A Great System from Sony

Advantages: Nice Classy Design, Great Graphics, and a Good Online
Disadvantages: Small Gamelist Thus Far and Some Games Suffer From Framerate and Graphical Pop-Up Issues

...Sony's Playstation 3 is thier third go around in the Video Game business. My console reviews usually consist of reviews in the following categories Controller, Graphics, Multiplayer/Online, and Game Library. Much like the Xbox 360, i'll also be reviewing the Design of the PS3. The design of the PS3 is the more classy of the three new consoles. The PS3 is a black square system with a curved top. While the design is beautiful, this system is very big, matching the 360 in terms of size. The system also offers Blu-ray but, in my opinion, that should not be the only reason you should be spending $400-500 on this system. Advantages: slick piece of hardware, great games, so much to do!

...Having just recently won a competition to spend a night with the PS3 I figured it would be a smart idea to do a personal review of the console which everyone will be talking about (in the UK) in a few weeks to come. ...If you are looking to start your adventure with Digital Photography, then I don't think you'll get a much better camera for the size, price and ease of use. First of all, it looks great! Secondly, its size will encourage you to take your camera out often! Its an important point to consider. I have many friends who have bigger camera by Sony etc who 50% of the time will leave them at home because they wont slip into a jacket pocket of sit comfortably on your belt. The third big plus is it accepts the IBM microdrive which allows storage at 340mb and a staggering 1gb! That means you can take hundreds and hundreds of pictures without worrying about space on your card! Advantages: Great Design

...This is a great controller jus like the classic ps1/ps2 the design stayed the same. This is the perfect controller i can not say anything about the slick design. As you may know this controller is wireless so you may use it from newere in the room so no messy wires hanging around. And the batttery lasts very long i dont have to charge it very often but i dont play hours every day either. Only bad this about this controller is that unlike the ps1/ps2 controllers this does not have dual shock so no rumble :(.This is because sony could not get rights for the technology. My S-20 Experience

Advantages: Durable, reliable, high quality, many advanced features
Disadvantages: Auto colour balance not always good, difficult to lock focus on consecutive shots, uses a lot of battery power

...I bought this camera very cheaply secondhand to use for rocket aerial photography. After hitting the ground hard many times it soon became apparent that the camera was more durable than expected, with no malfunctions after a few months use. I own other digital camera's, and am impressed with the speed at which the S-20 focuses and takes pictures, although the light sensitivity of the CCD seems poor - a 4 second exposure of a moonlight scene produces a noisy dark picture when compared to an Olympus C220's 1/2 second exposure of the same scene. But the S-20 is old now so maybe an unfair comparison. I can get about 60 top-res photos on one charge of the (new) NiMh battery, and prefer to manually set the colour balance when taking photo's, as the auto balance sometimes produces shots that are discoloured. My camera has 1 pixel stuck...

Have Sony rolled in the next gen with a bang??

Advantages: Excellent multimedia package ahead of its time
Disadvantages: Backward compatability probs, and some minor glitches

...dropping out after 5 minutes of use. The 360 had a remote (well mine did because I had one of the premium launch packs) which makes navigation easier in some ways, however you can buy an official Sony remote control for a penny short of £20. The PS3 has more flexibility than the 360 since you can link up your PSP, or insert certain memory cards into the integrated card reader. Now the 360 does enable you to link an external device to playback music, but it has only been recently you could actually save the format on the hard drive. Although with the PS3 you can save photos, audio and videos of varying format straight onto the 60 GB hard drive. At the moment I am still getting to grips with what the PS3 can playback in the video stakes but already I know it's a lot more than what the 360 can do, having already transferred my PSP mp4 files...
