Sony KDL-40W4500

Advantages: Class leading HD pictures, Well above average SD pictures, 100hz technology
Disadvantages: Even though this set is cheap at £850, £850 is still a lot of money.

...still produce good quality SD pictures. I considered the Sony KDL-40W4000 for quite some time. However even though this is towards the top end of Sony's range, (only the flagship X range is significantly better), it still doesn't produce a SD picture that I find good enough. On the other hand, the HD performance of the W4000 is amongst the best in it's class. In time I will be watching more and more HD, so it is also very important to me to get class leading HD pictures. Luckily Sony seem to agree. They have come up with this, the KDL-40W4500. It's basically the W4000 with some enhancements. The main ones being 100hz scanning and improved motion control. The HD picture is improved over the W4000, making it the equal of sets in the £2000-£3000 range. But more importantly for me, the SD picture is vastly improved over the W4000...

Advantages: Large, reliable, excellent future compatibility, Bravia sync
Disadvantages: Poor cable/satellite picture, intrusive now and next bar, lack of optical sound

Advantages: The picture quality is excellent

...The picture quality is absolutely superb, yet again sony has made an outstaning product. I have it connected to my ps3 and it does 1080p resolution which is crystal clear, although the sound quality could be better. But i solved this problem by simply connecting it to a surroundsound system and now its absolutely fine. If you're considering getting one then i advise you not to put it on a wall bracket because it is quite hard to connect other devices to the t.v as you cant see whats behind it.I would also advise you to buy a surround sound sstem, i personally know that bose make really high quality ones, although they are expensive they are absolutely worth it. This t.v is simply 40 inches of unblemished perfection. I would advise you to buy this t.v....

In the past I have personaly owned about 25 pairs of head phones ranging from the very cheap to the quite expensive. These small light weight head phones are miles ahead of any of the other cheap head phones i Have tried and can even hold their own amongst the mid range ones i have used personaly. Now obviously these are not the worlds greatest headphones but for the price asked there is just no comparison in my honest opinion, they weight next to nothing are comfortable in prolonged use and are so versatile they are big enough to use for bedroom deejaying and small enough to wear while walking the streets without looking like a muppet. There are plenty of connections available for use on the X3000/X3500, including HDMIx3 and Componentx3, and a USB slot. Generally, I feel the Television offers very good image quality via SD Freeview, Sky or Virgin Media. During fast action scenes such as sports, the video processing of the Bravia Engine Pro lets the set down a bit - occasionally pixelated areas appear. ...I was quite lucky to get this tv on a one day deal for £899. it was bought as a replacement to my 32" LCd TV which has now been placed in the bedroom.I must say the difference in quality between this tv and my panasonic LCD tv is amazing.The sony LCD has a much clearer picture with its "Bravia HD engine" which in my opinion made colours that you didnt even know existed pop onto your screen. you can set the mode of colours for your own liking from extra bright down to dull. it has excellent sound quality from its many speakers perfect if your watching a movie as you feel like you have surround sound. the one down side to the tv is the look of it compared to other similar tvs.it is alot duller in appearance and quite plain looking although this may be to other peoples liking!! i also had a problem receiving the built-it DV3 programmes...

...switched it on and i followed the simple instructions (in 1 million different languages) to tune it in and fine tune the brightness and contrast. My friend has a cheap LCD 42" and he litrally needs the curtains closed to get a half decent picture but this TV had perfect picture clarity in broard daylight (which is brilliant)! It has built in FreeView which has a good signal where i live (in Ipswich) and the EPG (electronic program guide) is good. I am not using Freeview but have plugged my Sky+ box into it. I would suggest getting a Sony HD DVD recorder and Sky+ to get the best from this truely amazing setup!!! And for you xBox 360 fans out there - IT IS HD!!!!!!!!!
