Sony VAIO SR29XN/S - Expensive - But Quality First,Cost Second.
Advantages: Portable,Superb Perfomance and Nice Design.
Disadvantages: High Price Tag And Lack Of Blu-Ray Drive.
... Introduction
I am a computer enthusiaist and a techie and currently am employed as a Software developer in Infotech Corporation.It has now been a month since when I visited the local sony showroom to find myself purchasing sony's slim and portable VAIO SR29XN/S.Although I left the shop being 700£ poorer but i did not mind this sudden economic change as I was carrying my future in my hands.The notebook is a bit expensive but I still made a buy as I wanted a slim,portable and powerful notebook that would be forming the elite class in bussiness or executive class of laptops.
Portablity
This is where the notebook is the one of the best performer.It was designed while keeping the concept of portablity in mind and i would say that Sony has done an excellent job producing a notebook just 2 KG and with a 13.3 Inches Screen...

Sony VAIO CR21S/P Laptop
Advantages: Fast, looks good, comes in a variety of colours
Disadvantages: Expensive, mouse can sometimes play up
...~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Why I brought the laptop
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I had had so many problems from my previous laptop, although I had only had it for 2 years - but there were problems with it right from the beginning. It was really staring to be unreliable and crashing all the time, as well it being highly annoying, I couldn't afford to keep loosing my work all the time and I was just waiting for the day for it to finally completely pack up, so I decided to go on the internet and start looking around for a new laptop. Originally I was looking for the cheapest yet good one I could find. By chance I ended up on the Sony website and advertised on the home page was this Sony Vaio. I instantly fell in love with it, so decided to check it out. This Sony Vaio is part of the CR Series and there are 3 different laptops which come with 3...
The Sony VAIO NR21S/S
Advantages: fast, good graphics, big and bright, lots of slots.
Disadvantages: Heavy, can overload and freeze, quirky inbuilt mouse.
...The NR21S is a good all rounder, with good performance, graphics, and looks.
PERFORMANCE
The laptop is fast, with pre-loaded Vista Home edition running fine, and handling several heavy processes at once without glitch. However, as with all Windows laptops, it does overload if left on for too long or too many processes are run. The laptop does, however, have 2gb RAM, so should prove no problem for users requiring less advanced programs.
Despite its speed the NR21S is very quiet, with the fan never dissapointing, a plus for users in a quiet room or for watching movies.
GRAPHICS
The graphics in the Sony are excellent. Rather than being integrated, Sony has included fast NVidia graphics, perfect for gaming on just about anything (COD and others run fine) or any other graphics use, and has never let me down.
Sony VAIO
Advantages: LONG BATTERY LIFE AND GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY.
Disadvantages: : NO GRAPHIC CARD.
...The Sony vaio is a device you can get for£ 500 or less. This is quite a notebook and it is very competence and efficient. It has a very stylish looks and has as very good graphics in terms of picture quality and brightness. I got mine some couple of months ago and I have not gotten any problems with it.
The Sony product has 15.4 X -black LCD and that makes the picture a very sharp and bright one. It does all the function you might require a laptop to do.
The Sony notebook has variety of features that makes it a fabulous functioning laptop and it is capable of running any software that is available. Its graphics card type is the one board graphic type.
This is a machine that has an upgrade value because some people might be thinking that the price might reflect the product quality but that is not true. One thing that I like...
Sony Vaio the way to go!
Advantages: Sharp screen image, high overall performance, great looks
Disadvantages: Continuous running of the fan
...I have had my Sony Vaio GRT816S for 3 months now and I thought that it is was high time I wrote a review about this marvellous notebook. Founded in 1946 Sony started out as a small company specialising in transistors radios, over the years their influence in the electronics market has grown and today they are probably the worlds most recognisable brand of electronic goods. In 1998 Sony launched their Vaio range of notebooks and these too have become the must have name in the notebook market.
The GRT816S is the top of the range model from Sony?s GRT800 range. As with most of the Sony Vaio notebooks it has a sleek and sharp looking design intended to lure looks conscious buyers like myself. It has dimensions of (WxDxH) 35.7 cm x 30 cm x 4.5 cm which is slightly bigger than your average notebook but not a major concern. It comes in...
Sony VAIO N21S/W
Advantages: Beautiful screen, looks good
Disadvantages: Only 1GB memory, runs slowly.
