Sony PSP - The most diverse handheld console ever

Advantages: Amazing graphics and sound, lots of cool features and as the name describes it; portable.
Disadvantages: Dissapointing range of hi-profile games. Screen quite scratch-prone without a protective case

It has wireless multi-player providing the other PSP has the same game, and some games are turn-based, so (providing you trust who you're playing with) you simply take turns on the games. Graphically, the PSP, for a console of it's size, is brilliant. If you've ever played a Playstation 1, think of the graphics of the most visually pleasing game you ever played on it, better it slightly, and shrink it down to handheld. It's not as sharp as the Playstation 2, but to expect that from a handheld console would be crazy. Advantages: Clear screen, lots of features, easy to use and a large range of games and movies.
Disadvantages: Can't be used with strong light and quite easy to damage/scratch

There is a very wide range of games you can play on the PSP, and these mainly consist of previous PlayStation 2 games such as Grand Theft Auto Vice City and other classic games. Advantages: Great portable media player. Ideal for Games & Movies
Disadvantages: Not so good as an MP3 player as a little bulky.

...This is an ideal portable console/MP3 Player and MP4 Player for all. Since having the PSP I no longer find myself bored whilst on the train to work. I generally use it for gaming and watching movies. The gameplay/graphics are awesome for such a small device. The added bonus of the PSP is that you can switch it off and when you switch it back on again it allows you to play where you left off even if this is half way through a football match. As for movie capability, this is straight forward. As long as you have a large enough memory card, you can load MP4 files and watch movies on the go with the PSP. I don't really use the PSP as an MP3 player as it's a little too bulky for the pocket. I don't think this is the main benefit of the PSP but the option's there. ...I love my PSP, but I'm still playing games I bought 2 or 3 years ago for my original PSP-1000. For a new user, especially, the lack of new games is enough to make anyone worry about investing in one. The 4.3-inch LCD wide screen remains, and it's been tweaked. Sony says the new screen now delivers better color reproduction, reduced glare, and reduced "ghosting" on high-motion scenes. When compared with the 2000, the PSP 3000 does, indeed, deliver better color vibrancy (you can toggle between "wide" and "standard" color in the options to see the difference). As for glare reduction: we didn't find there to be a huge difference. Don't expect to play in direct sunlight, for instance. But you might have better luck with fewer distractions from indoor light sources....

Advantages: Good features, music, videos, internet access, good availibility of games
Disadvantages: Not as advanced as newer consoles/gadgets

The screen is a good size for handheld games console (4.3 inches) and has a processor speed of 333 MHz.. For me the PSP is, and always will be, primarily a games console. I can see myself watching the odd DVD which is why I sought out a large memory stick. Compared to Microsoft in particular SONY do seem to be a little greedy on the launch point of their systems. £180 for the PSP with NO GAMES does seem a little steep. If you just bear in mind that Microsoft's XBOX 360 base system is to launch at a few pennies under £210 you can put this into perspective. Sony PSP, Absolutely Incredible, So Amazing!

Advantages: Fabulous 16.77 million colour screen, MP3 and MP4 player, Soon to come accessories, 802.11b/g Wireless LAN, much much more.
Disadvantages: Memory Stick Duos aren't the cheapest memory medium around, but this is easily overcome with, eBay!

But, then there is the argument, that Sony have stuck to their same old, Square, Circle, Triangle and X console, and it is just another branch of their already huge and still growing Playstation family. So one could say that the PSP is not original, and that it is yet another version of the original Playstation. And with the PS3 announced, it would seem as another thing into the past for Sony. But, in my opinion, the PSP is completely original; a new era of portable gaming is upon us. Advantages: Really good graphics, Blue Ray player built in, wireless internet for free
Disadvantages: High price, loud fan when playing games

...Sony's next generation console was well worth the wait from the Playstation 2. I have owned a PS3 for just over a year now and I have so far had no problems with it and to see the quality of the graphics of any game was incredible, and it was such a step up from the PS2. Although Sony was late in releasing the PS3, it was worth the wait in the end, although I did consider getting an Xbox 360 instead. The Xbox 360 came out much earlier and allowed microsoft the oppurtunity to get more Xbox 360's out there before the PS3 was even out. However there have been many reported problems with the Xbox 360, such as the console freezing, so I thought I best play it safe and instead get the PS3 when I had some money. The PS3 also offers more benefits over the Xbox 360, like free online play and less reported faults with the console in general...

The PSP Slim, an amazing console

Advantages: compact, MP3 & MP4 playback, huge variety of games, lightweight
Disadvantages: sound could be a little louder - can be hard to hear if used in crowded environment

...The PSP Slim is an amazing hand held console, without a doubt ,the best hand held on the market at the moment. It has many features including MP3 & MP4 playback, Internet capabilities, USB port, camera software (although the camera add on is not included with the psp), abilty to save, and many other functions. The PSP has a huge variety of games available, something to cater for all tastes; some of the popular titles include Tomb Raider Anniversary, The Sims Castaway, Silent Hill Origins and The Simpsons. My advice is to not buy a PSP from a store, but to buy one online from E-Bay in order to obtain a PSP that has been uploaded with custom firmware.
