Sony BDP-S350 don't waste your money on cheeper alternatives.

...I bought this Blu Ray player as I wanted to watch DVD's in the same glorious HD as SKY HD, but also because I wanted an upscaling DVD player for non-HD DVD's. I had previously tried a Philips upscaling player, but was very disappointed with the performance, which was barely better than my standard, non-HDMI DVD player, so took it back for a refund. The Sony BDP-S350 however is a totally different animal. Firstly, It looks good, with it's metallic blue front, which automatically flips open and closed when a disc is inserted or ejected. Boot-up time on some Blu Ray players has been an issue, but on the Sony it is as quick as any standard player. Connections are via an HDMI cable, there is also a optical output for excellent Dolby 5.1, via the necessary hardware. Blu Ray picture quality is tremendous, possibly slightly better than SKY...

  Sony KDL32S2010 - Still a Sony Fan

Advantages: Good Picture and Excellent Sound. Easy to set up with lots of features
Disadvantages: Occasional picture freeze (see review) when TV tends to re-set itself (probably due to broadcast conditions though)

...To be honest I am basically a Sony sound system fanatic simply because I am a person to whom music means a lot, but it is also true I have an inherent weakness for the sony brand name itself. Although I am not a professional photographer but photography does interest me a lot and on top of that there are friends who are professionals in this field. I came across Sony Cybershot DSC-S950 through one of my friends, what attracted me was its silvery looks (not that it is available in silver only, pink and black variations are also available) and since it was there with him I borrowed it in order to try it out for a while. The slick looks impressed me a lot. Over all the quality seemed to me to be quite okay. I got excellent results shooting out doors with rapid shutter speed in IS ISO100 mode, in fact the 4x zoom did not hinder the picture...

The Sony VAIO NR21S/S

Advantages: fast, good graphics, big and bright, lots of slots.
Disadvantages: Heavy, can overload and freeze, quirky inbuilt mouse.

Advantages: User Friendly
Disadvantages: Small internal memory

...about it. It was probably faulty batteries, as I have not had any similar problems since, or many problems at all really. As well as taking photos it can also shoot videos. I have not taken many, but the ones that I have are of a reasonable quality. These can be viewed on the 1.5 inch screen, which I feel is fine for photographs, but doesn't really show videos that well. There is also a slideshow setting with which to view photos, but again the screen isn't really big enough to display them. It has 32mb internal memory so I could only store about 20 photos on it, so I bought a memory card from a sony shop. It is only 128mb, but that is enough for me since I don't even use up this amount of space. It holds around 73 photographs, which to alot of people probably wouldn't be enough space, but fortunately memory cards are cheaper now...
