and "standard" color in the options to see the difference). As for glare reduction: we didn't find there to be a huge difference. Don't expect to play in direct sunlight, for instance. But you might have better luck with fewer distractions from indoor light sources....

Advantages: Good features, music, videos, internet access, good availibility of games
Disadvantages: Not as advanced as newer consoles/gadgets

...The Sony PSP was revolutionary when it was first released, it holds music, videos, images and allows internet access whereever a valid internet connection is available. The screen is a good size for handheld games console (4.3 inches) and has a processor speed of 333 MHz.. It was released in 2005 and therefore has dramatically decreased in price since then (consoles always depreciate in value due to the improvements and advancements in technology) and can now be bought for as cheap as £35. Sony PSP, Absolutely Incredible, So Amazing!

Advantages: Fabulous 16.77 million colour screen, MP3 and MP4 player, Soon to come accessories, 802.11b/g Wireless LAN, much much more.
Disadvantages: Memory Stick Duos aren't the cheapest memory medium around, but this is easily overcome with, eBay!

...**EDIT** Since my production of this review, there has been a fabulous revalation, (spelling?), in the PSP world, and that is a Sony Made internet browser and many more in the software update, 2.0. This further extends this incredible machines ability to be a true multimedia machine to include the whole World Wide Web. I have tried and tested V2.0 and its great, you can also set images as wall papers, and the browser is fab. Enjoy my review **END OF EDIT** First of all, I would like to say that this product is not available in the UK until about September or October as Sony do not have enough parts to launch yet, but the UK launch is long awaited for the whole world, as once it is released in the UK, it will be worldwide, and many new software upgrades, (rumoured IE explorer), and physical accessories are expected by owners...

Sony PSP - Technology will never stop improving

I got it off a gadget shop, if you have been to any of the Canary Islands then you will know that there are people trying to drag you in to there shops 'come in my friend I do you goods deal' little do you know that you are probably going to get a good deal but will break the day you get home. But there was this shop and the shopkeeper was very good in explaining to me how tourists normally get ripped off and he was very good in explaining how people get so good deals in Tenerife and I will tell you because they are not European. ...cards are very expensive. I advise you to purchase the SANDISK make cards, as they offer exactly the same functionality as sony ones, but are cheaper. They just don't have the sony brand name. Overall, I give the PSP 10 out of 10. It's truly brilliant and should set off a revolutionin portable entertainment systems....

Advantages: Very "wow" at the minute, has to be held in the hand to believe!
Disadvantages: Battery life, finger marks on the screen

...can transfer your PC music library onto the card right away, the PSP even has the ability to display album covers, if the file is available. Movies............hmmmm a bit more difficult, you will need to obtain an Mpeg4 convertor, and no native DIVX files will not work on the PSP, much to my dislike (I have an Ipaq, and quite happily watch movies via DIVX). You can either obtain this convertor online (free!) or buy a pack that Sony do.......I have yet to watch a movie on the PSP as yet (memory stick 1gb not obtained as yet!). Battery life............I have heard issues about this, but I have found the unit to be fair. Hammered, running movies, games, music, you would get 3hrs on a full charge, which is fair for this kind of unit. Overall not a bad piece of kit, finger marks on the screen can be annoying, and it does look prone to...

...Introduction It is hard to write an introduction that justifies the amazing piece of entertainment equipment that the PSP is. So I'll just skip this bit. PSP v Creative Zen Portable Media Centre The PSP wins in terms of quality, but the Zen wins in terms of movies available. However, as time goes on the Entertainment industry will bring out more and more PSP compatible UMD disks, and, if they don't a worthy investment is a 512MB (or 1/2GB) memory stick duo (or pro duo), which can hold most movies comfortably. These retail at around £40. However there is the issue of the battery life. Although I do not own a Zen PMC I expect its battery life to be high (i.e. 8hrs) but the PSP's is surprisingly poor at 4½ hrs, although this is plenty to watch a movie or even 2, you would be lucky to get a reasonable amount of gaming in as well. ...a memory stick with a lot more memory. I've had my PSP for 10 months now and am still not bored with it. It's amazing how there are no scratches on it at all. ...I can remember the day that the PSP came out in the UK and my older brother being one of the first 500 to get one and register. 8 months after that I bought mine and still use it just as much if not more. The PSP is an advanced piece of technology combining: Handheld Gaming, an MP3 player, and MP4 player, A Digital Camera (Not Included) and an online browser all that is needed is a phone which there have been rumors of. The PSP is a great gaming device whilst the list of games many will enjoy are small but then the target age group for the PSP is 16 - 30 year olds as not many parents would trust a 10 year old with such a piece of expensive kit. The games are given a lot of graphical power destroying the DS's and whilst it has less graphical power than the sony Playstation 2 the smaller screen makes up for that. The sound quality...