...Sony VAIO N21S/W.
I bought this laptop in 2007 for around £650 from www.ebuyer.com. Having had it for nearly 2 years, I have to say I am still impressed with the machine, despite it falling behind now in terms of specifications. The first thing you notice is how it looks; a clean, white and simple design, with no clutter and fuss. It looks brilliant, and is enhanced greatly by the screen, which looks tremendous.
The screen is a widescreen 15.4" TFT screen, which is crystal clear and displays everything beautifully. The keys are easy to use and are not at all sticky or stiff, and the mousepad is very precise and controlled.
In terms of performance, the N21S/W is let down somewhat. The main problem is being the amount of installed memory, which is onlg 1GB. When running vista, this is simply not enough. The machine seems to take...
SUPER SONIC SONY VAIO NR10 LAPTOP
Advantages: DVD R/W, HIGH QUALITY, BEAUTY, GREAT VALUE
Disadvantages: DOES NOT MAKE COFFEE
...INTRO
I've been using Laptops now for around ten years and must say they are improving beyond belief in every way. I've owned many brands of Laptops that include Dell, Compact, IBM, HP and a Toshiba (most recent), I have always loved the Laptop concept and will now review my new beloved Sony Vaio NR10 Laptop.
LOOKING FOR A NEW LAPTOP
As with any other products on today's markets there is usually stiff competition and as far as Computers go it's more competitive now than ever. I began to look for a new Laptop last month in the January sales, which is the best time in my opinion as there's often big mark downs on prices and bargains to be had. Now the funny thing is I've always been a big Sony fan in every way (especially Sony Trintron TV''s) but never owned a Sony Computer or Laptop, so Sony was at the top of my list to...
Sony Vaio VGN S1XP
Advantages: Light, compact, screen display
Disadvantages: Price, no floppy drive, hard to source
...I'll firstly start of with a cutdown list of the specification (I have not listed full details as they go on for ages!).
Intel® Pentium® M Processor 735 Processor, 1.70A GHz, 2 MB L2 Cache, 400 MHz FSB, Windows® XP, 13.3" Display X-black, 1200 x 800 resolution, 512Mb RAM, 60Gb hard Disk, DVD-RW, Graphic Card ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9700, 64 MB VRAM, Wireless LAN, 10/100 network, modem, 2 x USB, Memory stick slot
We had been looking for a lightweight laptop for a while, and after good advice decided to go for one of the Sony Vaio S series. After much deliberation I decided on the S1XP - the top model of the series (there are three models - S1XP, S1VP (availble only from Sony) and the S1HP (base model).
The main reason for the purchase was to have soemthing lightweight but functional for travel. A lot of laptops seem to come...
Me and My Sony
Advantages: Light weight, portable machine with decent memory and responsiveness
Disadvantages: Would have preferred manufacturers restore disks.
...A couple of years ago, due to the fact that I was going to be travelling a lot around the country, I thought it was time to get myself another laptop as my old Sony Viao, although still working, was far too limited on processing power and hard drive space for what I wanted it for. I had liked my old Viao so I decided on another Viao, and when I checked out the latest NR10 in Comets I was quite impressed.
What it?s Like to Use
I liked the responsiveness of the T2310 dual-core Pentium Processor installed in the NR10. Running at 1.4GHZ this processor loads and allows programs to function very quickly, and surfing the Internet is as quick as my desktop, that runs at 3GHZ ? although to be fair, my desktop just has a single-core processor.
First Time Use
Switching on the NR-10 for the first time, wasn?t like switching...
SONY VAIO NR21J/S - Budget Laptop from Sony
Advantages: Price, Features, Battery Life.
Disadvantages: No standalone Graphics card .
...A fully featured VAIO notebook for under £500. This has to be worth looking into. Sony VAIO Notebooks are famous for being industry leaders but also for being overpriced. Now this Laptop has the quality and stylish look as do all VAIO's but not the price tag. With a 15.4" X-Black LCD you are garunteed to have a great picture whatever applications you may be using. However it only has on-board graphics and not a standalone card like most other VAIO's this obviously helps bring down the price but does affect the overall functionality of the product. But it is nice to see Sony bring out a notebook at an affordable price that does everything the majority of laptop users require. With a standard 2 GB RAM and a Dual Core T2330 1.6Ghz Processor This is definitely not a low end machine.
Capable of running the most intensive programs available...
