A Great System from Sony

Advantages: Nice Classy Design, Great Graphics, and a Good Online
Disadvantages: Small Gamelist Thus Far and Some Games Suffer From Framerate and Graphical Pop-Up Issues

My console reviews usually consist of reviews in the following categories Controller, Graphics, Multiplayer/Online, and Game Library. Much like the Xbox 360, i'll also be reviewing the Design of the PS3. The design of the PS3 is the more classy of the three new consoles. The PS3 is a black square system with a curved top. While the design is beautiful, this system is very big, matching the 360 in terms of size. The system also offers Blu-ray but, in my opinion, that should not be the only reason you should be spending $400-500 on this system. Sony Bravia 40" TV

Advantages: Large, reliable, excellent future compatibility, Bravia sync
Disadvantages: Poor cable/satellite picture, intrusive now and next bar, lack of optical sound

...This is the second HD TV I have purchased and the first Sony one. Overall this TV is a great purchase and at the time of my purchasing was excellent value for money. It cost me £699 in December 2007. It has good compatibility for current and future technologies with 2 HDMI ports. The picture quality from pure HD sources. including games consoles and Blu-ray players is immaculate as you would expect from a Sony product. The built in Freeview and Electronic Programme Guide are very easy to use and produce excellent picture quality when compared with Freeview set top boxes. Sony KDL-46W5500 - awesome LCD TV with stunning pictures

Advantages: Stunning pictures, loaded with features, useful extra connection options
Disadvantages: Expensive - but it is a Sony

...excellent. I'm using it with a Sony blu ray player and although I haven't watched any blu rays yet, the DVD upscaling is jawdroppingly good - the sports mode makes the pictures scarily real. I've been going through my entire DVD collection just trying out the pictures and it's totally different to watching them on my old CRT screen. Can't wait to see blu ray, although it's difficult to imagine how much better the pictures can get. Of course I was a bit worried about this backlight bleed issue, and I've sat there in a pitch black room, watching dark DVDs, and all sorts of different pictures and programmes. The blacks on the TV are the blackest I've ever seen on a screen and I simply cannot find any evidence of backlight bleed. I think that 99.9% of people will be delighted with the picture. ...We have had the Sony KDL-32W4000 for just over a week and the picture on ours is brilliant. This is our second Sony Bravia television, the first was a 26inch which we have been very pleased with. When we went to get our new tv we decided to go for a larger television with a 32 inch screen. I have no idea how easy it is to set up, as when we had it delivered from our local independent electrical store they unpacked and set it up for us. The picture is really clear with excellent definition and contrast from all angles, although the screen swivels on its stand as well. Handy for dusting behind it. You can of course have it hung on the wall if you wish. The remote control is easy and straight forward to use. We do not have a blu-ray player or satellite so I could not give you my opinion on its H-D performance. However using freeview...

...Sony's next generation console was well worth the wait from the Playstation 2. I have owned a PS3 for just over a year now and I have so far had no problems with it and to see the quality of the graphics of any game was incredible, and it was such a step up from the PS2. Although Sony was late in releasing the PS3, it was worth the wait in the end, although I did consider getting an Xbox 360 instead. The Xbox 360 came out much earlier and allowed microsoft the oppurtunity to get more Xbox 360's out there before the PS3 was even out. However there have been many reported problems with the Xbox 360, such as the console freezing, so I thought I best play it safe and instead get the PS3 when I had some money.
