Having read "DaveD"'s opinion, and already having my own pet theories on Sony, I also purchased the integrated digital version of Sony's excellent 32" widescreen set, after hours spent annoying John Lewis's comparing with Panasonic and the like. I got mine through a Freeserve Auction for a price that would make Dave weep. The picture is excellent, especially on digital TV, which is now a huge source of real 16 by 9 widescreen programmes - e.g. BBC News 24 is permanently 16:9, and newer programmes on BBC1 are going that way too. Sony KDL-46W5500 - awesome LCD TV with stunning pictures

Advantages: Stunning pictures, loaded with features, useful extra connection options
Disadvantages: Expensive - but it is a Sony

...easy to use. There are the usual HDMI and SCART inputs, plus you can plug in a USB Key with photos, videos, and music on which the TV will happily work with. You can also connect the TV to your router although not quite figured out how to set the networking bits yet. My laptop plugs in quite happily via a standard monitor cable and I can view my PC screen on the TV. The TV is easy to lift (a lot lighter than my old CRT) and feels solid and well built. The screen swivels 20 degrees on the stand, enough to adjust for comfortable viewing. Overall, I'm delighted with this LCD. Can't wait to see blu ray on it....

...I have owned this Samsung television for a year now and have been very pleased with it's performance. I would say it was of average price for an LCD TV of this size at around £600. It was easy to install (although no aerial lead was included in the packaging) and the channel auto install was simple. The picture quality is very good, well defined, and colours are bright and sharp. Colours are even throughout the screen, with no fading or darker patches. The teletext functions are also good, with bright displays. The sound quality is excellent, defined and clear with no muffling. The remote control included in the packaging is basic but does the job. Sony SDM-S94 LCD monitor

Advantages: Excellent picture, Looks fantastic
Disadvantages: Price, lack of height adjustment

...I have been using the SONY SDM-S94 monitor for about 5 months now since upgrading my PC. I have it connected to an ATI Radeon X800 Pro using the DVI connector. I found the monitor very easy to setup, the manual seems adequate but wasn't needed. There were no dead pixels which is something I was worried about after reading about LCD monitors. The viewing angle is more than adequate even with 3 or 4 people looking over my shoulders to see the screen. Cable management is very slick, all the connections are concealed behind a panel at the rear of the screen. Although the monitor has a fairly slow response time of .25ms , I haven't noticed any problems with blurring when watching DVDs or playing games. My only criticism is the lack of height adjustment....

Advantages: Stylish, Great Display Quality, Easy to Setup

...Exceptional Screen, Great for work I have owned this Sony screen for 2 years. It originally cost around £200 and prices have remained similar ever since. The picture quality is exceptional and I have had no problems or dead pixels etc. You have a simple menu system for adjusting brightness, contrast etc and you can plug into your pc via either a standard vga cable or the newer dvi cable. The looks of it are fantastic, as with most Sony products and it sits nicely on my desk. The energy saving feature is great as you'd expect and it switches itself off after a period on non-usage. I've tried and tested it on several pcs and it works fine using the plug and play facility with no problems.
