Sony PSP and PSP lite / slim info and review
Advantages: Great Graphics, Good Battery Life, Excellent Value
Disadvantages: Easy to scratch / Damage some minor faults
...is still possible for you to transfer PS1 games to your PSP through using ISO files and having a "Custome firmware" installed on your PSP.
And although it is illegal for you to do this, many people have managed to add custom firmwear to their PSP's to allow them to Mod games and use ISO files downloaded from the internet.
PSP Lite / Slim FEATURES
The PSP slim can do everything that the original PSP could do and more. The PSP slim is a great deal lighter and more compact than the original PSP although size was hardly a problem with the original.
Whereas the Original PSP used a Spring loaded UMD slot the PSP Slim uses a sort of slide down case. This is possibly because the spring mechanism of the original PSP was slightly fragile and actually had the tendancy to launch your games if you were not careful.
The best feature...

Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) Slim & Lite
Advantages: compact, fast, great quality, and tv out! great value
Disadvantages: same UMD system as last version
...I bought my PSP slim and light last year after previously owning the fatter and heavier PSP, I was very impressed with the new look and feel of the PSP slim.
It has been slimmed down very noticeably, It looks fantastic, if i had any quarrels, it would be that the high gloss finish of the black console i owned was very susceptible to marks and needed cleaning after use if you dont want it getting filthy.
The game interface is similar to all other Playstation console, it has the same 'triangle, square, circle and cross' controls with an analogue d pad as well as a joy stick which is useful when web browsing and going through menus as well as games. along the bottom is also a home, pause and select button and volume controls.
The back has the same UMD loading system as the last model, like a cassette player.. which is a bit odd for such...

PSP Slim
Advantages: Light, thinner and faster than the old PSP, with some nifty features.
Disadvantages: No infrared, battery life lower than usual PSP's.
...The PSP Slim is a smaller and slimmer version of the original, hence the name. Now with a third less weight, at 189g and about four-fifths the thickness (19mm). It costs around the same as the old one, £130.
The new weight is immediately noticeable as soon as you hold the PSP in your hand. It's so light that you might think that it's missing something. Sony was able to slim down the battery size while maintaining the 5hr standard PSP time.
The speakers have gone on the front, the wifi switch is now on the top to stop turning WLAN off and the UMD drive is spring loaded.
The display remains the same, but the slim includes a video output that will let the PSP connect to a TV.
Sony has doubled the built-in memory RAM from 32MB to 64MB, and the new PSP will also be able to speed up game load times with extra memory. The PSP slim...

PSP Slim&Lite : Sadly Disapointing.
Advantages: 33% Lighter, 19% Slimmer and Video-out
Disadvantages: Not too different to the original PSP
...I must say I wasn't too impressed when I first opened my new PSP box. When I held it next to my old PSP, I was sadly disappointed. There was hardly any difference. I'm sorry Sony, but you've really let you're self down here.
The Good
Ok. The Good. Well obviously, it has all of the functions of the PSP original, which is excellent. It also has a T.V port so you can now enhance your playing and viewing pleasure. You can watch your UMD films on your television. The new PSP is 33% lighter, but to be honest, I cant really tell that much when im playing, so its not a huge difference to the original PSP. I would say that I can notice the slim & lites slimness, but not by much. the only real improvement here I would say is that it comes with the TV video-out port.
The Bad
I'm sorry to say that there aren't too many changes to...

The PSP Slim
Advantages: Portable eassy to carry,
Disadvantages: Read Review
...Let me clear this up...
The PSP Slim does not have a touch screen.
it is essentially the old PSP with a few a few minor changes. These are the changes:
It can store game data in the cache so the PSP doesn't consistently have to access the UMD, which speeds up load times.
The UMD drive is no longer the springloaded type, and is now like a drawer.
The memory stick panel is now a pull-out area.
The Slim has video out, and and transmit video to a TV. Games appear in a letterbox format.
The Slim has a modified earphone jack, to enable video out.
USB charging is now possible. It takes about two hours, 20 minutes to charge with AC and five with USB
The first units are sold with firmware 3.60.
It does not have a built-in camera, or a printer, or an extra analog stick, or FlashDrive compatibility or xray or any other crap that you may...

