...haven't got a clue how to use these things and want a player that has been designed for one thing and one thing only then this is the one for you. The unit is available in 512mbs or 1gb. For me this was adequate as I regularly update my tunes. This is by far enough memory to fit many of your favourite albums and play lists on. My ipod was a massive 40gb which was a complete waste of money as I have no where near that amount of music to put on. The unit charges via the USB port in the computer. Basically you plug it in and it charges up as easy as that. This is also excellent as when transferring your music to and from the player it charges. ...the accompanying manual. For the most part anything above basic operation I had to discover myself. The sound quality of this unit is very good, even with the headphones that come with it. With a small tweak of the equalizer I've always been able to attain a good sound. My only criticism would be the volume level; on older, quieter tracks, when walking next to a busy road the unit just doesn't go loud enough. The unit I have is the 1gb version. How much music you get on here depends on the format and bitrate quality of your tracks. The unit will play MP3's as well as Sony's ALTRAC format. At bitrates varying from 192-320kbps MP3 I've been able to get about 20 albums worth on here. Sony reckon that if you use their ALTRAC format at 64kbps you can get up to 45 albums on here. I haven't used their format so I can't comment on the sound quality here...

...Good Points: -Looks good. -Small, fits easily into crowded pockets. -Good battery life and very fast recharge. (mine has recharged in half an hour) -Nice sound quality. -Display is easy to see and read. -It's reasonably durable, I have dropped it on numerous occasions without and damage. ...clip, armbands and earphones that have a neckstrap as well as water proof cases etc. but these obviously come at a price which cunningly is not included in the leaflet they provide with the MP3 in the box!! All in all this Sony Walkman is a great purchase, as it is easy to use, looks great and is reliable. I myself have bought 2 of the little wonders, one for me and another as a present. A simple & stylish MP3 player from Sony

Advantages: Size, simple software, USB charging facility, its a Sony

...Bought the 512mb model for £39.99 from Argos as I wanted a small & simple MP3 player & Sony's products are usually pretty good. It looks like a memory stick & is about the same size & weight. This basic model will hold approx 15 albums worth of music & comes with a basic ear piece, CD to load on Sony software & a pile of instruction manuals in different langauges(?!) There is no charging lead so charging is carried out by plugging the unit into a computer with the USB connector loctaed under the removable cap. A power monkey can also be used if you have one. Battery life is decent & although short of features this little MP3 player plays good quailty sound with four simple controls plus a 'lock' feature. The front display is tiny & if you have poor eyesight you may find it hard to read. The sofware that Sony supply makes transferring...

...I recently got given this product as a christmas present. What attracted me to this product was the attractive pink (in my case) and silver design. It comes in a range of colours from pink, violet, black, silver and green. The Sony Walkman is small and compact, weighing as little as 25g and no bigger than 3inchs in length, and about 1cm in depth. It has an attractive coloured plastic covering the software inside. The MP3 player connects directly into your computers USB port by removing the silver plastic covering at the end of the player. Storage The storage is one GB which is loads in the world of mp3s and today I have about 20 songs on it and that has taken up a tiny space. I think it is capable of holding 100 albums if I ever wanted to listen to that many in three hours! Look The looks are on of its best features. Really stylish, so small it looks similar to one of those USB pens that you get it that small! Mine is bleu and silver and the writing that comes up on the screen is florescent blue.