Sony PSP
Advantages: Great portable media player. Ideal for Games & Movies
Disadvantages: Not so good as an MP3 player as a little bulky.
...This is an ideal portable console/MP3 Player and MP4 Player for all. Since having the PSP I no longer find myself bored whilst on the train to work. I generally use it for gaming and watching movies. The gameplay/graphics are awesome for such a small device. The added bonus of the PSP is that you can switch it off and when you switch it back on again it allows you to play where you left off even if this is half way through a football match.
As for movie capability, this is straight forward. As long as you have a large enough memory card, you can load MP4 files and watch movies on the go with the PSP.
I don't really use the PSP as an MP3 player as it's a little too bulky for the pocket. I don't think this is the main benefit of the PSP but the option's there.
I would recommend this to anyone who's travelling a lot and it...

The PSP Slim, an amazing console
Advantages: compact, MP3 & MP4 playback, huge variety of games, lightweight
Disadvantages: sound could be a little louder - can be hard to hear if used in crowded environment
...you to be able to download and play several retro emulators on the PSP such as the Sega Megadrive, GameBoy and Snes to name a few.
The PSP Slim is available in a variety of colours including Piano Black, Lavender, silver and blue. Skins (decorative covers) can also be added onto the PSP, and these are usually available for a cheap price on E-Bay. These not only look decorative but can protect the PSP from scratches.
Graphics are very good for such a small device, and sound capabilities are also of high quality. There is a headphone socket that will fit most adapter types if required.
The PSP Slim can be powered off either its AC adapter, or from its battery. It has a decent battery life of around four hours game play, and does not take too long to recharge again afterwards.
All in all, a fabulous hand held, with even more...

Sony PSP has been on a diet
Advantages: Really Slim, Great Web Browser, Plays MP3
Disadvantages: None that I can think of
...Hi the review you will be reading is for the Sony Play Station Portable (PSP).
I got this about a year ago and I play it all most all the time when I'm out and about anyway on with the review.
Features
The PSP has many great features for example the internet option which you need an access point or hot spot for.
Some of the other features include the downloaded games, video, music and pictures options which you can download from the official PSP website from your PSP or use your computer to gain access to the full PSP website which has more downloads. The full PSP website includes the original Play Station 1 games like crash bandicoot these cost money to download but you can get the trailers and demos for free.
Memory
With the PSP you have the option to insert a memory stick duo into it which you can add movies pictures to...

Great updated version of bulkier psp
Advantages: easy to use, range of features, great for kids and adults
Disadvantages: need to buy additional memory card
...I bought this for my son's christmas, he had previously had the older type psp but broke it from dropping it so many times, so opted for the extra insurance when i bought it. I purchased it from Game as a package, i got two movies and 3 games with it for £130 which was a good deal and the extra insurance cost £22 or therabouts which covers it for two years for accidental damage, which is a must if you are buying it for a younger child as it can be easily broken and expensive to repair.
The console itself definetely seems improved, it is lighter and not as bulky as the older type, screen is a good size and the features on it are good too, for example it has wifi capability, you can transfer music and videos to it from your pc, and you can also connect it to your tv and play it on the bigger screen. It has a memory card slot which...

The Lite-and-"Bright" PSP3000
Advantages: Better screen, built-in mic and the same great PSP experience
Disadvantages: Not much of an upgrade for existing (Slim&Lite) owners
...The PSP3000 is the successor to the not-so-long-ago released PSP Slim&Lite.
And while everyone was not thrilled at the changes (there is not really much compared to the previous edition), as things stand now, this is the best version of the PSP yet.
There?s a few new features:
# The screen is a lot more vivid and gets shows the colors better (my roommate has the old one and I have the PSP3000 - you can plainly see the differences in color rendering)
# The screen is based on a newer technology that has faster refresh rates and eliminates ghosting (which was a minor nuisance on the Slim&Lite)
# There?s a built-in mic that allows you to chat on skype (also built-in!) and other messenger application without the need for an external microphone. The other advantage is that you don't need a proprietary PSP-headset anymore; just about any...
